Mt. Etna Eruption ~ Local Coverage (latest event: Feb. 19 0500 local time! )

Cams cleared long enough to see a small explosion that registered on the webicoder. Dark smoke and ash. Took a screen grab and will upload later. This could be the 15th paroxysmal eruptive episode.
Will keep you informed.

Didn't see any 'pre-eruption' chatter on TheBigThink......is this one a bit out of the blue?

I think so. Several times the stats look like they are going down a bit like She really hasn't got the steam to do any more. But they went up again a few mins ago. At the moment She could go any way. There is a lot of smoke on the cams but sometimes you can see a small lava spot on Radio 7 second cam

This was the first clue I had that she might be going. That's when I first posted it.



The squiggly line at the bottom shows a rise of 3 or 4 off Her norm. At the moment that line is at 24.

Well, I just don't know what to think, she is trying very hard to fool me. Ststs went down a tiny bit, then this.

Mark is now up to 36 and still climbing. I think Silo has lest web conection as I know she was having problems.

Lava is showing on most cams now.

No don't start flicking cams on that sight. As I have said before, it will overload then we can't get valuble information. Stay on the etna cam sights.

Now up to 157 mark, this is the highest I have measured this. Still not peeked yet. If Silo could connect she would be able to tell us the extent of noise. She will finish on one almighty boom.

That's fine, it must be the weekest site around. It did just go down but back up for a while now. I think etna is starting to go down a little in intensity now but very difficult to see.
