The fact that Mexican helicopters are flying across the border to the U.S. has a direct link to this.

The battles climaxed Tuesday with seven assaults against army positions that left 18 attackers dead across Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

The first came when gunmen ambushed soldiers on patrol between Matamoros and the border city of Reynosa, across from McAllen, Texas. An hour later, cartel gunmen used trucks and cars to blockade a garrison in Matamoros and the main army base in Reynosa.

Troops were ambushed six more times throughout the region, including once in Reynosa when soldiers rushed to check reports of another blockade near the offices of Mexico's state oil company. In each of the two deadliest battles, five gunmen were killed.

What is most interesting is that the Mexican government has requested assistance from all branches of the U.S. to assist and terminate all and any future attacks from the cartels. We can openly see that Mexico is simply unable to stop let alone use its forces to stop or contain the drug problem.

In short, most of the citizens living on or around the Mexican border are going to report more and more drones. This is but the first step as intelligence needs to be gathered as the intelligence given by the Mexican authorities is deemed as not sufficient or comprised. So i would suggest to any members who reside near the border to have a digital cam handy as its going to be an exciting year and years to come.

Oh so they want our help now? In the form of us allowing them to come over to our side with military choppers and guns. HUmmm lemme see here, they yelled and threatened if we were to build a wall, or fire on these illegals crossing over. They yelled and threatened saying that they were not responsible for their citizens dressing up in military get up driving over the border in military vehicles harming both our citizens and illegals on our side, so we were not allowed to do anything then. BUT now that they want to come over here we can help by allowing it?

Im sorry, my patience it entirely too thin.

I read yesterday that the N.M. gov. called in the National Guard to protect the border there, I hope all the states do the same. As far as I am concerned, if the Mexican government can not controll the drug cartels any better then the country has fallen and exchanged hands now being led by the cartels.

I say Game on!

can we please put a few guys with barretts out there in that region of the boarder. no more helicopters, no more trucks with drugs freely coming and going. and put down just one mexican drug cartel guy or smuggler with a barrett of a lapua and the word will get around. they are not called area denial weapons for no reason. even terrorists and crazy talibani know to get out of dodge when they think a dude with a barrett is out there waiting for them.

Just a side note: it's "Holy Week" here in South Texas,San Antonio to be specific...BIGGEST week of the year for retailers.Literally, "Mexican Nationals" come by the Mercedes-full up here to shop and they shop BIG.

I kid you not when I say cash only and suitcases full of it,I have seen it and have many friends who own stores who are literally in shock when some guy who has his daughters, wife, girlfriend, and Mom with him drops 25K-50K in cash in an afternoon...I was in a store on Monday and saw a 10K cash transaction myself.

(of course a US citizen would most likely be arrested on the spot should they display such an obscene amout of cash right about now?)

The stores actually have a call-around list and let each other know when a spender is coming thier way.

I do NOT think there should be helicopters from ANY other country flying over the US,it's wrong IMO but wanted to throw out a bit of another "perspective" from an area close to the border on the issue?

It's alllllllllllllll about money regardless of how it's "made"...if they're spending that much on shoes and purses imagine where else the cash is going???

This goes to show you that the war on drugs is a godamn lie.

If we were serious about the war on drugs we'd have troops on the border.
And we'd crush the cartels that bring drugs across the border.

although, I have a hypothesis as to why there is drug related violence increasing among the mexican cartels. Much of the drugs (Mainly cannabis) that was once being brought over the border is now produced locally. Nobody needs the mexican imports nor the stuff they grow in guerilla fields in the US, now that medical cannabis is a industry run and controlled by US citizens, locally. All he growing is being done now without any mexican rug cartel support.

The cartels are now having to war with each other to secure that their product will be bought by the smugglers, and not their rivals. in the past the tension wasn't as tight because it was a bigger pond, enough to go around for all the cartels. now the ponds drying up and the same fish are fighting over who gets to sell their product to the middleman, which there are less of now. In a way it's like rats attacking each other on a sinking ship over who gets to stand on the deck and not be buried in the water. but are too stupid to realize the boat is sinking.
