What! are you telling me that photons from the Sun get trapped and reflected off of our atmosphere AND those photons bounce outward to make our planet shiny!? I don't understand this bizarre science thingy that you are talking about. So then -- the bluish-white specs of light that are on the suits are in fact the Earth!?!?!?!! You just blew my mind!

Ohh wait your talking to me?

Why do I care? I already made your foe list.

So whatever. Not like you have anything useful to say anyway.
:shk:
Why don't you go back to your pathetic foe list?

Edited to add:

Bizarre science thingy?

Wow funny you should say science because you knew about astronomy and the moon you'd obviously know that it is SCIENCE!

So here MR I know all about science, put your foot back in your mouth and be quite!

The Da Vinci Glow
Astronomy Picture of the Day
Earthshine

Sunshine Earthshine at the Lunar Limb

The Moon and Earth Shine

Planet Shine

When can you see earthshine on a crescent moon?

I think that the list could go on and on and on, but I think that proves the point your have nothing useful to contribute.

That will do, thank you.

If you can recall the topic of the thread is:

Young Aussie genius whipping NASA in Moon Hoax Debate!

Let's stay focused on that please.

FOOSM, IT'S TIME FOR YOUR APOLOGY AND EXPLANATION.

A reminder - here FoosM posted an edited video showing Buzz Aldrin descending the LM ladder during the Apollo 11 mission. He WRONGLY claimed this was a lighting 'anomaly' and 'further' proof of a hoax.

He DIDN'T tell anyone that the video was cut short.

He DIDN'T tell anyone that just a few seconds after that short cut, Neil Armstrong walks across and into view. (You can tell it's him by watching the cut video, anyway, if you look closely).

He DIDN'T link to the journal, here:
history.nasa.gov...

He DIDN'T show you the full video, found here (8Mb):
history.nasa.gov...

Here's a quickndirty animation, showing EXACTLY what happens:
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/1184e56f2d93.gif[/atsimg]

In the first frame, you can see the supposed 'anomaly' - but note the little shadow to the right of Aldrin's hip? Gosh, what could that be?
In the second frame - you can see the shadow moving to the right? Is it an alien?
In the third frame, the shadow starts to look familiar...
In the fourth frame, Armstrong (now in shadow himself) moves into the field of view.

I think it's well past time that FoosM explains why he does this, OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Is it incompetence? Is it deliberate deception?

Do tell, FoosM. Tell us exactly why the forum's members are having their time completely wasted with this execrable GARBAGE.

As Gemwolf has correctly pointed out, the title is:

Young Aussie genius whipping NASA in Moon Hoax Debate!

Which has been thoroughly addressed, by many, many intelligent and experienced contributors. It has shown, beyond any doubt, that the premise of this thread, based on its title, is incorrect.

It is evident that the person in question, cited by the OP ("Jarrah White") gets only two out of four aspects attributed to him correct. He does appear to be 'young' (but, that is such a relative term...); based on his accent he certainly seems to be an Aussie (
I do like our Aussie cousins!! Well, most of them, anyway )...

However, this is where the assertions made by OP end; the last ones fall well, well short of accuracy.

He ("Jarrah") certainly is NO "genius"....unless you wish to attribute the term 'genius' to video-editting skills. Still falls short there too, IMO.

As to "whipping" NASA?~?~!~?~? Funny, that seems tobe purely in the imagination of the OP. (An OP who, BTW, has FAILED to come and defend his position, all these two thousand pages....errr....well, it felt like two thousand, anyway....)

I think "Jarrah WHite" has had his virtual "arse" whipped, but real good.

For those still unconvinced, a simple meander through the many videos that TEAR HIM A NEW ONE, tearing apart his videos too, will be a good idea to embark upon.

Additionally....(I haven't checked lately) but IF "JW" is still 'blocking' comments on his YouTube videos, or removing posts that call him out on his baloney, then that is very, very telling as well, regarding his lack of credibility......

Well, you've got to give it to Jarrah. He flew to Las Vegas, and on July 9 confronted Adam Savage in person about the laser reflectors.

Mythbusters = busted.

edit: If this is the level of research they do, then all their other 'experiments' must be called into question.

Not exactly.

The laser at Apache point is completely different than the one used to bounce directly off the Moon pre-Apollo.

The laser from Apache point fires at 90 picoseconds pulses at 115 millijoules. Compare that to the one from MIT in 1962 which was at .5 millisecond pulses at 50 joules.

Just a slight difference there...

If this is the level of research they do, then all their other 'experiments' must be called into question.

Why don't you hold Jarrah up to the same level of standards then? Clearly his research is lacking as well. Perhaps all his videos should be called into question too?

I thought that Adam Savage answered exactly how one should expect.

Where is the MIT scientists top prove the myth busters experiment wrong?

He did a good job setting the example in the face of (Jarrah White) stupidity.

Adam and Jamie have done episodes of myth busters revisiting myths people have complained about.

Adam gave a perfect reply in that interview stating that as far as he knew the expert he was consulting was correct.

Jarrah spends a good amount of time talking about his critics and not really making many points, and generally he's just a bit condescending in implying that he debates perfectly and that everyone else is rude and misleading.

People are rude and misleading generally - doesn't matter what side of the debate they're on.

The video is misleading again apparently jarrah loves doing this.
When a laser hits the moon surface it refracts. Notice they saw a glow from the laser in the first attempt. So light was returned the difference in the second test was the laser was returned to earth without refraction. So in other words he is either purposefully misleading people or he knows nothing of photons either way Jarrah was wrong.

"Jarrah White" relies heavily on people's lack of understanding of science, in order to have an audience.

It is truly tragic that ANYONE watches his crap, and falls for it. In any way.

Speaks very poorly to the state of science education in general....and it seems ineptitude and lack of learning, rational thinking failures, and reasoning deficits in some people aren't limited to any one Nation on this planet.

Exactly. And if those people are MOTIVATED and BIASED to *want* to believe that the 'ordinary' people were hoaxed.....

Why? Many, many reasons:

- it makes them feel like superior beings (a state they likely have never encountered in real life)

- it reinforces their belief that TPTB are out to get them, and that explains why their lives have, in general, been a failure

- it is part of their mantra that *everything* the gov't does is a lie (although they are happy to use an Interweb based on DoD tech, drive on roads, use mains water and electricity, etc..)

- it allows them to attract similar uninformed folk, who can discuss things at the same ignorant level, giving them a sense of community

- it allows them to use pseudo-scientific language to those same uninformed folk - which is why most of them don't like the reception they get at forums and stick to hiding under the rock of Youtube

... and those reasons are quite apart from the weird ones like religious beliefs or anti-US sentiments, or any desire to make money from dvd's or books, or at the very low end of the scale, Youtube advertising revenue.

Finally there is the occasional 'genuinely confused' or unsure person - it is to those people (a few who have appeared on this very thread) I aim my responses. It's worth noting that every one of those who has appeared here, has changed their mind towards belief in the Apollo achievement.

Bravo, deniers. More converts to the other side!
