The equivalent of about $60,000 isn't anything amazing my friend. More than I have.. (obviously) Not anything really anyone has to lie about, we aren't pulling out and measuring here.

Maybe to someone earning 50k plus and experienced in the stock markets but a newbie? Sorry it doesn't ring true, then with his following post being an attack... Screaming Troll, just my honest opinion.

Screaming Troll???

I don't happen to agree with the OP, so anything I post is a lie and i'm a troll??

Although I have difficulty in seeing why you don't agree with me, I can't see how what you have written is "trolling". You ask fair question and I seek to answer them.

Incidentally, what do you do for a living?

Show me anything historically that would be contrary to my opinion about big business moving into Canada from the USA? You would be hard pressed to IMO.

You don't think people have IRA's or 401k's that are multiples of that amount?

You are seriously parochial and should explain yourself better.

To someone in England...

- IRA is a terrorist organisation that blows up Irish Policemen
- 401k is the weight of a small car.

I lolled!!
)

What is an accredited investor?

EDIT:missing words :S/ I googled accredited investor... I will grab my coat!

We are 14 or so days from 24th October 2010.

Count back 14 days prior to 19th October 1987 and you have 4th October 1987 when everyone was happy and jolly and the sun shone in the sky.

Hardly the case aristocrat2.

With all due respect , if you aren't old enough to remember Oct 1987...perhaps you should research before making such remarks.

In 1987 I was a 40yr old buy & hold market participant that managed to escape the Oct carnage. If need be , I can describe the Oct 1987 climate in vivid detail.

The Wall St. Banner for 1987 should read: Cocaine , Corruption & Overvaluation.

By Oct , investor confidence had been rocked by a rash SEC insider trading investigations resulting in numerous stiff prison sentences for high level Wall St. figures. Investment banks were laying-off large blocks of personnel. The DJIA was selling-off on heavy volume from the 2722 record high posted 6wks earlier (DJ didn't recapture 2722 until 1989) , and bond yields were approaching 10%.

By Oct 4, fear was palpable , and on Oct 19 the reaper delivered.

The previous Summer, the market had toped out, but no-one really believed that it would crack 30% or so in two days. And people were more worried about personal redundancy caused by investment bank rivalry and the "Big Bang" and insider trading than a stock market crash.

There is more to life than "big business'. Find me a true born Ontarian who doesn't have a couch for sale or a true born Quebecker who isn't mending up his neighbour's car.

This is a land where everyone is a private landlord and fear of doing business with the separatists has forcesd them into being homegrown with business to a large degree. And ALberta? Built on oil sands and beef. It would be inconvenient to tell the rest of the world to f**k off, but Canada could do it if it had to.

OK you sold me.

I rather be up there in the summer's anyway, along with your lax laws regarding with what I like to do in my spare time. Nice golf up there too, hopefully will see you at the TSX perhaps.

There are various reasons that I don't agree with you Aristocrat, but I respect your right to post your opinions, I just wish you had labelled your thread less sensationally, the 25th March will see the facts of the Matter though.

As to what I do for a living.....I'm retired....I retired at 44 after an accident at work which resulted in a large compensation payment, that coupled with an inheritance several months ago has left me in a position to live fairly comfortably, and to be in a position to invest a small portion of my capital into a more unpredictable environment.......I was genuinely asking for your opinion on that by the way.

So it pisses me off when some no mark accuses me of being a troll and a liar.

Argyll, I am sorry I called you a liar about your investments. I know nothing about what you have/have not invested in stock. I guess I saw many attacks on the OP because he used the word 'DOOMSDAY' and I felt the title was side tracking the real point of the thread. I took it out on you because I thought you were just testing the OP asking for advice you did not need.

I apologise again dude and wish you all the best with your investments.

It's the mark of a man to apologise when he's made a mistake.

I accept your apology

No hard feelings.

I think everyone could learn a thing or two about "aristocrat" from his profile. Where he claims to be a sicilian mob member, then he says he's a supervisor for a fishing protection agency both threads oddly labeled, appeal from a con and appeal from a cod. Also both have nearly the same starting dialogue and alot else to go with. He also said that there would be an iminant stock crash on febuary 2 with this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

So in short this guy's theory holds up like a wet paper bag. His thread history is proof of that. Anyone else wanna look into this just click his name! This thread should be closed because it's just made to gain flags and stars and has no shot at an honest debate because the facts are unfounded. Now what I would love the ATS mod's to do is to start getting rid of threads like this. I mean it was pretty easy to figure out this guy is a spammer, so why can't the mod's do it?

Also if aristocrat would like to explain why he has a bunch of similar threads in his profile I'd be happy to hear it. Also I'd like to know how a fishing protection supervisor has time to also be a sicilian enforcer and then has time to blog about it on a website.

There's nothing wrong with the Dollar collapsing. If anything it will help our cause! We're going to have to basically start from scratch, because we've screwed up so bad. There isn't enough money to pay off any debts, so we'll have to erase them, and if we erase them, we can start new! Too bad it had to get this intense before we could make a change.. But I just think it's all part of a new beginning.

i agree. This is what we need to really help wake up the rest of the citizens. of course most of them will still be on "snooze", but this is one step of rebuilding our country. I just don't like the fact that someone always has a specific "date" for impending doom. lmao

Coool !

That's my prophecy of March... I was waiting this one, since no war happened on February...

But instead of the prediction of february, this one is less explicative... I mean there is only few reason mentionned and where are the sources ?
Even Nostradamus is more accurate than you...
So if nothing happen on the 25th of march, are you going to leave ? what are you for saying such things ? A trader who want to destabilize the market ?

Waiting for more sources or proof... see you on the 25th march!

Yeah, he told me he owned a company and was a screen-writer...but only has $142.00 to his name. Wow, he must wear many hats, huh? What a guy! not

Exactly it's extremely difficult to believe anything from a person that has this much non-sense in his profile. I mean it's rediculous that people actually think this guys credible.
