i understand both sides of this argument, and i have starred nearly all of your posts in this thread. nevertheless, telling others that they are not special says more about you than it does about them.

What I'm saying is that everyone is special in some way and one doesn't need to give themselves the 'special' title of 'starchild' or 'indigo' to do great things for humanity.

There is no need for swabbing for DNA updates. Your DNA does not change from the time of birth to the time of death...it stays the same. 99% of all DNA is the same in all humans. Read more about it here.
ghr.nlm.nih.gov...
DNA actually replicates itself and must be an exact copy of each helix so when cells divide they are the same or you have mutations which often result in cancerous cell and they then die which means you can then die.

I'd like sources about the literature you were talking about that has "popularised certain traits that are obviously bogus" - I'm aware this is a popular subject and thought you'd want to support your argument by referencing the sources you've used to do this.
For myself, I agree that everyone is different - relatively, it's amazing the similarities even with people from different cultures, people can have similar senses of humour, philosophical outlooks etc. I think there's a desperate need for some to be Different and it's something they actively try to pursue to the detriment of being THEMSELVES. Like the fat kid at school that is bullied and makes up stories where he's a hero or Micheal Jackson visits his house.
en.wikipedia.org...
A link to L Ron Hubbard for you, it gives a fairly decent idea of him, his goals and how he made his living. To my mind the indigo/starchild movement only lacks a charismatic leader at the moment and given time will develop into some kind of religious-mega-corp.
Why would spiritual progress cost? Hmm, because it's a commodity. Personally I don't consider myself a spiritual person - so base my "faith" in trying to be a good person for the sake of it.
My main point of contention at the moment is that as far as "spiritual vibrations", indigo kids etc there is no proof and it sounds a lot like the boy that cried wolf/attention seeking losers. Sorry, but I doubt very much you can present me an adult that claims to be indigo or whatever that didn't go through this. I know the rebuttal will be along the lines of "they were an indigo, they didn't fit in and were singled out because of this" - yet I strongly feel it's just a bunch of life's non-winners trying to feel/be treated special.
There's a comment I'd like to make to sum up my feelings on this, it's not very nice, but the words are most exemplary of the indigo "situation". Personally, I work with adults with learning disabilities and I mean to cause no offence to anyone (except indigos).

you're still in the Special Olympics"
