Good thread...

I've got to agree with the person who posted the tectonic break up maps as there is plenty of evidence to suggest intelligent life takes a very, very long time to develop, and most importantly; can only do so when the basic building blocks of bio diverse evolution are in place.

Without a masssive amout of existingbio diversity it's very hard to have complex food chains which ultimately drove the brain development of humans (be it through nutrition as recent studies suggest or just the hunt or be hunted survival of the fittest model).

You could also argue that without fossile fuels ( i.e having the ability to access biological stored energy from dead animals and plants) humans wouldnt have the time or inclination to to pursue more intellectual pursuits as survival would be paramount.

I believe a lack of widespread waste products such as plastics, industrial effluents and man mande radioactive waste suggest this hasnt happened before as we've managed to leave permanent reminders in the sea and the earth in less than 500 years.

We'd be finding empty crisp packets and cola cans on the sea floor from our pre civilisation if it was the case...just have a look at the other recent post on ATS of the satellites orbiting earth; we've left over a 1000 of them just whizzing around collecting dust in 50 years of space cabability.

I reckon any developed civilisation has waste/waste products and if they were anything like us; they'd put off any widescale clean up of earth untill it's too late; just like us as well.

The statues and hieroglyphs left behind by the ancients in America include

elephants, an extremely beautiful cat being half cat half humanoid and a

gorgeous humanoid female with large mountain sheep horns. These are

some of the most incredible finds in the history of mankind. Have you seen

these statues and carvings of course not and just maybe it is a good thing

because looters of artifacts would converge on these locations and destroy

everything for a buck. The immensity of the find is priceless. ^Y^

Very little of what we as a race have accomplished is "in stone"

Perhaps we should start doing so. Would it be that hard to construct a monument to our existence? A historical time-line as depicted by us currently. Everything that we have discovered, should be recorded in stone, for it prevails, our mark should be be deep so that future generations will not repeat our mistakes.

Perhaps a Free Mason or two would assume this venture.

This was one of my first threads on ATS. I have witnessed a lot of doom and gloom threads since I posted this. It makes me wonder, if this theory were to be correct, how many times the exact or similar situations have occurred. It isn't to implausible to ponder when you consider the figures in the OP.

I don't know, it just seems we should be able to overcome adversity and our petty differences. Make this one count you know. Anyway...just wanted to get that off my chest

I think there's so much evidence out there that is always covered up due to the fact that it would make almost all religions invalid. I heard that recently they found a human hair protruding out of one of the stones in Giza. i.e. the blocks weren't hammered and chiselled out of stone but actually manufactured like a modern brick, which we're told is a technology that the Egyptians didn't have way back when. Then theres the "The Disks of Baian-Kara-Ula" which are supposedly 12,000 years old...Underwater cities, etc etc. I'm 100% sure that we have had high-tech civilizations many many times before...and we usually f*** it all up by killing eachother in a war and have to start over again.

I often think, imagine if there was a catastrophy and 99% of the population was wiped out along with our technology too. How many of us know how to farm, make clothes, make electricity, make fire, hunt etc etc. It would be easy to see a huge war or other catastrophy killing us off completely as we cannot really live without supermarkets, gasoline stands, malls, etc.

Also to add....

I beleive the previous civilizations had much greater technology that we do now. But in a very different style. For example I doubt towards their eventual end they were flying jets, and driving cars. I'm sure the stargate type technology was used, and I feel that they were more in-touch with the planets natural powers that we're just not tuned into anymore

Finally had some time to read through this as you suggested, great original post and the responses also added more weight to what I had been hashing around in my mind. Some great insights across the board, the mathematical formulas you put forth in your OP will probably be added to my arsenal when trying to explain this to family and friends who believe a more conventional view of history.

I wonder what information has been passed down through the ages by groups such as the Freemasons and Illuminati and what other ancient finds supporting this belief set have been gobbled up by The Vatican Secret Archives to be hidden from inquisitive eyes. If only I had the skills of a Hudson Hawk and the knowledge of Robert Langdon.

Some of antiquity has to survive to this day, whether it be locked up in secret bunkers or buried underneath ice, earth or water. I can only hope someday when I pass beyond the veil of this existence all answers will be laid bare.

You were right, we do tend to think along the same lines, anothe S & F heading your way

This is all that you need to think about. The answer to the thread title is yes.
