I know it is somewhat of a odd revelation, but apparently the Bible prohibits the "Christmas Tree".

Jeremiah 10: 1-5

1 Hear what the LORD says to you, O house of Israel.
2 This is what the LORD says:
"Do not learn the ways of the nations
or be terrified by signs in the sky,
though the nations are terrified by them.

3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

4 They adorn it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.

5 Like a scarecrow in a melon patch,
their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried
because they cannot walk.
Do not fear them;
they can do no harm
nor can they do any good."

Three more fascinating discoveries are:::

1)We put a Star on top of the Christmas Tree (Sun Worship)
2)Many ornaments are shaped as Spheres - reference to the Sun
3) The Winter Solstice occurs roughly around the same period as the Christmas holiday, and apparently the holiday derives it's meanings from the "Birth of the Sun" rather than "Son".

In fact, I cannot find anywhere in the Bible that states the Birth day of Jesus....

I never knew this information, as it is clearly quite well hidden in plain sight.

To me, it kind of proves that Modern Christian Traditions are buried in deception and in fact the Bible itself speaks out against such customs as "worthless".

This information was revealed to me inadvertently by a fellow ATS member EndoftheWorld7, Thank you tons man!

He linked me this documentary that pretty much spelled it out directly.

I highly recommend that video, although I am only halfway through it.

The narrator also skillfully shows Easter as a deceptive holiday as well, based on the Fertility Goddess of Babylon? Easter or Ishtar. Represented by the Egg.

And what does everyone do on Easter? They focus on Eggs.

Christianity did not steal these holidays from Pagan religions, but rather the Church is a deceptive organization that is two faced.

For lack of a better way to summarize it, it is basically Paganism parading as Christianity, when in reality the entire Church Doctrines and Traditions are in fact totally opposite from the scriptures in the Bible.

No wonder it was illegal to read the Bible for regular citizens/peasants until Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses of The Bible vs The Church, and the Protestant Reformation occurred.

Crazy stuff.
I admit I am still learning so go easy on me if i get a few things wrong. However I feel like I am on the right path to understanding the World better....

Whereas i do believe that the whole Christmas tree thing stems from a pagan solstice tradition, i do not believe the above passage means Christmas trees...it is referring to idols, as in statues of false gods.

We may never know the exact date of Christ's birth, but Christmas on the 25th is as good a time as any to celebrate the birth of the saviour, IMO.
As long as your hearts in the right place and you remember what it's all about......it's all good.

Also, there's a HUGE difference between kids sitting next to a tree opening presents, and adults kneeling down before it asking for it's divine protection and blessing.

I disagree, there is actually a passage in the Bible that my grandmother pointed out that indicates that we are suppose to celebrate the Birth of Jesus every single day of the year. Not just one day.

And so that means you should give to others like it is Christmas every single day.

When she gets home in a few hours I will call her back and get the exact Verse for you, trust me it is in there somewhere.

So saying that "dec25 is as good a day as any" is misleading, in fact EVERY day is technically Christmas. I will find this verse for you.

Is there?

All kids I know during Christmas become quite greedy and lust for these "presents" since they usually feel they are Entitled to them.

And look at the consumer industry that it has spawned these days, how people will fight mercilessly over who gets hot items at the stores.

I could go on and on man. We have been deceived, clearly.

Christianty does seem a rather mixed bag... but then you'd expect it to have been adapted in different ways in different countries over the last 2,000 years..

Miss-translations happen.. taken where I live, up till standard English was taught (60ish years ago) Pharisees meant faires, which would give a different impression of the bible.

I knwo Christmas is meant to be celebrated every day, but in calendar terms I know of 3 dates, one in December and 2 in January (if you exclude the Eastern church dates) 25th Dec, 6th Jan (12th night) and 17th Jan (old 12th night)

Aside form the pagan traditions we hold here on what is known as the old 12th night of Christmas, I can not find any reference to it elsewhere (the tradition is up to 1,500 years old)

I think given how things have changed over the years... the sad fact about Christimas is that the new master is commercialism..

Superb post my friend!

I was totally unaware of that.
I grew up in Christian church as a kid and just assumed it was all innocent, but it really does show how incredibly gullible we are/were.

I believed that my super-christian parents knew all and were flawless in their beliefs and so followed suit.
Sad thing is, they totally believed it themselves - not in an arrogant way though, they were/are just taken by the lie.

Although, it's very hard to show those who are 'set in their ways' just how their reality is made for them. I've had countless chats with my mother about how I see the world and the state of religion.
A brick wall goes up as soon as the conversation gets to a certain depth.
The worst was when I spoke to her about the Gospels that were left out of the Bible and how it presented a clearer picture of who Jesus was and his teachings....did NOT go down well!!

Anyhow, good info muzzle & I'll be checkin out that vid!

Much love...

I disagree. It does not permit idols that are worshiped. Now, if we worshiped our trees, then I can see your point. However, since they are decorative and no one (that I know of) is praying to them for godly advice, well, I have to say that the trees are OK.

However, yes, the text does ban these idols, so you have a point, but only if they are worshiped or meant to be the image of a god, which is what idols are.

Great point, Christmas is definitely about commercialism.
Commercialism is tantamount to materialsm.
Materialism robs us of our spirituality and who we really are.

Linking into another Biblical point, I believe those who who are to accept the"number of the Beast" (in whatever form it's meant take) are those to whom materialism is everything.
The'll give up their spirituality for material happines.

Today's celebrity/get rich quick/i wanna be famous mindset is a sure indication of the direction the masses are being led happily into.

I for one refuse to be a part of it!!

Much love...

But the greedy kids are not worshiping the tree. They are caught up in the materialism that has engulfed the Christmas season. The true reason has been replaced by obtaining and giving out items, and has been passed down firmly to each generation. That should be where the conspiracy is!

A Christmas Tree is not a graven idol. The star atop represents the Star of Bethlehem, not a pagan deity. In fact, some people have angels as a tree topper.

Much has to do with intent... and the intent is not to worship the Christmas Tree.

Oh... and you'll note that the passage quoted in the OP is from the Old Testament and not the new... it was for the Hebrews and as far as I know, they do not generally erect trees at Christmas.

As for the current state of the observance and the associated commercialism? Talk to Walmart, Sears, HH Gregg and Best Buy about their intent.

Have a nice day

Commericalism is the new, dare I say it, god of everything... be it Christmas, Easter, Mothers day, fathers day.. they won't be happy until we have to buy cards and gifts every day of the year... what a sad world where a gift from the heart is lost amongst the cries of "I want" "I need" and "I have to have" is the saddest of them all.

I don't think it is quite that simple. These are both religious events and traditions. I think everyone knows of the theories on how Easter and Christmas

I don't think it is quite that simple. These are both religious events and traditions. I think everyone knows of the theories on how Easter and Christmas days were picked and how they are related to pagan events, but when you go to church on either of these days they do not talk of Santa, Christmas trees, bunnies, eggs etc., The traditions we have fun with and the religious events we worship are very far removed from each other.

A lot of "christian" traditions,have their origins in pagan worship.
I don't put up a christmas tree,no easter eggs...
Traditions, from the early christian and pagans, were combined
by a roman caesar.He wanted to appease both religions by combining
their holy days together.Christian traditions with pagan coverings, very
cleaver maneuver by our enemy.

Christians don't worship their Christmas tree.

Use the money example. Money isn't evil, but the root of money is (ie. the love of money).
