I never said the tree was being worshiped.
What the point I was making is, that it represents the opposite of what the Bible says.
And this was shown in my OP, with scripture. It relates to idolatry, however it is clear that the idol being worshiped is the Self - Consumerism - Greed.
And do not worry guys you did not derail anything, the post Chem made was surely relevant and pertains to the discussion just fine.
All of this stuff connects together.
Also I just finished watching the video I linked in the 2nd post that was shared in another thread last week. It is very awesome, and I again highly suggest you guys check it out. It's worth the time.

For the customs of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
Craftsmen means idol makers and they most often worked with wood, the wood was plated with precious metals.

GREAT POINT! Since the trees are not shaped with a chisel, this basically debunks this entire thread. Good read.

Also, there's a HUGE difference between kids sitting next to a tree opening presents, and adults kneeling down before it asking for it's divine protection and blessing.

Is there?
All kids I know during Christmas become quite greedy and lust for these "presents" since they usually feel they are Entitled to them.
And look at the consumer industry that it has spawned these days, how people will fight mercilessly over who gets hot items at the stores.
I could go on and on man. We have been deceived, clearly.

Firstly, they brought gold – the most precious metal. But King David says that God’s Word is more precious and more desirable than precious gold....
Secondly, they brought frankincense. This is a kind of fragrant incense which by God’s command was used in the Old Testament tabernacle and in the temple. It has a very pleasant fragrance; rising to the heavens like clouds, it serves as a gift of thanksgiving, pleasing to God.......
Finally, the Wise men brought myrrh. Like frankincense, it is obtained from trees growing mostly in Arabia. To obtain it, the tree bark is cut and from it comes an aromatic sap that is used as part of the fragrant oil with which kings and high priests were anointed. The word myrrh means bitterness or sorrow.....READ MORE~HERE

A Christmas Tree is not a graven idol. The star atop represents the Star of Bethlehem, not a pagan deity.

The first sightings occurred in November 1944, when pilots flying over Germany by night reported seeing fast-moving round glowing objects following their aircraft. The objects were variously described as fiery, and glowing red, white, or orange. Some pilots described them as resembling Christmas tree lights and reported that they seemed to toy with the aircraft, making wild turns before simply vanishing.
