Same cam I am looking at, Nothing look looks out of place to me and no Quakes in the Katla area. The steam I can see is just Fog/Clouds, people need to chill on the "Katla is gonna blow" comments every time there is a bit of Fog... because if and when it does, everyone will be like "Ohh yea Katla is gonna blow or the 10th time this week ZzzzzZzzz"

Panic over - not people, thought on ridge saw line of movement - think clouds moving.

Don't think that Katla's acting up - no quakes to indicate anything etc. Think it's just cloud.

nahhh i disagree, i think we should be paranoid about katla

the cam for katla is god awefull, it's hard to discerne a bird from a ufo lol, a rock from a cloud, a cloud from volcanic ash, snow for water etc, the camera is position in a horrible position, we have no real idea where the # the volcano is, really.

Not paranoid - vigilant perhaps. There is a good chance she could go, as she has often done so after Eyja (but not always). Could be now, could be next month or could be a year's time.

I think we'll see at least some seismic / tremor anomalies before any action ... just my 0.02cents

I agree with you. Can somebody tell us where the volcano is.

There is a circular shape in the centre of the camera view but as its not covered in snow ice I'm assuming that is not the top of the volcano. Presumably the top is the very far away distant mountain.

If I'm right then this camera is in a similar position/distance to the Hvolsvelli cam with respect to Eyjafjallajökull

The little map to the right of the cam shows the location of the cam in relation to Katla. Assuming it's pointing straight at the peak then I have been assuming the far distant hump/ridge to be Katla region.

Some interesting reading here for those that want to better understand the relationship between Katla and Eyja. Some great maps and data.

There is also a great schematic cross-section from west to east across the Eyja and Katla volcanoes.

Apologies if it's been posted before.
