U.S. backs Seoul's charge that North Korea sank ship

From what I have read the ship was extremely close to NK territory when it was attacked.

My theory on what happened is that a trigger happy NK sub commander either mistakenly thought the ship was in there waters and/or just make a very bad decision and torpedoed it.

After the fact they realized they messed up and tried to hide it because they knew lil Kimmy would cut there effing heads off if he found out.

or maybe it is realized that Kim Jong Il is insane from whatever disease process is afflicting him, and they are trying to not drag either nation into a war right now.

Destorying infrastructure means you have to rebuild infrastructure. On yours and my dime, no less.
