Wow.. was it not Obama himself that was say he was going to try and help legalize this back in 08' before he even became president?

and also why cant our government even weigh out their options here? i mean that we have millions of people obviously rallying to get this legalized so why not do it already? don't they know how my much money they will make by doing this? For one, the incarceration and processing bill will plunge, second the revenue from selling and mandating the sale of marijuana will exponentially raise their profits!

tsk, tsk, Obama

I want to see Obama make it legal because it is my god given right as a free man to put whatever the hell I want into my own body.

Slaves don't get to decide what they put into their own bodies, slavemasters get to make that decision.

Are you a free man or are you a slave and the government is your slavemaster?

This can only mean that our president will make money from the illegal sale of drugs. If you think any position any leader has taken is because of a moral viewpoint, you are wrong. It is all about money. The loudest voices against legalization are the ones profiting from the law.
I suspect Obama was the first president to smoke a joint in the oval office. How easy it is to be a hypocrite once you become president.

Look at the big picture...Obama is of course going to run again for office, and he will not be able to do much good until he is a ' lame duck' and has nothing to lose.

The Republicans would HOWL from every radio and TV station if he came out for common sense. They would accuse the Dems of being ' soft on drugs' and would whip up the most outlandish scare campaigns you could imagine, using every lie and distorted fact they can to ruin a Dems chances.

It is POLITICS as usual...Obama's advisors tell him : " Hey Boss, sure, we all know weed is innocuous, but we would get eaten alive by all the networks and pundits...accusing you of smoking weed and dredging up all of your past comments...let it alone ."

Until the grip of the twisted right wing mentality is loosened in this nation, we cannot make progress. Ignoring reality and the truth are an integral part of the machine that runs policy...all that matters is perceptions..

Anyone with a brain knows that the law does not hinder usage...thats silly. The truth is not appreciated.

I concure! I do think that we were complaining about about the conspiracy between the different ruling elites to further each group's self serving agenda. The latter type of discourse does serve the purpose of achieving a larger picture of the different plots and sub plots of the current 3D experience. We must remember there is nothing to fear. As we witness these negative entities jockey for position, I believe the prudent course of action is to secure and define our own orientation being either positive or negative and enjoy the show.

Love & Peace to you all.

No. He has never advocated legalization.

More likely, he will lose money (support) by legalization.

Calling someone a hypocrite based on a suspicion that has no basis whatsoever in reality? Is that wise? No.

Few of you actually understand what Marijuana Legalization in Calif would really do.

One: companies could still test for Marijuana and fire you.
Two: those that smoke a lot of pot tend to be lazy and have no motavation to work.
Both these will free up jobs for those that want to work.

Three for those that use medical Marijuana where i live the nearest clinic is 200 miles away and few on disability that need medical Marijuana can get to them.
The local cops working with the Navy(NCIS) have closed every clinic that tries to open in my area using loopholes in the medical Marijuana law.

This new proposed law would make it a lot better for medical Marijuana users.

Four: I could make a little extra money to supplement my disability checks if this medical Marijuana law passes. (i will leave it at that you can read anything into that statement you want. TOC)

I highly doubt that the Obama Adiministration wants to be the one who legalizes or does not legalize drugs. The main reason being:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Source: U.S. "Bill of Rights"

Therefore, I would consider this headline and article a spin job and maybe a hoax, yet most likely a spin job that has taken the non-action of the administration(s) to move on subject as an interpretation to 'be against drugs'.

It's more like, this is a change that the people have to 'be the change' by the people for the people. One way to do that is State by State.

Simply study scriptures about The Burning Bush and The Anointed Ones if you disagree. Needs no further explanation.

I'd also like to know that if marijuana has no benefits like Kerlikowske seems to believe, why big pharma have already created and patented things like Marinol for ADHD and depression? Does his views change when it comes to a pill from big pharma as opposed to someone growing and smoking a plant for medicinal or recreational use?
Let's be serious, the government are not "that" stupid, they know fine well what they risk to lose in legalizing marijuana...mostly because of hemps industrial use and marijuana's use for certain conditions, which would take a considerable chunk of profits away from big pharma. It's the average joe that actually supports such a silly view that always leaves me scratching my head.
