Alright, so here's a pic I found while browsing Pravda today.

It offers no explanation, just the picture.

Which can be found here.

So what the hell is this thing?

It just looks like a mattress to me?

Thoughts?

They are a series of photos...

The scientists who examined the creature said that they had already seen such animals before, but they have no clue to their definition.

Honestly, one those photos with the mouth open kind of reminds me of the monster from Tremors....

It's a decomposing whale. You can tell by a few of those pictures. It sort of looks like someone took a torch to it's belly and burnt it. That could be just the outer pigment.

More precisely... a decomposing whale shark would be my guess.

If it was a decomposing whale you'd think that the scientists would have noticed that, they should DNA test this thing.

To me it sort of looks like the monsters in the movie Tremors.. don't know what to make of this.

Looks like an elephant, minus the ivory.

Might be reachin on this next one, but I think I remember reading that they are good swimmers, even going island to island on occasion.

Looks like a whale carcass to me. A DNA sample or examination of the skull could prove the identity of the species.

Yea this was discussed sometime ago and I am pretty sure it is a whale. Here is a great post from a past thread:

Past Thread

That helps to provide evidence that it is indeed a whale. A very badly decomposed whale. But decomposed animals do look very strange.

Hey, has anyone mentioned that it's probably a whale?

Actually, i think i've also heard stories about decomposing washed up Giant Squids (or was it some sort of jellyfish?) looking a lot like that. So, you know, could be some other large sea creature.

Did any of you read the description of it before claiming it to be a whale?

The partially decomposed monster has 4 paws, a tail and long fur

That is the first I heard of a WHALE like that.

I don't know if anybody ever saw the movie Tremors, but that thing reminds me a heckava lot like a "graboid". Here are a few pics for reference.

Anyone else see the similarities?

this is a whale

the hair is the baleen that whales use to filter krill out of the water.

do a search for whale skulls and you find similarities to the tremors pictures as well as the original pictures.

How people here can say it's shark-whale?? Based in what exactly, once the pics provided by Pravda don't show the creature, entirely?? By these angles, nobody can see f*ck, so why jump to conclusions?? WTF??

However Pravida isn't EXACTLY a reliable source. Does anyone have seen images from other sources??

Oh Please!

It's obviously the luck dragon from Never Ending Story.

Hairy, tail, 4 paws - sounds like the flying dog thing to me.

My guess is it's a decomposed hump back whale.
There are various states of decomposition so depending on how long it's been there it could look very different from one stage to the next.

The fin picture and the lines running down the length of the blubber look like those found on a humpback whale.
