Just Seen 2 More Meteors/Shooting Stars....Have Pictures !!!!!!!

A few days ago, got shot down a wee bit.

For the past few days I have been looking, with my camera handy.
15 minutes ago ( 18:40 pm UK time) I seen another HUGE object streak through the sky, then seconds later a smaller one below it.
They were both heading south.
No noise this time.
The sun was out still.

The larger of the objects looked on fire, the smaller one looked like a shooting star. Just a small streak. The 2nd one appered as I was taking pictures of the 1st one.

But. they left a mark.

i manged to get the aftermath of both objects

Anyone near Edinburgh, Look up, they are still there !!!

Those look like plane contrails.

I agree, I believed you in the other thread but these just look like normal contrails from planes!!!

Edit to add: I spent ten minutes looking for sources to validate your calim!! I now doubt the whole thing, I feel completely cheated

I agree with the above posters, they do look awfully like aircraft con trails.

That's not a trail that a meteor would leave.

If it was supposed to be an April fools then you were A) Late, and B) Not very funny.

just come back from fife Edinburgh has had large thick grey cloud cover since early this morning, did you really take this pictures today, also they are contrails that you have pictures of.

Could you please explain why are the photos marked as having been taken in March 25?

I call HOAX. Given that you claim one date for the photos, but the Meta Data on the image proves a different date, it is clear that you are being less than honest.

This thread should be closed due to the OP providing deliberately false information in order to get a thread started.

Skepticism is fine but you guys are going way overboard.

Thousands of Meteorites fall into Earth atmosphere every day. EVERY DAY!

If the guy thinks those are trails from meteorites, who cares? He could be right.

But to call them plane contrails? You guys need to get your priorities straight.

Meteorites are normal mundane occurrence, stop thinking it's special or rare.

If he is right that means that something that looks like an aeroplane contrail may be a meteor contrail. In the same way, what looks like a meteor contrail may be an aeroplane contrail.

If he is wrong then those are probably aeroplane contrails, so knowing if he is right or wrong is important for future analysis.

Meteorites are normal mundane occurrence, stop thinking it's special or rare.

Aeroplanes are an even more mundane occurrence, so the possibilities are more on the side of the aeroplanes, right?

That is exactly what I said Muzzle, in the other thread he started but this just looks like he is trying to prove his sighting with aeroplane contrails. I am pissed about this, his evidence doesn't confirm what he told us, it debunks it.

I want an explanation.

Edit to add: I am now wondering whether the second member who claimed to have seen the 'same/or similar object' is in fact Shauny using a sock puppet account to reinforce his claim

Who you calling a sock puppet? You`ll get sock puppeted right up the backside in a minute son. Just messin mate, but yeah, I`m real, and I I did see a meteor the same night Shauny posted his thread.
Heading the exact same direction as the one he seen, and, at the same time as he stated in his OP.

I can vouch 100% he definitely wasn`t making up.

I think you`d have been better off not posting them for the sake of your integrity on the boards.

I`m not saying they aren`t meteor trails, but since they do look like contrails, you cant really blame folk for doubting.

With ATS`s abundant supply of ruthless sceptics, I wouldn`t bother with the hassle unless my pics were 100% conclusive of something worth reporting.

Still no explanation for why the OP claims a specific Time and Date for when he took the photos, but the Meta Data on the photos tells a different story entirely. That in and of itself, without even looking at the photos, makes this whole thread nothing but junk. It discredits everything.

I could show you a photo of Elvis and say that he is alive today, but if the photo is dated 1961 then my claims are rubbish. We see the exact same thing in this thread. Rubbish.

Can you tell me how to look at this Meta Data please Terapin, is it anything to do with right click/inspect element? Or is it on the page somewhere?

@ op, I followed your original post and now just saw this one, the exif data on your picture says it was taken on Thursday 25th of March at 19:29pm.

clocks went back an hour on saturday 27th so your camera times right for when it was taken...

so why are you telling us it was taken on the 4th of April (today)?


home.pacbell.net... here is the exif tool i use, its old and not fancy but it gets the dates right, and lots of other info.

Click on the first photo in the Original Post. You will be redirected to Image Shack and the photo will load. On the Right hand side of the Image Shack page there are a number of link and embed options as well as on the lower right where it states "Image Details" you will find the following if you open it:

Well this is a bit crappy to be honest.

Im not trying to prove a point.

2 objects, higher in the sky, flew past, about 10/15 seconds apart.

I didnt get the objects, but I got the trail.
ANYONE from the Edinburgh area will know that these trails go right over the top of Edinburgh Airport, going across the runways. So this rules out take off or landing.

I will not post any of this again.
I have spent the last week or so, glued to the window, with a camera, to try and see if i could get something.

I am NOT that desperate.

why ? because that is exactly what they look like.

2 objects shot past at top speeds, they cleared the whole sky in seconds.

Maybe I shouldnt have put metror/shooting star.
But I didnt know what else to name them.

Anyone else in the Edinburgh area today, SURELY would have noticed the amount of army helicopters going by was amazing.
