Mt. Etna Eruption ~ Local Coverage (latest event: Feb. 19 0500 local time! )

Oh, God....wish I had never mentioned UFO's!

However, besides the pyramid anomaly/mystery.....this is getting weirder (is that a word? Have I spelt it right?)
Trying very hard to find a logical/geological explanation.....struggling....

Ok ok maybe just clouds, but they sure are weird.

Also, unless I'm missing something, I've had a couple of people U2U me about being careful because tomorrow is the 8th.

What's that supposed to mean? Is something supposed to happen on the 8th?

Well! I am stumped. Perhaps if we ask on the volcano thread.
The lines are back. I have taken several images and studied them. Part of the lines goes behind the smoke and clouds.

Just a thought, are they flight lines? Measuring the volcanic info and such? I dont know what made me think that, but there is a paper here on it, not that i understand all of it, might explain the lines tho

I thought that at first but they have been there to long, they lose their form after a few minutes. If you go to Cam 2 second one down they are still there. Sometimes you can also see them on Cam 6 Going behind the clouds they are not marks on the lens.

The mystery of Etna deepens! Oh heck!

I love a mystery I bet there is a very simple explaination.

There has to be....but I can't figure it, or find anything which might explain either phenomena. Are the black lines continuing? Could the camera be on a time loop repeating the same frame so to speak?

The time has updated to 20.03 and lines have gone off cam 6, but thicker lines (residue maybe) from the first cam are showing...I want to know what they are now

Just caught this....you can see the horizontal line, but there is also a vertical column there....can you see it? Like an updraft. I read that volcanoes make their own weather....is it true?

That is from a totally different side of Etna too!....Yes I can see the vertical column of cloud you are talking about. This is just getting wierder!

You all have me curious now! I just noticed the vertical column when I went to see the live cam after I read all of your posts....I tried to find out what can cause the horizontal "strips" but no luck so far....interesting! I wish there were a streaming feed instead of "shots", so we could record it uninterrupted.....is there one?

It's back, now I'm thinking it is a camera anomoly

this is the first one I took the other day, yes and it is about the same time too

I am starting to think that it is the camera/lighting making the lines and columns. This is from 8:20 am U.S. central time this morning. The column of light is there, and some other things as well. Beautiful pic too!

Can I say something a bit 'left field' here? Is it just me, or is it only us girlies mainly on this thread? What do 'boyz' know of volcanoes anyhow?!

Berkeleygal......they do look more like birds......but why same time both days......and sooooooo many? I know birdies have habits, but like Silo says, she has never seen so many together, and why only on this side of Etna? Oh oh, I'm starting to think they are not birds again, but they/it have to be.
Need a strong cup of tea....
