we are a tribal species, looking to defend our tribes against outsiders. Like you say it is remnants of stone age man. remnants that are hard for many to leave in the past. Surely in the 21st century we should be able to look past these tribal differences. I believe many of us can.

It's the ones stuck in their tribal mindsets, who cause the most problems in the world.

From what iv read so far from posts like this, it seems there are those that would say it's best to try and get away from the cave-man tribes we all inhibit, whether it be religion or race. But that's the wrong idea, because that means you're trying to escape from what you are as a human being.

Our tribal nature can't be 'left in the past' because it is a part of our very selves. It's what makes us what we are.

For example. everyone has a different point of view and so everyone has different tastes which means people are going to have different likes and dislikes - all what create tribes. And because of this individuality people are always going to form tribal groups based on what they like and dislike - you can't leave individuality in the past.

This individuality causes us to be distrustful and quite judgemental of what we don't fully understand or like, so tribes are created out of that necessity to protect ourselves from those that are different from our own individuality.

hahah its funny but what chance have we got of meeting intelligent life and for them to take us seriously if half of the users on this site cant even read a full post or understand irony !

What chance do we have of communicating with intelligent life from another planet while we're still running around throwing rocks at each other because other people dress a bit different, and live on the other side of an imaginary line?

I think the aliens are just face-palm the whole time watching us.

Great thread and one of the few that deserve heroic status in my opinion.

People are so busy trying to differentiate themselves through race, religion and language that it is quite amazing we haven't already destroyed ourselves. I remember watching a carl sagan documentary once and he kept saying we as humans *might* have great potential in the cosmos *if* we learn to respect each other and work together.

Humans have been fighting one another for at least several millenia, if not more. War after war after war... We have been trapped in a struggle for survival against each other much like animals living in a jungle. Unlike animals, we don't have to live that way because we are superior to them.

Difference of religious beliefs has caused more deaths than any other catalyst, yet here we are in the 21st century and we continue to perpetuate our misery. It is ok to be spiritual and even religious, but please don't use religion as a tool of destruction. It would make more sense if we killed for food or natural resources but even this is not necessary. In the end if boils down to greed and intolerance of people slightly different than you.

One must ask, WAS THIS BY DESIGN? Who created man and what was envisioned of him? There must be a good explanation to this mystery. I as a christian believe in god but I also believe in the devil. It seems the devil is going out of its way to confuse, misinform and perpetuate misery. Do we live in a new age? What is a new age?

I often wonder at times....

I think other animals (The Descendants of A'DAM being a Primate or animal) have more sense than the Descendants of A'DAM or Primates ????

Besides The descendants of A'DAM stole the title of MAN.

To "pretend" to be like the Soul...

But A'DAM and his descendants are NOT MAN but are flesh and bone merely only one of the Primate family, that The LIFE experiences.

I believe in time though, if we keep persistence on overcoming these instincts, from an evolutionary standpoint, we will shed them and be able to move towards a higher existence.

While i understand where your coming from with this subject, i'm not so sure I can swallow the part of being our tribal history. In fact, I totally disagree with that point. If you look back at recorded history, (I know the victor writes history) most all great human astrocities can be traced to one thing, GREED! Mans obsession with material things. All great empire's have fallen do to greed. Its not the human race that causes great atrocities, rather its the power of a few that weave the tapestry of destruction. The US of A is no different. In fact when if falls, I believe it will be worse than any in history. It won't go down with out a fight, none ever do, and that will be dangerous. The weapons out there now are not life changing, rather they are earth changing. I hope sooner rather than later man wakes up and realizes they are being led by the nose into some real deep water, and most don't know how to swim.
