Well, I sent an email to the author of the article, asking if there were any further details. If I get a response, I will let yall know. I am particularly interested in seeing a copy of the actual leaflet.

It would be interesting.

However, I do believe it because I have run into people like that.

I have had water "holy" water thrown at me because I have taken part in the Take Back The Night march. Where some screwballs come to protest that we would suggest that women should be able to walk around at night without fear. Apparently, this is Godlesss behaviour to these people.

The problem is when the screwballs get unilateral unchallenged freedom of action. I have no intention of ever letting up on not bowing down to ridiculous people.

Do you have any concept of what a woman goes through that
files rape charges? My daughter and I both talked about filing
charges and then decided not to.This wasn't just my decision
to make.I wasn't going to be the one having to testify.
She just wanted to let it go and get on with her life.

If that makes me a bad mother,go for it.I wanted to take the little
jerk out and beat him to a pulp.I couldn't touch him because he
was a minor.

*Some* males, yes. Just as some females too.

But don't tarnish us all with the same brush. There's nothing baloney about it. Maybe your daughter was being too flirty, leading him on, etc. Sure, that's inappropriate. But that's still no reason for her to be violated. There's never a valid or justified reason to "rape" someone.

She teased the guy and got what she asked for

That's... that's seriously effed up. Honestly. If I were your daughter I would be pretty crushed to think my mother actually believes that.

I have no words for how much contempt I have for that last sentence. She got what she deserved? 'Eff that. You will get what you deserve as well when the time comes (given your beliefs in god) and I wonder how one's god will look upon such words for one's own daughter...

I knew if I had filed charges and his attorney found out how she
was dressed,it would be thrown out.The only thing I could do
was to take her to the health clinic. They examined her and ran
tests to check for diseases and pregnancy.

It would have been thrown out? How could you have known for sure, without reporting?

My daughter started to cut herself with razor blades after that.

Well, no big surprise there. She was raped. She was traumatized.

I took her to a therapist and she did get over this.If we had filed
charges and had a hearing,it would have been far worse for her.
A defense lawyer would have ripped her apart. She would have
been subjected to humility at school. So, we let it drop.

So you say. She'll never know... will she?

How you dress can determine how you are treated.

This is true. However, this does not excuse. Period. Ever.

I'm not an atheist. Yet, oddly enough, I don't feel guilty about sex.

It's not the religion, it's the person interpreting the religion.

It is still rape.

Mamabeth,

Speaking as a rape victim. I don't think your daughter will ever get over it.

Learn to live with it, yes. But I think you need to make sure she receives some type of counseling services, even if its just rape support groups.

No one deserves to be raped. Ever.

If my mother had implied somehow my rape was my fault.....well, I don't know what I would have done.

Lost a lot of respect for mom, first of all.

I deleted my story as I am honestly afraid of being vilified by it.

But Mamabeth, I understand where you are coming from, I was accused of rape when it was completely her choice.

I was turned down while "getting frisky" numerous times, we fell asleep, I was woken up by her, we had sex by her choice, and ended up with her on top. I was blown away when I heard that the reason this girl dumped me was because I "date raped" her.

What you are talking about is a girl with a sexual mental disorder. An abheration.

Which is not the norm, nor can it be applied to the significantly large number of people who have been date raped.

Accusing someone of rape after the fact because of a vendetta, is not the same thing as rape. Please don't internalize this as your issue, it was not (per the story you told)...

I'm aware of that, but that story, which I have since edited because I don't wish to have the reprocussions from it (some of which I still have to deal with in real life) was in defense of mammabeth. I understand her plight on this one..sometimes it is not the guys fault.

But that you for giving me that info anyways. Honestly it helps to know I am not insane.

I have since had to struggle with the fact that it is a problem on this girls end..but still..it has made life difficult for me since.

edit to ad the same thanks to you Lady.

To whom it may concern!
I just got off the phone with my daughter! She told me she was not raped.
She tried keeping me from finding out she lost her virginity. When I found
out,I wanted to file charges, she didn't.Now,I know why!
All these years,I thought she was a victim...
It is a good thing that I don't embarrass easily!

I think there are two completely different ideas here. The first one is that there is never, under any circumsatances an exuse for rape! The second idea though, is that the way you dress can make you a target. I think that even though it's not your fault, dressing a little more conservative might help make you less of a target. If you are raped, I don't think knowing it was not your fault will help you feel any better. You will just want to know how to stop it fome happening in the first place. I do understand though, that the fanatics in this story were going way overboard.

So she did get what she asked for. But this in no way excuses rape, in any shape form or fashion. Rape is about violence and control, not sex.

Oh. and she just happened to start cutting herself afterwards.

your story makes no sense. Which unfortuneatle makes it a little believable, since only real people are this confused.
