I never drank soda because I never could quite figure out what it was. It isn't milk, it isn't juice or water. Just seemed a strange burning concoction to me.
I noticed almost all the major illnesses we see so frequently in modern society popped up almost immediately after the fast food chains like Carrols, McDonald and Burger King became so popular. The only thing in them we had not had in large quantity before was those sodas.
And I think they are using drug like chemicals to make these drinks addictive to the consumer. When I saw my sister wake her husband out of bed to send him to the store for a 64 ounce bottle of coca cola - I knew there was more to this beverage than they are putting on the label.

I stopped drinking soda several years ago. I just quit it cold turkey and my health was grateful. I became fit without much of a fuss, really, becoming fit was almost ridiculously easy thanks to the subtraction of soda from diet.

That being said, my health is rather poor lately, due to some injuries and other factors, and I do occasionally drink soda, though it's pretty rare that I do.

The other day, against my better judgment, and due to the fact that the fridge was absent of tasty beverages like orange juice or teas, I decided to start drinking a 2-liter of Schwepps Ginger Ale. I don't mean I chugged it, but I just started having a glass here, a glass there, just to have something tasty to drink.

Well, it's been a week, and that 2-liter is just about empty and a curious thing happened. My health and perception is completely skewed. First of all, I feel physically drained, a little depressed, etc. My skin is very dry, I've started to get dandruff, among other skin issues. Not to mention... I'm Sick.

I'm sick for the first time in a Long Time. I have a head cold, or the onset of a sinus infection. Just your basic run of the mill accumulation of mucus and so on. This hasn't happened to me in so long, not all of this, all at once. This is the first time where I have regularly consumed a soda beverage in probably over 2-3 years.

This stuff is poison. High Fructose Corn Syrup in and of itself is not really a horrible thing. But it's in EVERYTHING. Every single food you eat, even in foods where HFCS has no business being in, it's there. It's there because the government subsidizes corn and corporations need to start using it. But that's another topic.

Suffice to say, I'm going to war with soda again, after this little misstep.

High fructose corn syrup and vegetable oils are in EVERYTHING nowadays. This is no surprise. The medical community and the RDA don't know their arse from their elbow anymore.

Eat food that is as close to nature as possible. That's what I try to do. Raw milk, raw butter, lots of fruits and veggies, grass fed beef, etc. Did you guys know that MOST almonds in the store that are labeled "raw" actually are not??????? They are often heated, chemically cleaned or irradiated.

Don't be fooled by this, it is a smokescreen for the real cause.

Type 2 diabetes did not exist before the 1930's...

You shouldn't be fooled either....Type II diabetes didn't exist because there was no distinction between the types. You see, insulin wasn't discovered until 1921. It was simply a disease of high blood sugar; before that, it was glycosuria (sugar in the blood). Diabetes Mellitus literally means "sweet urine".

The demographics suggest a coincidence.

1930's Type 2 diabetes first described and diagnosed.
1930's heat/chemically treated vegetable oils are introduced because of mid-war shortages of staple traditional oils.
2010 Type 2 diabetes has spread to every country and is growing without a known common factor.

Oils are cheap and invisible...
...and they are at the basis of almost all endrocrine diseases...
...because the metabolic products of oils build cells.

The whole thing is reversible...
...I have seen it done by simply switching back to cold pressed unrefined Flax, Coconut, Butter and Fish oils.

Deadly Diabetes Deception.

No, the "demographics" suggest a correlation between the discovery of insulin and the distinction between the 2 types of diabetes. It really is that simple.

If you review the history BEFORE insulin was discovered you'll notice that, based on symptoms, incidence frequency and dietary associations, type 2 diabetes was well and alive, which is in complete contradiction to your suggested hypothesis.

Remember, correlation does not imply causation.

You may well be right.

The thing that puzzles me is how strongly people react to this.
While I have seen the condition completely reverse by switching oils.

Am I to believe the witness of my own observations...
...or the uninformed opinion of skeptics who have never tested the hypothesis.

Decisions, decisions.

I don't understand the skeptics, I really don't. I understand that some are just arguing the basis of studies and trying to keep the Deny Ignorance flag waving at all times. For the sake of integrity.

But what's at loss here, if some people choose to believe the anti-Fast Food, anti-HFCS theories? They stop consuming this junk? Oh no. Heaven forbid people decide not to consume complete crap. Let's scold them for it too.

"Haha, he won't drink that 65oz. jug of soda because he's afraid of HFCS. Haha, what a tool, he doens't know what he's talking about, corn syrup is fine in moderation, the commercials say so."

The rest of us will try to keep this stuff out of our diets, the folks who just want to be skeptics and scold us, well.. you can continue eating and drinking whatever you want, no one is trying to stop you.

Yes I find tis black/white thinking erksome...
...I put up info on something I know works...
...I have qualifications and observation skills equal to the task...
...ans some pinhead disagrees because it doesn't sound right...
...or goes against the common wisdom.

Great men like Sir Isaac Newtom made a difference because they called common wisdom into question...
...where are those people now?

Skeptism and Atheism has become the new fundamentalism...
...both define themselves by a negative stance...
...and are the real conspiracy for ignorance in my opinion.

Good thing i stopped drinking soda in 2008
just so you know everyone i to, was drinking it like crazy, thanks to soda it caused me

Minor Acid reflux case, doc stated its a minor case, due to scanning i took like a health worry nut lol, if it wasn't for the wake up call i had, it could have been much worse, since at first time at the hospital i was burping like crazy, funny how none of them knew acid reflux not GERD :p

Gerd is a more serious case, i got acid reflux because of my lifestyle due to unhealthy diet i took, but now slowly i am coming back with progress.

If you want my advice Throw away that soda stuff now! and think for your health.
