America is busted, broke, bankrupt, etc. We have NO MONEY to pay for this. Tell you what, you want it, then cut $10 billion somewhere else to pay for it.

Better bring the troops home then.

CLOSE THOSE EMBASSIES.

End the war on terror.

Close military bases!

WE CAN'T AFFORD IT.

Everyone skips right passed the military spending over THEIR OWN COUNTRYMEN EATING A FRACKIN MEAL.

Actually, Japan is our greatest lender now. China is getting out of the dollar..or at least trying to.

Anyway, we should go back to Reagonomics which balanced the budget...oh wait....it didn't.

3 trillion in the hole in 1988. I guess 3 trillion means zero in GOP terms.

They only get pissed when they aren't spending the money.

I agree 100% you are so right it hurts why do they not just stop this madness? No more money out of country and that includes Israel until we are back on our feet. It is simple just do it and get us moving again. I love America it hurts to hear about all of the suffering that is happening in this country and what is it over GREED AND POWER.

They need to cut, cut, cut. Too big. Eliminate the income tax. And they should have let the banks and car companies fail. I doubt they would have truely failed. Some banks might have closed (for awhile), but you make bad business decisions, you should reap the consequences. Obama can't claim to believe in a free market economy while giving billions in bailouts.

So the Bankers, speculators and politicians mess up and put thousands in the unemployed group.

Bankers and speculators get bailed out by their puppets the politicians.

The poor pay with their pensions, savings and now are told to foxtrot oscar when it comes to a meagre unemployment benifit.

The poor are so bloody greedy and selfish. At least the bankers will get their huge bonuses that they rightly deserve.

I haven't read previous post, but I live in Kentucky where Senator Bunning is in office. The same guy didn't mind voting for all of Bush's Spending Bills. He's pretty much a puppett of Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell. They are Partisan Politicians only interested in their party's interest instead of what's best for their state.

I am not so sure on this one how is this making the republicans look? I sit the fence and I can tell you who side I am on and it is not his side.

Welcome to the elitist state we live in. I think this is done by design to keep a needy lower (and middle) class, dependent on the government to take care of their every need.

Nobody wants to really promote this idea, but I hope these tea partiers realize that eventually it's going to come to blows and I'm not speaking metaphorically.

I just think of a comment that Obama made during the campaign about how he was glad to be away from the small town midwest. Because in hard times we cling to our Bibles and Guns.

This is exactly the people that they don't want to be secure in themselves and being able to have benefits (meager as they are) extended?

Starving them a little until they starting really sweating is almost as dangerous as spitting in their faces. And before the elitists really start hammering the worthlessness, consider that the bulk of the people on unemployment are usually the same stock of people that join the military, especially in times of war out of patriotism.

Recent news reports claim Bunning is in meetings to make a deal. But overall it sounded like a daffy plan to make the Dems look bad and for the Republicans to ride in and save the day.

I can't think of any system of government in history where it hasn't worked that way.

I don't have anything against rich people that made it ethically.

I sure don't like elected officials who have done little else in their lifetimes becoming wealthy whilst trampling the backs of the voters.

I don't know about that. This makes the GOP look bad. Conservative radio has been pretty darn quiet about Bunning. Beck has a made a few comments supporting him...SURPRISE SURPRISE...but other then that...it's been quiet.

This is causing a HUGE uproar though.

CHeck out this link and read the comments at the bottom. People are fuming on both sides.

if the government does not start listening to we the people, we the people will no longer support our government, without the people, there will be no government and a lot of dead politicians

i may wish to do things non violently, but we are coming to a crossroads where enough people have been suffering that dont care about non violence

if the politicians care about their lives more then their careers they will start to do the right thing, and im not talking about a spike lee joint, anyone throws a garbage can through a store window this time and its not a local riot, itll be "the big one"

David in support of your position...I found this posting on my state UI benefits site. As of February 28, 2010 no extensions are being made. That means people are already being cut off. An article just posted by the labor department suggests 4,000,000 will lose UI benefits NEXT WEEK.

U.S. Congress Continues to Discuss Unemployment Benefits Extension The U.S. Congress continues to discuss the possible enactment of legislation to provide additional emergency unemployment insurance benefits. However, no action has been taken as of yet, and the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program expired effective February 28, 2010. While no new EUC claims can be established with an effective date after February 28, 2010, individuals who are currently filing for benefits under the EUC program may continue draw their remaining balances.
