Show me a guy with a digital watch in the early 1900's and you've got me sold.

It seems that some Chinese tomb raiders, found something that will burst your bubble...

Archeologists in China are baffled after finding a tiny Swiss watch in a 400-year-old tomb. The watch ring was discovered as archeologists were making a documentary with two journalists from Shangsi town. “When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, a piece of rock suddenly dropped off and hit the ground with a metallic sound,? said Jiang Yanyu, former curator of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Museum. “We picked up the object, and found it was a ring. After removing the covering soil and examining it further, we were shocked to see it was a watch.” The time was stopped at 10:06am, and on the back was engraved the word “Swiss”, reports the People’s Daily. Local experts say they are confused as they believe the tomb had been undisturbed since it was created during the Ming dynasty 400 years ago. They have suspended the dig and are waiting for experts to arrive from Beijing and help them unravel the mystery. – ana The archeologists were filming a documentary with two journalists when they made the puzzling discovery. ‘When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, suddenly a piece of rock dropped off and hit the ground with metallic sound,’ said Jiang Yanyu, former curator of the Guangxi Museum. … The Ming Dynasty – or the Empire of the Great Ming – was the was ruling dynasty in China from 1368 to 1644. – chinadaily

There is something a little strange about this picture ... and for all the people who have said that no-one is paying any attention to him ... well that woman next but one to him seems very interested in his camera ... well I'm assuming it's his camera she's looking at.

She might be looking at the old man bottom right aswell. Perhaps he is her elderly father and shes concerned for him, its a warm day.?
People are looking for anomalies now deliberately and of course 'finding' them, because you expect them, maybe 'want' them to be there.
Power of suggestion.

My observations;
1-The one thing that worries me, is the guy who seems to be displaced by our "time traveler" if you look at the spacing of the people, it appears to me, that our time traveler is standing on this poor guys feet.
2-The sunglasses, are OK for the era (according to the pic 1940´s) Ray Ban, had several styles similar to the ones our "time traveler" is wearing.
3-It looks more like a sweatshirt than a t-shirt, and just for the sake of someone arguing, I´m going to say the M is from Michigan Univ.
Acording to Wiki, t-Shirts started having logos around the 1950´s
"In the early 1950s several companies based in Miami, Florida, started to decorate T-shirts with different resort names and various characters. The first company was Tropix Togs, under founder Sam Kantor, in Miami."
Sweatshirts however have been around since the 1900´s for football practice
"The sweatshirt was invented in the early 1900's by Russell Corporation of Alexander City, Alabama when the owner Ben Russell's son complained that wool shirts used in football pratice were uncomfortable. Russell then modified a version of an undergarmet into the earliest form of the sweatshirt. ""1938 - Russell begins making woven athletic garments, including basketball, baseball and football pants and jackets"
en.wikipedia.org...
4- As for the jacket he is wearing, looks like wool or lamb?

Maybe he'd already been there for a hour or so?
They can only stare so much.... maybe they just accepted him after while.

Lets run this train of logic all the way down the tracks shall we. In 2010, this man looks so out of place that it can be assumed he is a time traveler. In the 40s when it was taken, time travelers get boring after an hour and no one really cares anymore.
Hmmmm....

Not sure I can by that one.

Wow, that is a fair imagination you have yourself there ... see how logic can be equally speculative when none of us actually have any facts.

Definately talking into his hidden wristwatch communication device with his superiors in the future.
Hows this, its a grey alien, disguised as a human, time travellingto the40's to plant explosives in the ground to bring down the wtc on 9/11....
with a really long timer!

Indeed you are quite right. Merely putting forth an equally plausable reason for her to be looking in that direction that dosent involve a sudden overwhelming interest in some guys camera. Maybe one of the fellas
'goosed' her!?

Im gonna agree with you. The dude with the sunglasses was a decoy, it's the shifty dude who's smoking which is who we're really after

"I'm also quite worried for the old guy at the front right with the black hat and jacket. Is he still alive? He looks dead. I think he may need some medical attention."
I'm still laughing at that comment, i was thinking the same thing..lol

Now that is a logical suggestion

The car he is leaning on looks suspiciously like a time machine to me, disguised as an old car?
Timetravelling ETs are the cleverest of the lot, very sly.

Firstly, I don't think he is a time-traveller... secondly, he does look kind of out of place, but that may well be because everyone else is so smartly dressed.

In the 40s when it was taken, time travelers get boring after an hour and no one really cares anymore.

Why would anyone at the time have though him to be a "Time-traveller"?

As I said, maybe they looked at him for a while and just thought his clothes were a little odd?

I'm playing devil's advocate really... I don't know whether he's a time traveller but I'm almost positive he's not... although there is something odd about the pic, perhaps it's faked?

Good find blupblup, thats interesting, but once again, you know the drill...."wheres the data?" We have say so. We have cell ph footage of an older but similar looking man, with the same tattoo. We have a slightly disturbed looking old scientist who says pretty much 'yeah...maybe".
Father? older brother? No black holes or vortexes under the guys kitchen sink? He dosent return with evidence, nothing physical.
And did he fix the pipe?

That story is a fake...

It's a Swedish ad campaign for insurance I think?

I threw it in there as an example of how, with a story, you;re more inclined to accept what's being said.

That guy said he time-travelled and filmed his future self, so you kinda half believe it.

This "Hipster" in the OP's pic.... if nobody mentioned time-travel, I wonder if we'd even be discussing any of this.

Funny how people just readily accept things.

Sorry if you took offense. I thought you were playing devil's advocate and I was just taking it a step further. Apparently you were but do not like the idea of anyone entertaining the idea you proposed? Sorry.

It seemed to me you were saying that IF he had been a time traveler, maybe no one was looking anyone more because they already looked at him. Is that not what you were proposing?

I did not think you were really trying to explain him as a time traveler. I thought this was an open forum and if you could play devil's advocate then I could also take that and play with it a little.

Real sorry about that. I will not come back to this thread so as to not step on any more toes when people are playing devil's advocate and I read it as such and entertain it as such. What was I thinking?
