'Slaughter Solution'

Who comes up with these “hide under your blanket” or “flee in terror” terms?

Wow…

Nobody on this thread or anywhere else for that matter have to receive lessons from someone living in KOMMIEFORNIA.

Stay in your bankrupt and ignorant state, we don't need ya.

And the whole ``people without health care are dying`` has been debunked hundreds of times, so go back to your communist holyland.

A reform is welcome, but a good one, settling for lower would be weak and put us in even more trouble.

The bill has to be passed before April, now as for the bill itself is nothing but the biggest bailout for the private insurance company with our corporate run government intervention.

Mark Levin was talking about this on his show tonight (Thursday). According to him, the proposed method doesn't pass Constitutional muster. He actually cited certain articles in the Constitution that make the method un-Constitutional.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to get his remarks until after they’re posted tomorrow.

I doubt that matters much, since the bill they're considering passing via unconstitutional methods is unconstitutional itself.

House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is the person who first expressed the idea.

For those of you who think this bill is actually about healthcare. Do you think Pelosi really gives a rat's ass about poor people receiving healthcare?

If they try the "Slaughter Solution" there will be Constitutional lawyers like Mark Levin on the Supreme Courthouse steps faster than you can say "corrupt" demanding a stay and emergency hearing.

Oh, and when the Supreme Court inevitably rules that the move was unconstitutional and strikes it down, then the GOP and some Blue Dogs will move to impeach Obama on constitutional grounds.

You aren't serious... this is named after House Rules Committee Chair Louise Slaughter.

But thanks for stoking the paranoia oven.

That was my first thought. They would have to vote anyway, so why go through this slaughter vote thing? Are they that lazy and incompetatnt in congress? careless and reckless?
My 2d thought was, it sounded kinda like one person would decide on it. That in effect, without any vote, is a dictatorship then

Have you been asleep for the past few decades?

I guess it is time to wake up. Perhaps you have not studied the executive orders Bush and Obama have been signing.

California pays more into the Federal government than it receives. What state do you come from? I'm guessing one that takes California's money. Like North Dakota. Way to contribute to your country! It's not that you don't need California, it's that California really doesn't need you. We can grow all our own food. We have the richest agriculture production in the nation. We can stop supporting all those states that do nothing but take take take. We're a country all by ourselves. Time to stop wasting our resources on ungrateful people.

What the House is doing is perfectly legal according to Congressional rules and protocols and has, in fact, been used many times by Republicans.

But if you hate everything about the bill and everybody who is trying to make positive change in this country then you shout "foul" over every normal procedure of Congress.

Haven't you ever heard of majority rule? It's what happens in democracies.

Nobody is cheating because the Republicans haven't won. They're just in the minority.

Eh jack, maybe you don't know this but the US AIN'T A DEMOCRACY.

Democracy is BS. It's the majority rule and the others are screwed. It's mob rule.

The founders knew this, you obviously don't.

That's why the US is a CONSTITUTIONNAL REPUBLIC, where EVERYONE CAN DO WHAT THE HELL THEY WANT WITHOUT BEING BULLIED BY THE OTHER 99%.

*SNIP* Democracy ain't ruling in America, REPUBLIC IT IS.

I heard about the republicans wanting to use the reconciliation rule to approve a Justice (which is just as bad as the democrats using it for health care) but I'm curious how often they've done things like this, or reconciliation. My question is borne of ignorance, because I honestly don't know, so do you happen to have any lists of when these tactics were used?

I'd welcome both republican and democrat usages. Personally, using or threatening to use it even once outside of procedural compliance is a slight in my opinion, and avoiding parliamentary rules for the sake of "getting something passed" isn't acceptable, from any party. We have standards and procedure for a reason, and it's ridiculous for anybody to feel like they're "above the law" when it comes to these procedures simply because they don't have the votes for something.

If there aren't enough votes for something, chances are, there's a reason. It's sickening to me to see that these things go on.

How can forcing people into supporting private insurance companies by mandate is constitutional, where is is the freedom of choice.

Answer that for me.

Without a public option the health are bill is nothing but another big corporation bail out.

California is the most screwed up state in the Union. It makes New York look perfect in comparison. Chuck Schumer is only halfway as demented as Comrade Nancy.

Not exactly an alarming video tbh. Maybe you should educate yourself on what is actually in the bill. It's painfully obvious you have no clue.

If this healthcare bill passes I predict that there will be a Massive exodus of

businesses out of this country to South and Central America as well as other

parts of the world.

Ladies and gentlemen remember what I say if this bill passes it will not affect

the rich and elite like you think because they have the money to flee to other

parts of the world that do not have this enforced taxation and bondage. The

business owners will be thinking why start a business when they are forced

to have to pay for their employees healthcare and all the illegals and the rest

of the millions of people on government run healthcare at the expense of

going to jail if they do not.

Wait until the average worker that receives there pay check from their job

looks at the amount that will now be taxed from their pay check next year.

The Bush tax cut will no longer be there in 2011 and if you do not think your

pay check will dwindle because of additional taxes due to government run

and control every aspect of your life healthcare we all have another think

coming.

What would you call the purchase of a healthcare plan that you pay for 5

years in advance before you could use the limited and restricted benefits of

that plan?

Surely this is not a way of buying votes for the illegals that will get the same

benefits as any American citizen. Surely all these illegals won't become

citizens when the amnesty program goes into affect or will they, and have the

right to vote. LOL

This one bill if passed will go down as the biggest loss of freedoms this

country has ever seen and it has been done behind closed doors and against

the will of the majority of the American people. Do you really and truly

believe that they want you to know what is in this bill and how it will affect

your life?

This land is my land, this land is your land or should the song go that land

was my land that land was your land. ^Y^

Oh, and when the Supreme Court inevitably rules that the move was unconstitutional and strikes it down, then the GOP and some Blue Dogs will move to impeach Obama on constitutional grounds.

And exactly what high crimes or misdemeanors would Obama have committed by the House passing a bill? Some people really should look up what are impeachable offences in this country.

When the House or Senate does something, that is the Legislative branch doing it. It does not translate to the Executive branch. If the House of representatives goes with the "Nuclear Option" on this, it is not a crime, and it's certainly not one that can get the POTUS impeached.

Of course if you actually read the constitution you might understand that. But PLEASE let the GOP try and Impeach the POTUS on something the House of Representatives does. It would be political suicide.

So how would that letter to your representatives go?

The House is planning to implement the "slaughter solution" so I demand as your constituent that you bring up articles of impeachment against President Obama immediately.
