The medieval airships were just that: medieval ships that floated through the air. His best work, a culmination of his researches is called "Passport To Magonia," in which he draws parallels between modern UFO encounters and folkloric accounts of Fairyland. The airship flaps of the 19th Century are intriguing because they often describe a proper dirigible, although they hadn't been invented yet.
