I will bet my bottom dollar that this is nothing more than saber-rattling from Little Kim. He needs to look tough to his military, or risk overthrow from them.

He will do NOTHING, nada, zip, zero, except to maybe launch one of his 'trash cans with a sparkler' rockets into the sea. The end result will be to upset the Japanese, but that's about it.

Not to worry.

To all those who complain that "we don't do anything" about NK, please offer advice. What exactly CAN be done about NK?

Face it, NK does not talk about using nukes in the "so NK can win a war" sense, they talk about it in a "if we go down, we are taking a few million South Koreans with us" way.

Think about it this way...
You are a big bad-a55 American who walks into a bar. In the back corner of the bar is a big scary Asian mobster, a smaller crazy dude, and a hot waitress. The big Asian mobster dude is super powerful and very quiet. The bartender tells you "don't mess with him, and you won't have any problems." You know him because you do business with him. He makes goods and you buy them. He even loans you money. You nod at him and he nods back - that is about as far as it goes with you two.

Now, next to him the very small Asian dude starts acting all cracked out. This guy is shaking and muttering nonesense. He is the crazy cousin of the big Asian mobster. The problem is this cracked out dude managed to get his hands on a gun and has now put it to the hot waitress' head.

So here you all are... the cracked out dude holding the hot waitress hostage. If he kills her, he will be annihilated by you and the mobster. Neither of you condone the crazy dude's actions, but neither of you can really take any action otherwise the waitress gets shot. You know the crazy dude won't kill her as long as you don't provoke him.

So you do what? You maintain the status quo and put up with the crazy talk.

The problem here? Eventually something will give.

NORTH KOREA IS OPENLY SAYING THEY HAVE AND WILL USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS.... and we don't do a damn thing.

I think its because the US knows they'd use those weapons. They've called our bluff, so to speak.

N. Korea scares me a LOT more than Iran, to be honest.

Of course it is, North Korea goes thru this "same song and dance" every year when this military excersize is about to start.

Here's their statement from 2009, ...

North Korea puts troops on Alert Over South Korea-US War Games - 2009

Seoul, Aug 17 (DPA) North Korea Monday put its troops on alert as an annual joint South Korean-US war game commenced and accused its neighbour of planning an attack.
North Korea would react to any provocation with a “merciless and prompt annihilating strike at the aggressors with all offensive and defensive means, including nuclear deterrent, state media quoted the high command of the Korean People’s Army as saying.

Here's another threat from 2007, ...

North Korean Military Ready For Action

North Korea's military said Tuesday it was ready to take action against South Korea's joint war games with the United States scheduled for later this month. The North Korean People's Army (KPA) said that it would "never remain a passive onlooker" to what it called a US preemptive attack on the communist country.
******SKIP******
"The KPA side is of the view that a preemptive attack is not monopoly of the US and the DPRK (North Korea), too, has the right to preempt an attack," the spokesman said, noting that North Korea and the US are still technically at war.

And the title of this article from Rueters says it all, ...

North Korea, as Usual, Threatens South, U.S. Over Drill

South Korea and the United States have held the drills for years without major incident. North Korea regularly criticizes the exercises as a prelude to invasion and nuclear war.

Nothing new here. (Pats Little Kim on top of the head and continues war games)

Their threat isn't credible and if they became too much of a problem China would have Kim removed.

Eventually a pro Chinese junta is going to end up taking power anyway.

Iran on the other hand is a credible threat and no one has control over them. That makes them dangerous. Kim on the other hand is a clown.

Me, too...the North Koreans are certifiable, their worldview is just soooo distorted, you wonder if we share the same planet, or if they are speaking from some other dimension.

I'd say they were unpredictable, but unfortunately, they aren't: they'll do something out of left field nearly every time; their normal response to nearly anything is predictably aggressive whether it makes sense or not. Scary folks...of all the enemies I've done battle with, they are my least favorite, hell, even the South Koreans are a little 'round the bend. If it comes to fighting Koreans of any stripe, I'll pick someone else, anyone else, those guys are truly brutal.

Because the U.S WANTS to be hit. And hit in a major way as to dwarf anything thats come before. Just as they wanted (or planned) to be hit on 9/11.

Just as they wanted to be hit at pearl harbor

And just as they want to be hit now, more than ever before because of whats at stake. And whats at stake is the country itself, going down the economic gurgler forever. They need a distraction from this big time.

So, let N. Korea launch some nukes and if they don't they set a few off in a false flag attack anyway.

Haha, I'm just rambling. I think I know what I'm talking about but I actually don't have a clue

Besides resources (oil and opium), if you look on a map we have strategically circled Iran with Afganistan and Iraq. Also, a missle shield in Iraq would block everything launched fron Iran to shelter Israel.

consultingbyrpm.com...

I am sure it could have also been possible that if we didn't invade Iraq and Afghanistan they could have set up a union with Iran, making Islam even more powerful. Their first act would most likely have been to cut off the oil supply to the West and the second act would have been to retake Israel.

North Korea isn't dangerous because of it's nukes, it's dangerous because of their artillery installations on the border and with Seoul in range.

Not to mention their strategic position in regards to being on the border of China and Russia.

Why do you think the Russkies and the Chinese communists helped North Korea? Not for their eyes, but to keep NATO far from their border.

Iran would be a very different situation.

Some type of war will be here within 90 days? Place your bets now.

Iran
N. Korea
Russia
China

Who is it going to be that sparks the first flame?

Doing something to N.K. would be like rewarding a child for bad behavior! We are doing exactly what we should be doing.....ignoring the temper-tantrum Lil Kimmy is pitching for attention.

I'm sure that the CITIZENS of N.K. don't want a war anymore than the CITIZENS of the US do. We are just caught in the middle of the D**k Waving contest Little Kimmy has started again.

But....that's just my opinion!

N. Korea Threatens 'Powerful' Attack Over U.S. Drills

www.foxnews.com

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea threatened a "powerful" attack if the U.S. and South Korea proceed with joint military drills next month, warning Thursday that it could even resort to nuclear means.
(visit the link for the full news article)

Personally, I hope North Korea does start something. At the end of the day, yes, they have tested nukes underground but they have no reliable delivery method via missiles etc.

If they did launch anything un-announced towards the US (even though it won't reach), we would simply bring it down with one of our pieces of kit on a warship.

They are no threat to the US or the UK, but I would be glad to see them start something and get wopped to shut them up once and for all!

Sorry, but I am sick of hearing about them and their silly games like Iran.

Now, this maybe nothing, but I think it's worth noting.

From a report I've seen, little Kim is more and more nervous, more and more paranoid... This could affect his behavior...

N.Korea's Kim nervous: Seoul spy chief

North Korea's ailing leader Kim Jong-Il is showing "symptoms of nervousness", South Korea's spy chief said Tuesday, amid international pressure on the communist state to return to nuclear talks.

Won Se-Hoon told an intelligence committee in parliament that Kim, 68, was suffering "a lot of anxieties regarding resolving pending issues", Yonhap news agency said.

But more likely, it's just North Korea being North Korea... full of hot air.

BTW, there's no way in hell that the US will cancel those exercises.

It's not the other way around.

come on, the source of the article is Foxnews, sure the aren't pro-USA..

But however I'm still waiting for NK to put deeds in their words.. Now it is still a barking puppy that doesn't bite (yet).

If its not Iran its North Korea acting up. It seems that there will be some type of war this year, if its Iran, North Korea, or both who knows. Does everyone else feel the same way I do that there is going to be a large war this year? I wish this wasn't the case but the way things look it just keeps getting worse.

Well if I was a N-Korean leader I would make the same threats, for god sakes the country is isolated, because America doesn't want a Korea under Kim, so what, why do you give a F? It's not your country, it's not your people, it's not even in your freaken continent. For F sakes this is not the cold war, all those movies you saw about communism was propaganda, get over it. How can you get deceived for so long, or you that much of a tool?

I don't want the US under Obama, does that give me the right to isolate America and starve its people?

N-Korea has the legitimacy to make these threats against the US and its colony S-Korea.

.... wars, and rumors of wars. Business as usual. Ozzy Osborne had it fairly clear with Warpigs. What, do you think that the Red Army is gonna be kicking your door in soon? Get off you're computer and do something productive....or at least fun.

If death comes to all, then what matters.... are you affraid? Do you want something? Why are you here? Maybe you need to get laid
If you had no access to "news" (internet/paper) then what would you care? If you try to save you're life, you've already lost it.

...just my 3 cents.

It's funny how people can call NK for acting like douchebags over this whole military exercises thing. But everyone from the US and the American MSM does it every time NK fires off a few rockets and NK is no threat to the west whatsoever.

You guys are massive hypocrites I just want you to know that.
