You are correct . . . but how?

They have the Press's ear. They have the pulpit for now. It is an honest question, I am up for suggestions, and I will forward those suggestions on to our organizers!

I have been considering starting my own newsletter with my local Tea Party's endorsement. I have some friends in the printing business, and ATS is a wonderful source for articles. I have the theme in mind. Do you think it could work? And, do you think it could grow to grab some MSM attention? Got any other suggestions that are cheap?

If you want to make a popular magazine to send a message, make it have a broad area of news. Understand why some newspapers are popular, and why others aren't. Although it is tea party based, make it not to tea partyish. I think it could work. If enough people here a message, you will find out that you are the MSM.

Run them for office and vote. Teach your children the truth at home and immunize them from the brainwashing in the public schools. Study history and teach it to your children. Good things don't come easy or fast. Life is not a video game with instant gratification.

I'm sorry you don't see that something is terribly wrong with the country, but there is. It is heading toward tyranny

I don't think our country/government is perfect...but I really don't think it is that bad. I ask this all the time...I asked it in my last response...Please just tell me what is sooooo wrong. What is it that is terribly wrong with our country?

There is nothing wrong with our system. The problem is with those in power, who defy our system every day. Do you think those who penned the Constitution foresaw things like the "Nuclear Option", Political Parties controlling the media, the stripping of our sovereignty and that we would ever consider the UN or taxation so high it drives our economic engine, the manufacturing base, to other countries.

We simply need to go back to what we were. How do we get there is the question. Our Grandparents knew and now the schools are doing everything they can to rewrite history to make our young ignore history and trick them into thinking they are smarter than those with more knowledge and wisdom.

Listen to the lessons of history and there is hope, ignoring them will lead to our own demise.

We know what works. It made us the Greatest Nation ever to exist. The insane idea that somehow repeating past mistakes is progress or progressive is insanity to put it mildly.

[edit on 3/8/10 by Marked One]

No other country will ever attempt to overthrow the American people. Our own government has achieved it after a couple of hundred years of eroding our rights, but it is not possible to do it by force, not even after a Revolution or Civil War. The French and Spanish did not attempt it in the early 1800's. Nobody attempted it after the Civil War. Even the Germans and Japanese avoided it in the two Great Wars. The Japanese made an attempt on Pearl Harbor that they fully regretted!

Are you really in Chernobyl? No smartaleck remark, just interest. My buddies that grew up in the USSR say they were taught in grade school that the mighty USSR military could crush the US military in a matter of months, but they were fully aware that they could never conquer or rule the people on this continent, and therefore they would never attempt an invasion. I tend to believe that sentiment for the same reason that I believe the US military was never confident that it could defeat the Soviet military in Europe. No foreign country ever has!

Internal Revolution or sneaky take-over . . . yes, but invasion . . . never!

---

I beg to differ on

Internal Revolution or sneaky take-over . . . yes, but invasion . . . never!

All some big country like China has to do is to secretly build
200,000 Nukes (Which they can actually do because they have the
engineers and resources!) and we lose! NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT!

And based upon a unique understanding of that culture
(i.e. the concept of Saving Face) they WOULD NOT BACK DOWN!
And with superior numbers we lose....so don't go assuming
that we (i.e. America) can't lose or can't be invaded...Rome
tried that evenue of thought and 200,000 Visigoths blew it apart
after some mere and mostly mild internal economic and religious
strife and political breakdown...America is NOT IMMUNE to the
same causality of internal strife and STRONG-WILLED INVADERS!

It doesn't take much...give me 100,000 trained men with
Guerrilla Warfare training, some small nukes, good maps
and night vision gear and I could bring America to it's KNEES!
And then I could KILL IT after it begs for mercy!

It's all about WILL...and there's not enough STRONG WILL
in today's America that would actually make a difference
in a war or invasion by another strong willed enemy.

THE ONLY THING that prevents another country from invading us
is our NUKES....THAT'S IT! and VERY SOON that will no longer be a
barrier to someone STRONG WILLED ENOUGH to unleash enough
Armageddon to OBLITERATE US FROM THE EARTH...so I suggest
you all get off your high horses and change your own lives first
before we willy nilly start an internal BLOODY revolution that
would only weaken us in the long-term and bring us to
a fascist or totalitarian dictatorship on the short run.

aka Be careful what you wish for...YOU MIGHT GET IT !!!!

Okay. I am going to be the bad guy here. The author is mad because he had a very left wing agenda in mind that he thought Obama, Pelosi, and Reid were going to get done for him and it didn't.

A lot of his pet peeves are very divisive and may well gather as many people for it as against it (gay rights, government run healthcare, fewer people in prison, amnesty, just to name a few). Some have popular appeal but are not easily solveable (big corporations, war, too much money for too few, and a crappy economy).

Some of the stuff he is angry about, I am angry about too. But if he thinks that he has outlined the agenda for a populist revolution, he is going to find that his fellow revolutionists are going to be him, a few tenured profs at Berkeley, and some rich white kids who show up in BMWs.

White armchair academics are lucky, because they have the exclusive right of denying this, while enjoying freedoms and wealth billions of people in this world would be ready to kill for. Maybe one day, when someone points a gun to their head and takes their money away, they'll understand what makes the world go 'round.

The Capitol could be taken and held indefinitely with no more than 10,000 well trained men and that includes a 2400 man mission as a distraction of epic proportions. So 7600 in DC. I will not discuss details but suffice to say it would work.

Currently there are close to 5 million Americans that are both armed and ready, waiting for a sign that it has begun. 5 million sounds like nothing, especially considering they are not organized nor even in contact with one another. Scattered about like grains of sand across the country. However 5 million is roughly 3 to 1 compared to the total number of currently active military personnel. Calling up all active reservists and inactive reservists brings the total number to 7 million vs 5 million (assuming others do not join in and 100% participation from the military).

Slaughtering 5 million Americans by the military on our soil can not be covered up. It can not be explained away like Islamic terrorism or even Domestic terrorism and be believed. It will cause questions to be asked that cannot be answered. At least not to the satisfaction of the public. The results would be something like a battle of 65-85 million versus 10-15 million. America as it is known today, would be over.

Whatever rises from the ashes though, is anyone's guess. I somehow doubt that it would be any different corruption-wise in 50 years time. In the meantime, close to 225 million will have suffered personally. The rest will have left, because they could.

Revolution is not an easy answer. It is not even a decent answer, but it may come to pass regardless what I or anyone else has to say or believes. May there be mercy on us all and that it is a short lived situation.

There is a good way to bring the government to it's knees that I don't believe has been brought up. Starve the red eyed monster. There are 2 months before tax day, so why not start a tax revolt. There isn't a lot of time but it can be done, the tea parties were started by a 30 second rant on CNBC. If the politicians need to pay some bills they can sell their own organs to pay for their incompetence. Secondly do an address search on your elected officials and run their addresses through a service such as property shark, you never know what you might find. I did this with Maurice Hinchey and found that 2 of his homes have questionable sale and purchase prices. Can someone think of a legitimate reason why he would sell his house at 67 Brucken Rd Hurley NY for $10.00 when the full market value is 355,806 or the purchase of 31 Old Powder Mill Rd Saugerties NY for $1.00 with a full market value of $350,000. Or the sweet inside deal he tipped his business partner off to on the location of the new Army Reserve building that he just happened to purchase soon before the Army made it's determination on where to build it. Or this one, Hinchey and his buddy from the reserve base are in another deal in town of Saugerties with a very wealthy horse breeder Tom Struzeri. They are trying to build a "conference center" on the site of an old mill maybe 5 minutes from Struzeri's horse competition center. This one is costing all of you, Hinchey was able to divert federal funds to this one. Or Hincheys Solar Energy Consortium that he is financially involved with receiving federal and state money to bring a solar panel company to the area, just what we need more low paying jobs so he can line his pockets further. He has additional houses in NY but not all counties are covered with the property search service I use and Zabasearch is good for the address searches. This took me about a total of 1 1/2 hours to compile just think of what you can find.

Nukes are out of the question. An invasion is to seize resources. After nuking the population and all the fertile soil, and making the whole place unliveable, what is the point?

The idea of an invasion is to seize all the taxpayers, laborers, and natural resources as intact as possible, and that is basically impossible in the U.S., because we are so well-armed, high spirited, and just plain ornery! LOL!

Nukes are a good deterrent because of our strike back capability, but offensively they are worthless.

A third party is just a first step, something to use to make enough American voters start to realize they have choices if they care to look into the matter. From there the ideal in my view is that parties themselves go away.

Each individual politician should have to advance him or herself based on the platform of the largest segment of his or her voters, or in the case of the senate, the best interests of his or her state. Parties, or other groupings that modify the platforms of elected officials, and their appointees in exchange for money, favors, and other forms of support should become illegal.

If anything, there should arise an anti party. A group which has as it's only purpose protecting people who have as their sole purpose investigating all potential, present, and past officials for any sign of deviating from the desires and needs of their constituency and upon finding such, ensuring any of said constituency who cares is made of aware of the indiscretion.

Ideally said constituency would then have the tools needed to make the rogue official suffer until such time as he or she is replaced, and then make the discredited ex official regret having neglected his or her duties.

People lauded Scott Brown's election as some kind of victory. He's a Romney pit creation. That's no victory. This year should be the year everyone get's their panties in a bunch and votes Republican. If you think it will accomplish something you are naive.

You want some kind of change? Get a real third party.

I agree that a third party needs to be created, but would it be the suggested Tea Party? Most Americans are too lazy to consider going through the democratic process in order to create a new party. It really does take alot of effort when you consider that the two parties we have are similar to a mega-corporation. Although I would hate to see a bloody revolution (which is horrible beyond imagination) I think it may come to that. History will decide if we made the right decision either way.

Really? And their supplies would come from where? They would be starved into surrender in under a week. People can talk all they want...a revolutionary group just does not have the logistics in place to do anything.

I also think your 5 million Americans armed and ready to fight is a gross over-estimate. I would say you would be extremely lucky to find 5,000 that you could unite under one cause. Unless of course all these revolutionaries are willing to compromise their "morals" to join forces with groups that have less than "moral" goals.

And when whatever group would take arms against the government and was totally wiped out...I really don't think there would be any shock from the American public...I actually think there would be praise for the government in protection our way of life. I think I would probably be in that group. As I said before, what we have now is not perfect...but at least we know what we have. After a "revolution"...who knows what would come out of that. So yeah...I'll stick with what I know...even if it is not perfect.

I think this Kid is on to something. I might have to move to Alaska. Simple and to the point non-aggressive action anyone can understand and be a part of.

Just another problem for you revolution supporters. Only around a thousand more to deal with. Starting to see the problems with this idea yet?

5 million: There are currently about 305 million US citizen in the US. If you honestly think that 1.6% of the population is not violent and deranged enough to take up arms following the lead of a group that performed a successful raid on the Capitol Building as well as some unnamed significant secondary targets, I don't know what to tell you. 1% of our population is currently in prison if that gives you a rough idea. So I am not talking regular soldiers. Those are your Billy Bubba's and gang bangers as well as various paramilitary groups and lone nutcases. The kind of people most people don't like to think about, but know they are out there. More of a rabble settling vendettas than a fighting force. But a force that would have to be subdued before it became too far out of hand.

I did say 7600 could take the Capitol. I will not elaborate how to do it and how it would be held. Food is not the key here. 700,000 would not hold a Campbell's Soup factory for more than 3 weeks if food was the key. All the food in DC would be gone in 3-6 days if no trucks resupplied the city. Because the population of DC itself would eat it all. When I say indefinitely held, it would take a vastly superior force to remove them was entrenched. More than likely a magnitude of 25-35,000 troops. The military would not do surgical air strikes because of what is in the Capitol.

Besides, water is far more vital than food to survival.

Also if you read the rest of the post before replying. I by no means advocate this sort of action. In fact, I dread that it will occur. I thought I made that abundantly clear. But I was also clarifying that it would take far less to take the Capitol in response to the estimate of 100,000 trained men with tactical nukes in their arsenal.

I agree, but not the way you mention. You are in violation of the law. You will not get the numbers needed because everyone is afraid to be the one who gets caught. Stop paying taxes and they will come after you. The IRS is stocking up on weapons, just like every other "federal" office. They *want* a reason to come after you.

What you *can* do is Expatriate. Relinquish your federal citizenship & legally never pay income tax again. This is the goal of PAC, to starve the monster & let it wither & die.

Revolution's not bad. It doesn't necessarily imply violence or blood running in the streets. Could be something as simple and stupid as taking back our jobs and money by refusing to pay any banks another penny and destroying the all-powerful, all controlling "credit scores." Or even making sure every child got a home, food, education, and clothing. No matter what.

However, I don't see it happening in the U.S. because the compartmentalization and polarization was cleverly thought out and executed. Do you realize there are still people running around thinking all is well as long as they still have their jobs and homes? And others (mostly the same people) who believe those already axed and affected are lazy whiners or that it's the (insert political party A or political party B's name here or name of current president or religious group name or class designation or scary terrorist organization name or scary sounding ideology name here)'s fault?

And those they don't manage to somehow polarize, they drug or lure with toys or otherwise blackmail, mindwash, or persuade. Yeah, the people united could move mountains. Problem is we're not. By design. No one is ever going to agree on what to do never mind when it's time to do it until it's far to late. Wait...it already is.

I honestly think that you're giving the government too much credit. Why? Because they're not that friggin' bad. I think as Americans we've got such a complacent comfortable feeling at one point that now we've gotten paranoid that it might end and thus blowing a lot of things way up.

I say again, trust me, our government is full of cuddly kittens and clowns compared to governments of most other countries.

Yes, yes. We need a revolution of the minds. I for one am tired of the fact that the Powers that BE think we are all mindless idiots. We can fight them without violence because there are a lot of intelligent & kind people in the world. We would be no better than them if we all just got pissed off and marched into the streets with guns. (Not that I wouldn't do that if they tried declaring unjustified marshall law or tried taking our guns away)

Look people...if we want a better world, we have to change the way we think; in many ways. One way is our perception of each other. Greed has taken over in a way that promotes stepping on others (or using or killing) to become wealthy. It's what is destroying everything! Now I'm not promoting Socialism or Communism, but what we do need is some sort of system that is fair for everyone. I don't know how to define it or create it. But what I do know is that we are all one...all part of the same world and if we don't start acting like it, we shall SURELY die.

Another way to change the way we think is to leave the 'externals' behind. Everything you need is inside of you. How does it feel to 'kill' yourself at your job to have a nice home & other things, but you are miserable? We are a world obsessed with "Things" and feel that it is absolutely necessary to acquire "Things" in order to be happy. Our media & advertising shove it down our throats! Well I'm telling you that what's inside is all that matters. Happiness & peace are a state of mind. Try meditation, or just be that (like peace) thing that you really want. If you want love, bring it to others and it will come to you. Find your spirit. It's what matters most!

Peace, Love, Happiness, and fairness to all...
