That would be the ideal. I just worry you would end up on someone's property and trespassing, so you'd always have to watch your back and hide. Somebody owns that land. And whether caught or not, you are on somebody's land and not public property.

I'd take it a step further and say the ideal would be an agreement with someone who has a ton of land, sort of keep it hush-hush, and tell them you will watch out for their land. Tell them you will let them know if gangs start using it to grow drugs on, for instance.

Most in my area, utilize 'Signage'.

Be plightful, claim some sort of disability, and use keywords: Food, Gas, Clothing, Willing to Work.

Most make more than I do, and most likely have a day-time job.

Just don't park and walk to your 40 foot motor-home/cadillac at the end of the day.

There is a group of professional bums that work the Palm Springs area of Calif.
They live in nice looking motor-homes and converted buses at Slab City Calif and they all get disability checks and commute around the area as a group in a late model van.

I,ve never been technically homeless but I have lived in garages, etc. that didn't have water sources. I found that gas stations were a good place to wash up, etc. The paper towels they have available outside for washing your windshield also come in very handy for many things, including toilet paper.
