4. "Rogue" states with the above.
5. Most importantly, mankinds inability in general to put aside differences and abandon the politics of greed.

I love how the 2012ers always say "something" is going to happen. Of course it is...something happens every day. I would like some of you to get very specific as to what that "something" is.

My prediction:

-there will be an earthquake on that date...somewhere in the world
-there will be a flood on that date...somewhere in the world
-there will be a war on that date...somewhere in the world
-there will be famine on that date...somewhere in the world........

Its just a money making scheme I mean some of the theory's are interesting and entertaining but there all just made up where over populated if anything gets us before we destroy this planet it will be a virus or something and not a man made one natures way.

I second that. Too many things are all happening at once. I think is is going to be bad. I fear that the ones that live though it will live in a world that is so messed up that the living will envy the dead.

The day after Pres. Obama was elected, he met with Bush/everyone to be "briefed." It was never announced what they discussed. I saw him on the news as he was leaving a building and entering a vehicle. He looked TOTALLY spooked, like he'd just learned horrible things he didn't want to know. He looked TERRIBLE. Horrified. FREAKED OUT. I think he knew then what was/is going to happen.

Look, the government has been warning us for quite some time. We have commercials on the Disney Channel telling kids to have their emergency bags packed full of supplies. FEMA has outlined numerous scenarios. (Where is the plan for solar flares, FEMA??)

We have Pres. Obama et. all passing things left and right to get things in place before TSHTF. Around the world there are multiple seed vaults and underground cities and underground bunkers storing national treasures. Politicians are quitting to "spend more time with family." We have presidents/rich folk buying up properties in high elevations in other "safe" countries. Come on! They are preparing! I think there will be a combination of factors.

As for things happening before 2012, it's a feeling. Few people would panic because they think it is a while away yet.

Don't worry, Fixer. Honestly, we can't prepare for everything, but we can at least pay attention to our surroundings. Notice 2 million people in Boston without water. Car bomb in NYC. Prepare for what you can. Be positive. Stay alert.

Be assured that there are others like you who are paying attention, too.

Me, too, Darkday. Can't explain why. I keep trying to appreciate life now. Eating what I want to eat. Relaxing. Seeing parts of the country I haven't been to yet. I feel the need to do as much as possible before it is impossible to do so.

Most of what you listed are natural occurrences that have been going on for billions of years. Keep in mind that most of this stuff happens all the time.

Denial of Chemtrails? Last I checked something needed to be be proven in order to be denied and since Chemtrails have never been scientifically proven...

Last I checked all the natural disasters that have happened recently were already understood phenomenon. Earthquakes, volcanic activity, sun spots, floods, we know and have documented events like those man many times so they have more than enough precedent to be considered normal.

This I agree with, however if you look at the statistics our population growth is gradually decreasing, its still going a bit too fast for my liking but we might be okay in this department.

Pretty sure the Pope destroyed his own credibility by protecting pedophiles and telling Africa condoms would make AIDS worse. The guy deserves all the bad press he gets, vague Biblical prophecy or not.

Saw the same thing before Y2K. The doomsayers and pseudoscientists punch up a few books about a Doomsday, mention a couple of prophets who supposedly agreed with the date they've proposed and then rake in as much money as possible until the day after the world was supposed to end. I'm already working on my BS pseudoscience book: "2020 - The Year of Clear Vision" in an attempt to predict the next doomsday and cash in on people's insatiable gullibility.

In Conclusion: I'm sure SOMETHING big will happen in 2012, because big things happen every single year, its impossible to make it through a year with no events of interest. I'm sure a handful of disasters will occur and the pseudoscientists and 2012 proponents will all still claim they were right but that the "crisis was averted" or something...

Something happening in 2012 - Yes.
Something happening in 2012 related to a Doomsday or the Mayans - No.

Anyone can make up a bunch of reasons for anything... it doesn't mean those reasons are right or true or if any of it even makes any sense.

All these natural disasters have happened before; solar ejections, huge volcanoe's etc. However, there's a distinct problem. When these things happened before it didn't matter. Now it does matter. Humanity has become so dependant on the technologies it has developed, that when the SHTF big time, we are not going to be able to cope. When the next coronal mass ejection happens on the scale of the 1850's one, say goodbye to your car, phone, electricity, clean water, heating, food, work, money.
When the next mega volcano kicks off, say goodbye to airtravel, and as a cosequence, final economic collapse ( we're practically there anyway).
Oh and say hello to global rioting, looting, death on a huge scale from famine ,disease. Basically, by advancing so far technologically, we have dug our own grave. It's only a matter of time. It's already atarted. the house of cards is falling. Sorry for sounding so pessimistic, but i'm simply stating facts

Bargoose, I agree with a lot of what you said. The key to all of this is electronics and communications - take those two interdependent factors out, and the complex infrastructure of the developed world will likely fail. We have become more and more reliant on man-made systems, forgetting that we are guests on a living planet with its own agenda.
