Tiger Woods public humiliation

I think that Tiger is doing this as a public relations move.

He's losing a lot of money in lost endorsements etc.

I think that he would like his income restored.

Personally I don't care about his personal life. He should just get a divorce and then he can boink anyone he wants.

The people shoveling it (in my opinion) are feeding the public what the public wants. I don't think they give a flyin' flip what matters. If there's a demand for celebrity news, that's what they'll deliver.

Ranking goes something like this -

1 Celebrity does something untoward
2 Kid/puppy/baby duck falls in a well
3 Anything bloody
4 Unfathomable genocidal horror
5 Something in depth you really need to know

We get what the public in aggregate demands.

Well, that's the thing about bread and circuses ... people demand both.
I hardly blame the media for indulging them.

What he does at home i don't care about.

However, the companies that have paid him good money for his image care. And that is what this is all about. If he wanted to make money winning golf tourneys, he could do like so many people do and just give the finger as he goes about his business of kicking butt in his Green jacket.

But since he wants the Nike and Buick money, he needs to restore his image to something that the purchasing People will approve of. Of course, they liked Squeaky Clean Tiger. But that is a memory now. Now he needs to rise from the ashes as "Flawed But Still Likable Tiger".

We will see. It isn't politics, this ain't the 80's, and he isn't Gary Hart.

But, in the end, the only real difference will be whether or not EA sports puts out Tiger Woods '12 or not. And that will have zero effect on me.

We do not know what goes on in his house between him and his wife, behind closed doors. And that goes for every relationship out there. And who made the rules anyways?

And this is why it should not matter to anyone - yet its being shoved down our throats. Maybe his wife treated him like crap and he stayed for the children's sake..........and vice versa. Maybe this, maybe that.

Really, who cares. Its their business.

World hypocritical world... WTF is sex compulsion therapy?? People really believe a guy that spent several years having sex with anything that breathes and moves, will be cured with a "one-month-intensive-therapy-program" and a public humiliation?? IMO all this circus was set up to national redemption of Tiger Woods, 'cos:

1 - Golf is a very "caucasian-traditional-rich-american-people-familiar-sport".

2 - His (ex)wife is caucasian.

Simple like that. If Woods were a baller from NBA and his wife was african-american, nobody would give f*ck about his sexual maniac behaviour. At least, not as is happening. I mean, there wouldn't be all this pressure. Just a little...

Plus, if he were caucasian, the media ALREADY would have covered up all this story and his sponsors would have paid a pile of money to all those Woods bimbos, just disappear.

Well, I hope Barack Obama doesn't have a past like that...

TBH it's a poor reflection on the Corporations that sponsor Tiger who asked for a semi religious, PUBLIC apology

And you expect it to be PRIVATE?

I don't know what you idea of private is, but this isn't even as subtle as hiring a hooker for god's sakes. If you cannot even manage to be as discrete as Charlie Sheen, you WANT to get caught.

No matter how much you don't like it, moral messages matter.

The media here in the UK got John Terry sacked from his job as Captain of the English Football [soccer] squad because of his philandering 2 weeks ago.

What a clown.
The only time he showed emotion was when he spoke of the paps and their pursuit of his children. He directed blame towards the paps by his agressive turn of tone and his demand they leave his kids alone.

Hello, Tiger? I am sorry, but did you not just say your actions would show the truth?

Through the above action he showed he is not accepting blame, but placing it...at the paps feet.

It is no one's fault but Tiger's there is a DEMAND and MARKET for pictures of his kids now.

And what is his insane harping about privacy?

I agree with all of the posters who said WHO CARES ..arnt there way more important things happening in this world than Tigers sex life .
