Who says it was aimed for the western world?

Do you know how many asians travel through heathrow going to south-asia? Do you know how much money they would lose if asians stopped travelling?

They are trying to appeal to those modestly dressed asians to not be afraid of FULL BODY SCANS because S. Khan did it!

Honestly.. is anyone surprised?
Back when the patriot act and FISA happened remember that?
They said oh it's all respectful and private then they caught some officers listening to a private and intimate conversation between a couple and they fowarded the audio throughout the company.

Exactly the same thing, happens all the time, will happen again probably on a weekly or even daily basis.

I agree. These Full Body Scanners are madness to say the least. The best approach is to boycott all non-essential overseas travel. Can you imagine the response if 80% of all flights were cancelled in response to these Scanners? Airlines would have no choice but to listen and push for these Scanners to be abolished.

Boycott non-essential travel and send them a loud and clear message!

Honestly, people who think this is only a publicity stunt, and didn't really happen, are grasping at straws. That actor is one of the most famous actors in the whole world. It's just us Americans who've not had much exposure to international movies who would mistake him for a foreign nobody.

I believe the previous poster is right, though, who says that it is coming out into the open right now to show us that we should be cool with having our naked pictures circulated without our permission. Especially for Asians who are known to be more private about their bodies than even us Americans.

What it really shows, however, is that everything we've been told by authorities about these scanners is wrong.

So, they were lying about the people operating them being responsible, lying about the operators not knowing the identity of the person being scanned, and lying about the images being automatically deleted. How can we be sure they're not lying about the scanners not being a health hazard as well?

Iv'e never heard of him. The initial remarks were made on the Jonathan Ross show. It sounds tongue-in-cheek to me, even though I missed that particular show. "Scamming" as opposed to scanning the pics is a foregone conclusion, and some Dick is going to try it. So go ahead and get scanned, not me. BTW it is a computer system/suite, not just a pretty picture on the wall.
