Same here. Out here in the heartland, otherwise known as the flyover zone for east coast elite and west coast liberals, we see no sign of forgien soldiers. What I seem to be noticing is an increasing number of middle eastern types who seem to be very traditional. Women in long skirts, head scarves, and in some cases, even veils. And this is in the summer when temps reach 90 to 100 degrees with 80 and 90 percent humidities. Do I think they are terrorists? NO! But they do stand out with their mode of dress when the rest of us are wearing shorts and t-shirts.

I think many that claim martial law is coming need to seriously look at some numbers.

300 million American citizens-500 thousand troops=290 million citizens
Yes they have the fancy weapons...but history has shown us..Superior numbers is the key. Now look at that number of troops. Not all are actual fighting soldiers.
Then remember all of these soldiers have family as well and took an oath to uphold the Constitution. So to many of you poser Anarchist...Martial Law just is not gonna happen.It would be suicide for the military and the politicians,and elite.

Example, well, I've been rather disrespectful to Van Jones and Cass Sunstein lately, they've probably already traced my IP by now. So, will ordinary citizens, like me, end up in gulags, concentration camps, or will they just do what Uncle Joe would do?

What else they gonna do? No more constitution? Will they ban all religion (except Islam)? Mass surrender of all privately owned firearms? No more freedom? This is exactly what obama wants, isn't it?

i had missed that, to be honest, good point. as always, your best bet is to follow the money.

regarding german troops occupying the US, i can't see it. judging by the 20 or 30 germans i have met, between the evils carried out in their names during WW2 and the suppression of eastern Germany during the cold war, germans have a deep seated aversion to anything that even smells a bit like oppression.

i should say this might be because i'ld probably avoid meeting or talking to the type that might be happy to occupy the US, and i think there might be plenty of this type in germany, but i really think the vast bulk of germans wouldn't allow it.

This. Ever since those ridiculous teabaggers showed up ATS gets bombarded with "news" from some weird blogs (islamicdanger...lol) that are so far from reality, I can't believe anyone with half a brain buys into it.

Enforcing martial law throughout the whole States would be ridiculous. Also, what prupose would it serve?? These are paranoid ideas from some idiots who probably built their own bunkers under the shed of their Alabama farm (sorry for sterotyping) waiting for armageddon.

I'd be surprised and a bit disappointed if I didn't see a "omg imminent martial law!" post at least once every few weeks. Here, martial law is about as common as paying taxes.

But... no evidence, nothing but "undisclosed sources" feeding us unsubstantiated tidbits.

Hey there. Math is a smidge off. Just pointing it out. 300 million minus 500 thousand troops doesn't equal 290 million. It equals 299,500,000 people.

Firstly, having worked with AmeriCorps in disaster relief, they can't enforce their own rules so I can't see them enforcing anything.

Second, I have noticed that highly-paid executives are taking early retirement and bonus to avoid the inevitable salary and bonus reductions that have to come if companies are going to remain solvent; they just can't afford to be paying out so much money.

In closing, I'd like to say that I'd be glad for all the assistance we can get when the big one shakes up the San Andreas fault. I'll be thanking the Germans, the Canadians, the Mexicans and the Haitians and whoever is willing to help us with disaster relief right here in California.

Then we have a shipment of concrete jail cells misrepresented.

Are you aware that the stories about the foreign troops has been ongoing for at least two decades. When exactly will they lock us all up?

A better guess would be hallucinogens in the water supply.

Exactly how the few military who would even go along with this would overpower hundreds of millions of people boggles the mind. It's like saying to an NFL team, better look out, Charlie the Baker is coming to beat you all up.

I lived in Germany for 7 years and you are right, that does sound like their sense of humor. They really like messing with Americans.

Now here is my problem. I live in NC. In a few of the very small towns in my area the military has set up licsence check points in the last three months or so. Since we have such a large representation of the US on ATS, I would really like to know if anyone else has experienced this in their area.

well if martial law is invoked upon us.... I certainly hope these pricks that want to enforce it brought a huge sack lunch because they are gonna be at it for awhile...

and the day I see soldiers in the streets confiscating weapons and kicking doors in.... 2 things happen... I leave and then I start shooting little blue helmets.... to me it would be an act of war and an illegal invasion...

And i take no prisoners and I have no qualms about torture to extract information when at war... never did before and do not intend to be nice now...

Indeed that is the risk being weighed by foreign countries should they decide to participate *if* it comes down to that. Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. will be a walk in the park to would happen here. Last year alone 14 million Americans applied for deer hunting licenses. These are people with camouflage, high-powered rifles with scopes, skills with stalking prey, and in many cases, IR and night-vision. Not to mention the other 80 to 100 million armed citizens of this country.

Thing about forien troops is that they would be more likely to follow orders to fire apon American civilians than American troops think about it Martial law will bring the Militias out in force we all expect a civil war soon anyway.........

Let's look at this in a different light. I will try to explain a very complex subject in very few words. The research to understand what I'm trying to explain will be your responsibility. This rabbit hole is just to big to explain in a small post let alone a week of back and forth discussion.

A few things first.

- The world of commerce is based on contract, seen or in most cases hidden.(hidden only to the public) Those who do not speak the language of law known as "Legalize"
- In order for Countries to trade with one another there has to be a situation were no Countries laws violate or claim higher authority than The Universal Commercial Code(contract law)
- No Country will trade with another who does not have a Universal Commercial code as there supreme form of law(the law of contract)
-This world of commerce operated on "trusts" since there is no real money(backed with gold silver etc)"MONOPOLY MONEY" is what we have.
Basically a bunch of promises to pay or IOUs.

This system is in place because if it were not countries could borrow credit from another and then wright laws that state they will not pay there debts to those they borrowed from. This would ruin the corrupt commercial system.

Do you see were i'm going with this?

The UN is a group made up of all countries which operate under this system. If you are a member of the UN you have agreed to be a member in good standing and agree to keep contract law supreme.

I do not like this system but it is what it is. Us common folk did not get very good history lessons in school for a reason. Is it a mistake most do not understand the difference between being a "person" and having a "person"
Note: look up the definition of "person" in a law dictionary and you will be shocked at what you find.

The US is in a unpresidented see of debt. To who you may ask. The Private Creditors, that's who. There comes a time when Creditors want to collect and if they see there debtor is at a point were they feel they are no longer capable of paying that debt, they have the right to seize assets.

Again if this were not so. Why would creditors lend with no way of collecting. This is a universal law which the US has agreed to be under.

The US now has laws that allow NATO and UN troops on American soil. This was put in place to please there Creditors prior to borrowing more debt notes to keep your struggling economy going "Bailout"

So, in my opinion if you see foreign soldiers in your country they are there to see to it that there creditors contract obligations are met. Not to help in a effort to take over your streets and round people up for the gas chambers. It would be, to take control of commercial assets. If you consider your self a commercial asset of America Inc you should run for the hills.

Just my take on what is happening in the USA.
Really, does any one think a Country, company or "person" for that matter can borrow there way out of debt while producing next to no products for export all the while being the worlds largest consumer.

When does the exported start to own the importer of all there goods.

this is errie... okay let me run a few things by all of you guys.... things here in Boise that have well, been a little unusual...see what all of you thing.... maybe paranoia but i doubt it.

Here in boise ideal with the military a great deal in the course of business.. now, for the last few days (maybe 10 days now) i have noticed a greater amount of cargo planes coming into Gowen field than the usual. There are a few C130's already there but these are C5's and C17's (big suckers).

And at the gates now I have to show ID... not a big thing because everyone at the gates knows me... but it was odd being asked for ID and having to put a visitor badge on... same thingat Mountain home AFB...

Now here in town the Railroad goes by Mountain home first and then continues west to pass by Gowen... these trains are loaded with heavy armor vehicles, as well as bradlies and some others I have not seen before... they look like commo vehicles.

In town there have been a great deal of military vehicles just cruising around in groups of four and five vehicles..... all the personell are carrying the 16's. I don't mean a few times I have seen this but a great deal more than ever before...

Also a lot more fighter planes using the Gowen base that usual and a lot more A10's flying and more black hawks...

and across town from my home is a small base where the Army reserve stores vehicles... right near the VA... now there are usually only a couple of vehicles in there along with a couple of trailers.... and there are alot of commo type vehicles in that yard now...

so maybe this is something but i don't know what to make of it... several of my business associates have noticed this as well... so it is not just me that is seeing it... It is probably nothing but what do you all think about this...

When the rats jump off a ship it is a bad sign but I just don't see it yet. I am not saying it is not happening I just don't see it in my corner of the world everything is business as usual. It is boring I am concerned and would like more info if anyone could provide more info and stories and links I love to look at them and try and piece it together.


Is the end near? I think it might be look at the economy something is very wrong and what is up with the weather? I am not a bible pusher but I have lived alot of years and things don't seem right everything is upside down and backwards. I just want to know if I need to prepare or what.
