BP (British Petroleum) Oil Spill In Gulf Now Up To 200,000 Gallons A Day

thing is BP are only renting it. The owner of the rig is Transocean and it is their staff who were in charge of drilling. With 6 BP engineers over seeing the operation.

State of Emergency now declared in LA. opening situation up for troop occupation, and military participation. Their saying their going to disperse chemicals from aircraft.

I am located in Gulf Shores / Biloxi right now. We were going to the beach today, for one last walk before this spill hits. However, hearing that the area will be sprayed, we are thinking otherwise.

I will be on the beach as soon as possible with my camera.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting, since the people I know who work on rigs, have to have passports to do so.

I guess it will be interesting to hear their stories of being investigated when they get home, unless they are warned not to speak about it.

It does seem as if there is more information that may be known concerning the cause of the explosion and there is an attempt to prevent it from happening elsewhere. There is so much that we are kept in the dark about; we probably wouldn't leave the house if we knew about all the 'close calls'.

Am i missing something here?

I wasn't sure what exactly a SWAT team is called in for so I looked it up on good old Wikipedia. It states:

SWAT duties include:
* Hostage rescue.
* Crime suppression.
* Riot control.
* Perimeter security against snipers for visiting dignitaries.
* Providing superior assault firepower in certain situations, e.g. barricaded suspects.
* Rescuing officers and citizens captured or endangered by gunfire.
* Countering terrorist operations in cities.
* Resolving high-risk situations with a minimum loss of life, injury, or property damage.
* Resolving situations involving barricaded subjects (specifically covered by a Hostage Barricade Team).
* Stabilizing situations involving high-risk suicidal subjects.
* Providing assistance on drug raids, arrest warrants, and search warrants.
* Providing additional security at special events.
* Stabilizing dangerous situations dealing with violent criminals (such as rapists, serial killers or gangs).

Im watching rick sanchez on cnn and there saying that the booms will not help and the oil will flow over the booms and there is also a flood warning...what there saying is burning is not a option and its pretty much out of control
