Although I was kind of hoping she would make her speech and be arrested and prosecuted for hate speech, too bad.

Anne Coulter is a visonairy who speaks truth to power!
also as a BESTSELLING writer she has broken the mold with her revolutionary writing style that has created a perfect storm for the democratic party.
This is just PROOF that Canadians hate FREEDOM! They denied Anne COulter an AMERICAN the right so speak!!! Lets hope their communist ways dont reach us and that the white light of liberty can protect us!

I'm sorry but I MUST disagree with you here. Being a freedom loving American and former republican, I must admit that it is people like Anne, Bush, Cheney and others that have completely turned me cold to the republican party. Now it wasn't the protesters that prevented her right to speak. It was the school that decided her safety was in question. Granted, that can be seen as you have stated it but it isn't the same. They protested her because of her lies my friend. If you can't see that she has lied or at least stretched the truth to benefit her and her parties extreme views then all that we will say against her will fall on deaf ears.

So who defines hate speech in the People's Republic of Canada?
I shouldn't pick on Canada, when we have the exact opposite going on here. One of our local universities has hired a terrorist to be the keynote speaker at one of it's events for Graduate students. Here's a man who got away with placing bombs in public institutions and killing a Police officer, but, is forgiven because his Socialistic views are in agreement with the current regime. I'd like to run him out of town on a rail, but, his right to free speech is protected.

Very well put. A view that most on either extreme of the spectrum seem unable to grasp. Anne is a spewer of hate filled words like many of the liberal speakers. Like many of the other conservative speakers *cough...Rush....*. It's a matter of free speech that these protestors used in order to win what they felt was a victory.

Regardless, stifling opposing viewpoints does little to inform or encourage critical thinking. This sets a much more dangerous precedent than anything Coulter could have said...

Maybe you should get the log out of your own eye first, guy who hates Anne Coulter's right to free speech and hates her so much that he wants her to be arrested for not agreeing with his sacred laws. Narcissist much? Who made you God Mr. "How dare you speak your mind! How dare you speak out against my OPINIONS!" Look up "opinions" in a dictionary forgetful and confused one. Hint: it's not "facts".
Security at the University of Ottawa scrapped the right-wing darling's talk when more than 2,000 students showed up to protest her telling a Muslim student Monday to "take a camel" as an alternative to flying.
Coulter's tasteless comment came after previously she told a gathering that Muslims shouldn't be allowed on airplanes and should take "flying carpets."
The camel quip came when Muslim student Fatima Al-Dhaher challenged Coulter on the remark - and told her she didn't have a flying carpet.
"What mode of transportation?" Coulter responded. "Take a camel."

As long as she's in Canada, she has to respect canadian law and customs just like every other canadian.
And I don't see any reason why she should be in canada in the first place. What kind of group wants to invite her to canada... that's fishy. She should just stay home and mind her own business.

Why is she in Canada, anyway, I guess someone wanted her there.
Was she invited?
I guess I will go find out,

University of Ottawa's letter to Ann Coulter
National Post Published: Monday, March 22, 2010
Dear Ms. Coulter,
I understand that you have been invited by University of Ottawa Campus Conservatives to speak at the University of Ottawa this coming Tuesday. We are, of course, always delighted to welcome speakers on our campus and hope that they will contribute positively to the meaningful exchange of ideas that is the hallmark of a great university campus. We have a great respect for freedom of expression in Canada, as well as on our campus, and view it as a fundamental freedom, as recognized by our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
