Don't you know you could bring a 100 percent completely legitimate, no doubt about it, genuine paranormal photo to ATS and your hopes would be
dashed?
Silly cute-guy.
Just think about it. The figure is fairly symmetrical about a fold in the banner. This is important for the perception of a face. While folded,
wrinkling that becomes impressed into the material will very likely create a somewhat symmetrical pattern accross that fold when it is again unfolded.
It's like making inkblot "butterflies".
Secondly, the mounting points at the top of the sign are also placed symmetrically about that area and the warping from the tension and sagging in
between gives the look of arms or a cape. The portion below that has no need of symmetry to appear to be a plausible portion of the figure; the
concavity of each section helps magnify the reflection of the flash.
Overall, it isn't even that symmetrical, anywhere.
It should be obvious that in all likelihood, photos are never going to be proof of anything paranormal. It's all too subject to tampering of the
media or the scene itself and the capabilities of doing convincingly are only improving.
