You remind me my mother in law who used to lecture me that "we have laws in this country". But when Bank One got her, she died of stress with the Bank even though I bailed her out. Please stop lecturing people that has first hand experience. In fact I just read an account the experience he had with Chase Bank. It prompts me that some thing similar is happening with my daughter with the same Bank in the last two weeks that I didn't think any thing of it. But right after this note I am going to call her and investigate it little further.

Long time ago when I was in Dubai, I had to close an account and wanted 30K cash. The Bank asked me if I can wait couple of hours because they didn't have cash on hand other wise they could have given me a cheque of any form. I opted for cash. In my presence they called another Bank for Cash that they got it, and in two hours I got the cash. Similar situation in USA for lousy 4K the Bank was Adamant to give me check only. Keep in mind that I had my money in checking Account and never collected any interest on it. Since then I play their game their way and make sure that they don't have me in control. If you allow them to control you. They will never have mercy on you. Never ever. I can give you many examples. But I had some experience that I could get out of any situation. Don't let your guards off.

I have NEVER heard of that law before??? If I were anyone who had money in a Citibank I'd take advantage of this news and withdraw as much as possible.. Citi is still in the worst shape of all mega banks, perhaps this is a sign of possible issues with solvency. Again.

Come on everyone it's APRIL 1ST! That is April Fools day.
Now all we have to do is keep our money in the banks until then and then sit back and listen to the big
as their joke worked!

BTW my money is safe at home. I stopped using banks years ago.

A joke in very poor taste. They might as well be making a bomb joke at Hiroshima.

This isn't funny, If I had a Citibank account id be closing my account and taking my money elsewhere, or better yet Id be putting the majority of it in my safe and leaving just enough in a non Citibank account to buy certain things online that can't be gotten otherwise.

Greece outlaws cash transactions. Citibank requires advanced notice on withdrawals. get ready. here it comes. stock up on BARTERABLE goods. these are key to pulling the bankers out of the picture, so to speak. if we show them that we can survive without there "beads for the natives" then their whole system collapses. It is ALL based around the idea that we need the cash that they want to give us.

Citi-Group ruined their reputation in Germany by selling Germans tens of
thousands of defaulting Lehman Brothers certificates.

Their consumer banking branch was sold to a French bank that is changing
its name to TARGOBANK effective Monday, in an effort to regain confidence.

The withdrawal notice may be a measure to prevent bank runs. But surely
other banks, too, would be falling under this regulation then.

I have heard of an American association called MOVE YOUR MONEY that
is, I think, directed/aimed at Citi-Group. The bank may be getting concerned.

The money, that's what's to lose. Go look at the financial histories of places like Yugoslavia and Argentina, where the money's value went down about a trillion-fold in a very short space of time. If you store $1,000 in a sock right now, and the collapse happens, that thousand bucks will be worth less than a penny. You'll be far better off in the long run by converting that thousand bucks into gold, or non-perishable food, or a solar power generator, or a couple of hundred bicycle innertubes (do NOT underestimate their worth to a society with no gasoline), or anything else with an intrinsic value. Cash has no value once nobody accepts it... but post-apocalyptic people will always accept a can of green beans in exchange for a few boxes of matches. Until there are no more cans of beans or matches, of course; by then we'll be setting traps for squirrel meat and trading it for possum-hide loincloths. Food/water is always the number-one priority. We can only hope it doesn't get that bad. We need private farmers fast... too bad Monsanto's destroyed them all, huh...

Credit Card laws taking effect soon. Could this be why. ?

Threaten consumers because of the new credit card laws soon to take effect very soon.

Because I just received a letter from chase bank stating. No Arbitration Allowed on credit cards, due to the new credit card law taking effect soon. Not to mention a bunch of other stuff in the letter. I just sent them there card back with a zero balance.

I wonder if this is the banks telling Washington. We don’t like the new credit card laws taking effect. So here is our response…. No withdraws,Citibank. No arbitration, Chase Bank. the list goes on and on to screw us.

Everyone knows its coming its just a waiting game, They cant prop up the banks forever in a ponze scheme eventually the people at the bottom overwhelm the small amount of people at the top.

Just a matter of time before it all comes tumbling down.

I opened s businedd account with a local bank Chemical Bank December 1 2009. Up till last Friday the only thing I could do was mak deposits. No checks or debit cards ever arrived as many times as I called or stopped in. No online banking could be set up no balance except by going in, I opened another account last week at another bank and got evertyjinh we needed as soon as the account opened. I went to Chemical to close the account down and was told they were going to freeze it for 30 days if i closed it to make sure all the checks I couldn't write cleared, I got home that day and the comercial checks were int he mail0. I left 100$ in the account and illl go in and close it in about 2 weeks so everything clears. Over 40k$ that they tried to take from me.

When everyone, except the Federal Reserve BANK of America, has to pay interest to someone else, then definitely you can call it a pyramid/ponzi sceheme.

The government has to "borrow" one dollar from THE FED to look after us and the people end up paying both the principle and the interest TO THE FED, not the government!

The government is the middle man(pimp) between the customer(people) and the business(FED). I hope people understand this because its really simple. The government and FED pretend its all complicated to confuse us. Most of the confusion stems from the fact they have contracted The USA Treasury Department to PRINT currency. If I write my college thesis on my laptop but have to print it at the college computer lab because I don't have a printer home, does that mean the thesis belongs to the college computer lab or me? The answer is obvious; it belongs to me because I authored it! Its called intellectual rights..........

Lending money is a business operation, just like a pizza parlor! They DON'T lend you anything, they SELL you money because they issue it. He who issues the money indirectly controls the people and government.

Can it possibly be more obvious? Nope!

I cannot believe that this thread is still going, given that it is based upon a false premise, and people have obviously ignored the update that I posted on page 1 of this thread.
My gosh, people! Why don't you put your efforts into something that has some truth to it?

why don't u just withdraw your paycheck in cash every 2 weeks and when u have to pay bills pay in cash as much as possible. if a check is required deposit the money at an the banks atm to cover it. you'll be suprised how much you'll save on all those debit card charges and how much you'll have saved at the end of the year.
