You dont get around much...I personally have travelled the world.

We are damn near cavemen in comparison to most of europe...now, if you compare us to perhaps the eastern european block, then sure, we may seem a bit light...mostly because we dont have hair growing out of places that hair should never grow...but even there its a divide between metro (aka, men whom wish to look evolved) and the older generation of neandertals.

I agree that the European men are much more metrosexual. Heck, even most of them carry purses. But see how this parallels the military issues I have proposed. It was just a week or two ago that some American General was complaining about how Europe has become so weak that it makes our job harder to protect the world.

I think that once you effeminize a nations men to the extent they have in Europe then you have pretty much created a nation that doesn't have the testosterone level to protect itself. Now you have whole nations who won't even defend themselves because they think war is icky.

Well I say next time a nation like Iraq attacks us again and we have to install the draft, we should just pick out the masculine mens, make a large fire out of metro carcasses, (as a sort of smoke screen obscuring our forces on their approach): to Iraq, Britain or wherever we may be defending ourselves from... God will bern them anyhow...

No I am just being a realist. War is hell, and now you throw in a bunch of appearance obsessed metrosexuals and you are going to get this kind of thing.

People that are metro are OBSESSED with what other people think of them. They cannot be seen wearing old clothes, everything must be JUST SO.

Most people could care less what others think of them.

I have a friend who teaches the Classics who once told me that the ancient ACDC tendency actually promoted battlefield skills.
As bizarre as it sounds today these guys actually fought harder to keep from losing face in front of their lovers , this is according to ancient texts.

When military personnel are deployed to an active war area, they are required to pack only what the military dictates.

No room for manscaping materials; only the necessities to live and survive.

Imagine being in Iraq when your undies look worse than a blown out tank. No one cares. Trust me, eyebrow and nose trimming becomes something you do after your tour. Just having the chance to clean your arse is a privelage. I really doubt if your serving mate smells like a sewer your going to criticise someones personal affects: cause you will smell the same. I'm pretty sure cologne will attract the enemy! LOL

Something about your post reminded me of this article. It is strange how people can be gay yet deny it. Check out this story about men in Afghanisan. Must be tough being a Pashtun boy.

Apparently, according to the report, Pashtun men interpret the Islamic prohibition on homosexuality to mean they cannot "love" another man -- but that doesn't mean they can't use men for "sexual gratification."

The group of interpreters who had contracted gonorrhea joked in the camp that they actually got the disease by "mixing green and black tea." But since they refused to heed the medics' warnings, many of them re-contracted the disease after receiving treatment.

The U.S. army medic also told members of the research unit that she and her colleagues had to explain to a local man how to get his wife pregnant.

The report said: "When it was explained to him what was necessary, he reacted with disgust and asked, 'How could one feel desire to be with a woman, who God has made unclean, when one could be with a man, who is clean? Surely this must be wrong.'"

The Pashtun populations are concentrated in the southern and eastern parts of the country. The Human Terrain Team that conducted the research is part of a military effort to learn more about local populations.

I just don't know how it could be that bad. If they are so obsessed with their image, then tough cookie because your going to be worried about much more than your Chanel glasses being clean. By the end, those who were troublesome would more than likely receive the proper response to their "metro" ways.

The second they get that head shaved they have their image controlled, and if the don't do as their told then they will be punished. My point is that they are no longer metros when they get to boot camp simply because they have no control of their image and most personal time. Take away their image and what do you have? A bunch of buff, brainless, arrogant, cocky guys that have no other goal in life but to look awesome. I wonder what type of guy the military is interested in?
