REALLY! Since you are so intelligent then you should know there is no such thing as a
Native American> The Indians never referred to themselves as Americans. Indians never
heard of the word until we arrived. America is what the first explorers named this land not the indians.
Now the Indians were and are made up of separate and distinct tribes. As different as German and French people. For hundreds and possibly thousands of years these tribes had wars
and took land and women from each other. All the tribes also fought the mexicans and did the same thing. When the Europeans came they fought them. You seem to be under the impression Americans were the only people ever to fight a war. Fighting wars and taking land has been going on since the beginning of time. We did it and the Indians did it. For some reason though your only upset about Europeans doing it.

And I don't understand who this WE is you keep referring to that stole this land. If you mean me you're wrong. I stole no land. Political correctness has you suffering from collective guilt.

When did being a proud American become a Crime?
When America was taken over by criminal bankers and corporations.

When did the defense of our Constitution and Bill of Rights become a Crime? Same answer.

When did being a former Soldier become a Crime in this country?
Sad to say, when the soldiers stopped fighting for our freedom and democracy and started fighting for Shell , Exxon, KFC and Coca Cola Chase, IBM, AT&T.

When did upholding the Oath you took to defend your country from enemies both foreign and domestic become a crime?
Same answer as above...

When did Americans decide we the former soldiers of this great country of ours are criminals IE (terrorists/extremists)? Both answers from above.
When SOME, not all, the soldiers stopped questioning their orders to kill innocents, when the soldiers were sent to invade instead of protect. Thats when it happened.

NOW before anything goes up in flames here, I do want to say that people like yourself are the real hero's, fighting for our freedoms and humanity around the globe, fighting for a better tomorrow, getting out there and standing up for what is right, but its NOT JUST AMERICA, its humanity.

The issues we face in the world, with government and people are not a legal issue or an issue of politics, its a an issue of spirit / mind / body.
Our troubles are symptoms of the real plague of greed, fear and ignorance.

The realization that we are all one life, one love, on earth this pale blue dot in space will solve all other issues. When we will die before we kill, give before we take, love before fear, and create before we destroy ALL THINGS will come back to balance and we can explore space, both inward and outward. Until then we are just silly monkeys splitting things in two and demanding both.

If you want to change anything start inward, bring it out through your actions and manifest it in reality.

THANK YOU so much for bringing these points up, you are right in your thoughts my man, but its all a matter of choice and we as humans are either going to evolve (love is in evolve) or we are going to die a horrific slow death that un-creates everything beautiful and amazing we have done.

All the little haters have to come out and show their stripes here on this thread. Most of these Toads that sit behind their computer in their mommy's basement couldn't even make it through basic training!!

Say what you want, The FACT is the military is supported by the great majority of people in this country. It's just the vocal sniveling minority you see in places like this or on the MSM. For those sane individuals who watched us get attacked on 9-11 and still do realize terrorists did it ( not George Bush for God's sake...please!! all you who believe it was an inside job, go smoke another bowl and make sure your MOM gets your laundry done right and cooks you dinner and tucks you in later) We will always need the military, instead of telling us vets how F'd up we are why don't you look in the mirror,at least we gave a # about something enough to make a commitment to it. Most of you on here can only commit to smoking your next joint..bunch of liberal pussies on here.

"Most of you on here can only commit to smoking your next joint..bunch of liberal pussies on here."

way to generalize an entire board and is part of the OP's problem. People who hate the military are generalizing. They are taking the few acts of individuals who have done our military a disservice and grouping them all together. Thinking in a way as this is unfortunately the norm as you have demonstrated.
I come from a proud military family and love our men and women who serve HONORABLY. The ones who rape and kill innocent civilians ON PURPOSE (all wars have civilian casualties unfortunately) will not ever, EVER, get any respect from me. Nor will the ones who may not have participated but stood idly by as another human being was treated like a dog. If you or any other soldier has a problem with that then so be it. It's YOUR problem.

Remember? Love each other, FORGIVE each other, ACCEPT each other... Thats sounds really liberal to me

Hello Wolfenz,

Thank you everyone for the lively discussion.

Lets do a fact check because some folks assume the details of what they read is probably true.

Reference to Senator McCain time on the ground after a flight to Hanoi and a bailout in Oct 1967. He stayed with others as a POW until the main group were repatriated in 1972, about 5 and 1/2 years
after his combat mission ended early.

See that rectangular hole in the wall? It's called a door. Do you have two feet and a heartbeat? Then walk out that door and move into the real world and put a stop to your anger.

But HOW would one go about "making real legitimate steps"? What are those steps?

From one to another, I agree. I am not sure if the feeling that all members of the military are militia wackos-in-waiting is shared by all Americans but it sure does seem to be pervasive in the press lately.

I get fired up at those ill informed Americans who think the ones who are the protectors are the threat themselves. The truth is they are so ignorant of the world beyond our borders, they cannot even imagine a threat exists.

So what, does that mean the "world beyond our borders" is nothing but "threats", or what? How come a lot of people from the "world beyond our borders" didn't like US action in Iraq?

I don't think the troops themselves are bad. I do think the politicans and so-called "leaders" that send them into those wars and decide on doing all these wars are bad.

Here ill tell you when, just after 2WW the cia was created, ever since you have killed millions of innocent people to further the agenda of "the greatest country on earth" this is when people in your name killed millions, over threw elected governments.

Put your veterns in the street after they killed for you, go around critisizing other countries that wish to control their own destiny. You arm Israel to the tits, and let them run rampant like the nazi's. You destroy the earth with polution and will not comform to saving the earth.

Brag about how great you are and if other dont agree you boast that its ok cause you could just kill us all and take what you want anyway. You dropped not one but 2 bombs killing hundred of thousands, and effected millions more with the fallout still to this day.

You use depleted uranium in your ammuntions which will cause human birth defects in afganistan and iraq affecting the next hundred generations of people living those areas. You kill and over throw every south american country with intent to rape and pillage its resoures. You install puppets and then kill again when they dont listen.

You smuggled Nazi's out of germany to use them in your own sick twisted agend of ruling the world, prosecuted the lower ranks to make it look as though you killed them there evil people. And lied to your own to keep it going stong. You respect death more than life. You respect your choice to kill people rather than work diligently to find a compromise to heated situations.

Shall i continue ok i will. You allow war criminals to run your country and get away with killing your soldiers in order to control the middle east. You allow these same rulers to laugh and mock you when you need healthcare, you allow your rulers to steal your taxes and use them to kill more people and soldiers. Your morals are #, your idols are fake barbie dolls, your agendas are of only death, your peoples are dumbed down and affraid of each other.

You buy and use guns like retards, you "shoot first" and ask later. You like the fact that you can watch war on tv like a effin game to be used as entertainment. Your media is brainwashed left or right BS. That any fool should be able to see through.

This was a fun list for me, im sure i could come up with a list of things that the "greatest country" in the wolrd has created/stole or invented that has bettered humanity, unfortunatly its fails to compair to the list of disgusting parasitic things you have done to the whole world.

When i watch a man in Africa on the news say that a regime killed his family tourtured him and cut off his arm, and hacked him almost to death with knives and macheties say "thank god we dont have oil, or the americans would be here too" it tells you a lot about the people and country you say is the "best".

How many killed this year cause of gang violence 3300 or some insane number, which is a direct cause of poverty, and racism.

Let me make my point, no one gives a f#$% , your leaders, your country no one. This is why your in the "Quagmire" your in, no one cares enough to do anything, the country is split in two because thats the way they want it, take it from your history books, you are the most ruled country in the world, with the least freedoms and are brainwashed to believe your are the most free.

Laugh my ass off you dont even take care of each other, and turn around and say that socialism is a terrible thing, well if socialism means we have to take care of each other, and socialism is evil then your all f#$%ed. Only the rulers are free, only the rulers get free health care and a golden check when they retire. Only the rulers are above the law and theres nothing you can do.

I will fight along side the citizens and protect the constitution as I swore to do so when I joined the army back in the day but im tired of hearing people write stuff like this, we all understand and nobody likes it but eventually actions will be taken!

Many of you do not understand the logistical nature of the task at hand or the resources in which it would take to complete the mission objectives. Yet you all whine and complain; and wish we all would be the ones to foot the burdens of Freedom for your benefit. I say you do not understand the true nature of defending freedom, or how much bloodshed it would take to secure that freedom. If you think these tyrants are just going to lay down their arms and control of a younger more indoctrinated force; you are sadly mistaken. For the past 12 years or so the US Military has done a very good job of getting rid of what we call "Old Dogs" and have trained instead robots that just follow orders to the letter no questions asked. Anyone in command that they deem would not follow through with their criminal orders have long given up their commissions or have been retired early (long in the tooth NCO's) etc.. hence the slogan formed "ARMY OF ONE"

Very well said. Regarding logistics, it would be an absolute nightmare. There would need to be organization on the national, state, and county level. The People would need to sacrifice their American Idol, Criminal Minds and the many other brainwashing distractions and actually get to work on making change. Change requires sacrifice. To make change, people would need to:
-Sacrifice family time
-Sacrifice personal time
-Sacrifice work time
-Sacrifice distractions, including message boards like these
-Sacrifice money to the cause instead of sacrificing money to the chains

There would most likely be many other sacrifices to be made. And that list is just the beginning. Implementing the logistics to make the movement successful would be chaos. Forming a movement and getting it rolling with 300 million people with 300 million opinions combined with die hard traditionalists and religious fanaticism would be the equivalent of trying to sail with no wind. Sustaining the required resources for an indefinite amount of time would be staggering.

I agree with you regarding the people that vent their anger(I don't want to call it complaining). The general feeling that I get from the numerous threads of that type is this: The author has vented his frustrations. Not knowing how or not having the capability to act upon their frustrations makes them more frustrated. In response, they vent with the rest of the people doing the same thing. It makes them feel better because they do not have any other options to do anything about it. Which brings us right back to the logistics you mentioned. I am frustrated as well. I feel like a rodent running on one of those circle treadmills!

Perhaps we the people should focus on learning logistics, organization, cooperation, teamwork, financing and any other skill or knowledge that will help the cause of change. With that knowledge, we the people can then begin to act on the apparent collective frustrations the people feel burdened by.

We need to learn how to make and implement change BEFORE we can make a change and implement those changes.

We will never give up our differences. Those are exactly what makes us different as humans. While the idea of putting others before yourself is noble, it is not exactly in tune with nature. I b4 U, as you put it, is a basic example of the NATURAL INSTINCT of self preservation, an instinct that every living being has.

It is easy to say that you would sacrifice your life for another. Are you truly willing to do that considering all the things you would leave behind such as your family and their welfare once you are gone.

Also, saying that ALL our problems are solvable by love is being naive. Reality is more complex than that. Our species problems might be solved through such things as sincere diplomacy, consideration for others, teamwork, and genuine social cooperation(OMG Socialism!!!). Loving a greedy or selfish person won't make that person any less greedy or selfish. More often than not, they will take advantage of the person that loves them.

These are just a few examples of the complexities of your rather simple statements. Your ideas are noble. Making them work would prove extremely difficult.

I agree with what you stated, though it is all solvable with love.
See if all turned to love it would be possible because no greed would be there to ave to turn around.

Would I die for someone else, YOU BET! My beliefs are such for many reasons. For one, if I die at all that means my journey was complete and it was my time. I chose not to concern myself with the way/date/time of death.
What important is that I did the best I could while I was alive.

We are further along then our furry friends and need to act in such a manner. We act in so many other way in opposition to nature, why not in a good way. And it is found in nature on many levels, elephants surround their young and stand shoulder to shoulder to protect each other, bee's sacrifice themselves for their hive, doves sacrifice one for their mate.

I see your points as valid but also still lacking, (not in vision or scope I respect the ideas) lacking in that its still a way of thinking from the past and not forward.

Bill hicks said it best here,

Its just a ride

Namaste and thanks for the thought and reply, great to question and find new answers in self and others.

I understand what you are saying now that you have elaborated. While I still believe that love would not solve all problems, I think the ideas I mentioned might have a chance. It is just very hard to solve those problems. What would you do with people who would not cooperate? Eliminate them? If not, than what? How can we eliminate the many negative behaviors of humanity? I think that is the paradox, as we cannot have positive behavior without negative behavior.

You are also correct that what I described regarding human nature are ways of the past, mainly the tribal mentality. Your animal descriptions are great examples. We as humans might be able to learn from them. They display the instinct of self preservation for their community as a whole. Similar but far advanced to the ideas that I posted regarding social cooperation, etc.
The one huge difference between us and them is our rational mind. We can
plan what we are going to do tomorrow, a year or a decade from now. Animals cannot and they live only in the moment, not caring about the past or considering the future.

Finally, I'd like to commend you on letting go of the fear of death. Very few people can do that. I don't want to sound philosophical but that is the only way to be spiritually free. --Applause--

Enjoyed communicating with you.

It's natural for those who've served to feel defensive of criticism of war; especially when they have served in wartime.

Who wants to hear that what they dedicated their identity to; their soul into; what they were ordered to do has some merit or worth as they were told from the moment they went to boot camp. Imagine what it must feel like to be performing your duties with honour and distinction, and then to hear people telling you that what you did was wrong and that you are a bad person for doing it. Who wants to be cast into a negative light because one or two of their brethren have acted badly, or taken too much enjoyment from the acts of war? They signed up for the notion of serving their country and protecting their homeland. They are not responsible for the decisions made by the hierarchies, but they are bound to carry them out. So they have to believe in it to some degree in order to be okay with what they do.

Now there is a true defensiveness when ti comes to war criticism. I hear a lot of people say things like "you don't support Your Troops" when you say you do not support the war. There is a distinction there that a lot of people overlook just because they are defensive about supporting the questionable choices that were made by their voted politicians; and they immediately attempt to shame the people who disapprove into silence by blanket-judging them for being a critic.

Fox News is not in any way a worthy source for anything; they twist and spin a lot of information, and take a lot of words out of context to create the message they want to send out. I disregard any Fox News clips used as evidence of anything. Ruppert Murdoch does not constitute the truth.

I do not see overt vitriol towards the soldiers at all. At the airport I see only kind smiles and grateful words. They are only doing their jobs.

When you hear someone bitching about the war, step back and don't immediately categorize them as soldier-haters. If you open your eyes and your defensive mind, you will see they're criticizing the war--and in part, our government.
