Extended jobless benefits start ending
By Tami Luhby, senior writerFebruary 28, 2010: 6:42 PM ET
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Depending on extended unemployment benefits to see you through the Great Recession?
You'd better not: The Senate failed to push back the Feb. 28 deadline to apply for this safety net. ...

I am sure that many of you assume that the Senator in question is singlehandedly denying some entitlement that you rightfully feel to be theirs. Were this the case (and assuming that everyone in question has any sort of right or claim to increased unemployment benefits), we would be looking at a clear cut case of abuse of power.
However, what most fail to notice is that Sen. Bunning isn't "filibustering" or even really holding anything up; he's simply requesting a debate.
I "hope" not!

"Tough sh*t is NOT a request for furthering debate. It's telling the american citizens who lost their jobs due to the stupidity and greed of Corporations, those citizens can burn in hell for all he and whom he represents would care.
Continue with the spin doctoring, and see how far you will go. Those infamous words in these present difficult times by that crass of inhumans will forever be remembered.

I loved his comment about missing a big game, just to do this...
Wah....
What an arse...
I guess that's what happens when you don't have to worry about re-election.
How about we freeze his Senate retirement? After all, it just increases the deficit....

Jus t how does one man stop unemployment payments to so many people?
How do you get that kind of power?
Funding for doctors working on programmes for the poor, unemployment benefit for a million people and payment for cable television in the countryside will also be affected.
A MILLION people!!!
That's an awful lot of hungry mouths... possibly soon to become homeless too...
I am stunned that this has been allowed to happen. I am currently working full time yet struggling. Most of my wage goes on just my rent. My heart and mind reaches out to those who are about to suffer immensely.
One month of non payment seems to be on the ropes right now and to change this action is going to take time, they say..
How long? A month? Two months? Three?
Or will this have a knock on effect and even more payments will be stopped? Are we going to see riots or protests or something more severe?
An army marches on its stomach as Napolean once commented.
A million people planning a protest march wont be going if they are hungry.
What with the trouble in Greece and the drop in value in the British pound yesterday, are we going to see this spread across Europe now? Is this 'idea to save the economy' going to mothball into something much larger and more sinister?
Is this the start of 'refuge camps' that are under government control?
You know where I'm going with this...
Good luck to all those who are affected by this. I hope you can find some food for you and yours.

funny it appears you've just read the republican party's platform as of late... too bad the dems wanna move to the other extreme and want to tax you even more to give everyone else from your hard work. we need a balance between these ideas...
i assume we need to start closing mil bases in other countries and pulling out of a few wars, repealing some of the tax cuts for companies that outsource jobs overseas. that would be just some ways of fixing our problems...
but i have to give it to the guy, he just loves to be against everybody!
Just a month ago, Dems were chiding Repubs about this. Now you have one guy who dares to make this reality and you're screamin?!
