This has been (and continues to be) a fantastic thread because of several people in particular who have put in much time and effort to keep us all informed.

You on the other hand, seem to be so disturbed by the thread that maybe you'd feel better if you stepped away for a while ... because you are not really contributing anything of use to the thread at the moment and the 'sarcasm' that you seem to set your store by is not only quite offensive to some of the people here ... it's pretty childish too !

Now if you don't mind ... it would be good to get back to reading about the volcano(es) and looking at the screenshots that people are good enough to upload for us ... rather than reading a collection of posts that consist of repetitive whining.

The username is very apt btw because that's what I'm starting to think when I see certain posts appear.
(a little inject of sarcasm seeing as you're such a fan)

Nope..... he would just sit here like me laughing at the paranoid freak show of a species we have become. Everyone just over reacts, people live to analysis every part of the experience.... so much so they miss the learning behind the experience, and when you miss the learning part of it "You mistake Clouds for Volcanic Eruptions"

Lighten up.... life is not that bad.

Have a look at a real Volcano on the Mila Cam Here

Exactly! I'd rather be looking at ATS to see what is going on with the volcano than watching the rolling news channels. This means my missus can be watching crap on telly. She'd give me hell if I made her watch BBC news all the time.

The idea that people are contributing to this thread in order to warn the Icelandic nation when something happens is utterly preposterous. We just like to be among the first few million people to know.

Hey there ... I have a question to any of you that knows about such things.

>>> Last night we saw lava as we are tonight ... my question is ... would this lava have been reacting like this all day and we just don't see it because of the sunlight ... or has it been quiet throughout the day and just now flared-up again ?

Appologies if this is a really dim question I am a complete novice with all things volcanic.

Man please get out of our thread, telling us these thing's.

As a hobby, were keeping an eye on volcanos, it has nothing to do with us being some hero and warning the icelandic people of a cave troll. Geez.

Agree with above poster ^^

EDIT: Actually id like to clear this up, im probably unknowingly paranoid because i live in the UK and in the path of both of these volcanoes, i think that justifies it? I mean, i don't like to hear it but, i really don't think im paranoid.

It's a fantastic thread, some of the contributions have been brilliant I don't deny that. Just a shame some people keep posting cloud pictures near Katla when I am trying to find out the latest on Eyja, Annoying when you want to catch up on the latest information. I have seen more clouds than superman, what I really I want to see pictures of Lava and crap... preferably people and Lava...

I keep getting all excited for nothing, you see a post it's like

OMG OMG STEAM OMG OMG WHAAAA......

so I'm like oh well nothing to do with this topic but best read...

and I see pictures of Clouds, and dust blowing in the wind, and Butterfly's and Birds

Anyway I should be watching Yellowstone, don't want to miss that eruption on my watch... I will get sacked of that one goes off and nobody notices.

Hi Woody,

The sun's light hides the lava glow during the day, that's why the best viewing times are after sunset.

However, now in Iceland they have the midnight sun.. The sun never sets and now we can view the volcano and surroundings quite well 24-7.

I think you have made your point. Over and over and over. We enjoy looking at the latest developements in Iceland.
A couple of pictures would have passed by without as much as ripple until they got harped on. It is you now, who is filling the thread with "no news".

Sorry just had to spew like Ely for a minute.

Thank-you ... I feel more intelligent already. I kind of thought that was the case but didn't want to presume.

Certainly has provided us with an amazing show the last couple of nights.

BTW: Cool that you can see Eyja erupting in the background on Hekla cam tonight!..if i knew how to post the link to the cam i would..but i don't..sorry guys..Cheers..Happy Watchin!

Ok just to say I'm enjoying this thread and I want hear about Katla developments as well.

Now did anyone else watch the UFO over Eyfa about 5 mins ago.

In this screen cap you can see a bright white light directly above the main vent.

This light appeared close to the vent and it took about a minute to rise in an arc to the top of the pic and then go off screen.

Could be a plane with a light I suppose. What else ?

Is there anyway of finding out if there were any planes / helicopters in that area at that time ?

I was hoping to get the latest on Eyja seen as it's the Eyja thread, if I was new to the topic I would confuse Katla for Eyja so on. Next thing you get more threads, Katla is erupting or Hekla is erupting. It just makes life harder and I am confused by the confusion in this topic, go back to the last 3 pages it's full of Katla pictures.

Imagine if you just came in the topic

No sweat though, The pic I posted should help a little.

You'll see a few planes and helicopters as it stays active. They are making more documentaries for NatGeo, History Channel, Science Channel and Discovery. (As well as Scientists monitoring it for gas quantity and ash density)

Yeah I saw that and mentioned it on the last page, it was there about an hour ago, got 10 or so screen grabs of it moving around, you could even see it on the closeup cam but it still just looked bright white, I think it was just a plane or helicopter like everyone says.

I can post up the pics, but they are all just white dots in different places!
