lol i do see where your coming from. I had no idea there was a 'Katla has erupted thread'. ^^

Yea people should use the Search function

Katla getting ready to blow

Katla may have erupted

they should also learn that Katla is showing no signs of Eruption, and why the only reason people got confused is because they don't know what they are looking at on the WebCams.

Well im sorry we've all been a bit paranoid today SIR. Only there's been nearly 100 earthquakes in the close vicinity of it today, and like i say I live in the UK and so i keep an eye on it. Why do we have to keep ping ponging like this?

I don't want to argue, anyone who is a fan of hicks is a friend of mine, I just think you've lumped us all in the same boat here.

The chat about katla has literally only come about in this thread after some of us hear were keeping an eye on the 82 + earthquakes reported today.

Ive known what I was looking at in the webcams for a long time, it's easily figured out because there is a MAP to the right of the cam showing where the camera is.

I actually see the funny side of it, just wanted to clear up the confusion on what people were actually looking at on the cams. It helps if we ever do want to see any signs of Katla erupting and want to avoid all the false alarms.

I think if people are going to talk about Katla they should also remember the topic is called "Eyjafjallajökull Caldera Eruption" I read the last few pages and had to check I was in the Eyja topic, I wouldn't mind but pictures of clouds is a waste of mine and everybody else's time.

No sweat though, I love you all and your confused little worlds you live in.

Hey gang - ohh bit of a convo going on overnight!

However, no offence AT ALL meant but I do tend to have to wade through pages of claims of Katla steaming - nothing is going on at Katla (yet) and the tricks of shadow and light on the RUV cam are all you're seeing. Honestly, with the world's experts watching the area you can be sure if Katla so much as farts you'll hear about it and it'll deserve its own thread

Maybe in the meantime a Katla Watch thread?

Anyway, I'm back off to watch Lady Eyja throwing her toys out of the pram - love a good night time show

Peace y'all.

Hi Woodwytch- yes,the lava continues to be ejected all day - it is just that daylight precludes us from seeing it as well.

If you watch the thermal imaging cam on the Poro link you can continue to see the lava ejections and, more excitingly, its track down the glacier.

I have the webcams added to my favourites
and I've spent ages switching from the thermal to the regular to try and catch a few sparks during the day (keeps me out of trouble).

At least I get it now. Thanks. Woody

Peace, enjoy the fireworks. Got to love the new Thermal Cam too.......

Just doing my bit to keep the false alarms down

Hope nobody took offense, I really do love you all

Have a present.

Few more Jpeg and Streaming Webcams, all in one place too....

Not so good now because it's getting dark in Iceland, but gives you in idea of where you are looking and what a nice place Iceland is.

What a great link, cheers for that. Eyja look's awesum tonight, though it put on a great show last night.

Speaking of iceland and it's awesum sights, i highly recommend a music/film called Heima, it's by Sigur Ros, an icelandic band, it's truly wonderful.

Easy there tiger ... you are in the presence of a techno-phobe who didn't understand a word of what you just said ... now you understand why I appreciate people who upload stuff to help computer dimwits like me get by.

Star for you...nice to have all those darn links in one spot.

I see the quakes have continued to roll out...does anyone have a link for a plot of these? Or perhaps Puterman or some other wiz could make one? I am just wondering if these are trending shallower, maybe indicating more magma either rising to the surface of the current erruption, or perhaps moving to rise to the surface at another location? It just makes it so much more interesting with those nice graphs...

Clear sky today so when can now see the Eyja eruption on the hekla cam too.
On the right of the cam we can see the top of the ash plume.
