Sure it is, the strongest survive means we would be living like rthey do in the jungle.

That's pretty much what I am saying. I don't know if you were clarifying that or what? Do you think this is a bad thing? Do you think the pioneers would think this is a bad thing? Come on now, look at what this society has become, A bunch of geeky, stick thin, nerds who would have had their awful genetics wiped from our gene pool in the jungle. Something I think needs to stay out the gene pool, the waters are getting dirty. Sure we need innovators, scientists, doctors and inventors, but the accountants, we could do without them, after all computers make excellent accountants anyway. But that is just one example.

Like I said. Be wary. There is a difference between the "needy", the unemployed, the disabled, the elderly, etc., and the able bodied who refuse to work. Refuse may be the wrong word but I think you get the gist. A big problem is the inequality that inner city and some rural school systems face. I'm of the teach a man to fish school. But this is what I see. Coming soon to a political platform near you.
1. No Immigration
2. Downsize Population
3. Kill defectives.
4. Regulate breeding
5 Stop all aid to the third world

It would, i'm afraid, be quite popular. Especially among some ATS members. Going by some of the postings I've read.

My first posting.
I had to say something about what the SC Lt. Gov said. He was blunt and real with his response, only he got it a bit wrong about feeding strays. I feed strays, I can't let something go without food, just because a human didn't take care of their duty. But I also catch them and have them fixed so that they don't reproduce. You can't do that with humans.
I live in a Southern state and I have seen first hand how things have gotten out of hand. When I was younger there was still a division of the races...but, everyone worked. Black or white. That was how you survived. Some people worked by hand, some sat on their butts....but, everyone knew you had to work to make money for food and housing. Some people were rich, not so rich and poor and some even poorer. But, they all were treated with respect, because having dirty hands did not make you a lesser person.
Some time in the 60's it started, I remember how women began to have babies and started working the system. How once they had the first baby the check arrived, and how the boyfriend/babies daddy would hide until the social workers left. It all started to go down hill. I still live in my home town and I see the great grand children of women I knew that got pregnant as very young teens, using the same tactics. But now the perks are even better. Free housing, free medical,a check for each child, free education for mom..free child care..it goes on and on. So, I am so tired of seeing them in their new cars nice clothes and fancy homes...so maybe it is time for them to eat cake...I have no respect for those you call "poor"...the true poor are above that..and I help them when ever I can.
But, something has got to change.

No You need to go back and read all the posts I made, strip everyone of everything down to the bare bones and let them all survive off the land, let them go/do as they please on a level playing field and see who survives, it's just common knowledge that certain "Groups" wouldn't survive. This is natural selection, with the invention of money we distorted natural selection, meaning those who never would have gotten far in life are now living and somehow breeding...although most of the male/female attraction cues should have been enough to weed this stuff out, apparently there's a large percentage of women who also became whores to the money system and now we are left with people who should not have survived and there's certain fields of occupation they inhabit, typically. Just used that one as an example.

well, I can't see some of those who are the most richly awarded in our present system surviving long under those circumstances, the ceo of exxon comes to mind...but, I have worked and lived most of my life with the lower paid workers, along with those on the welfare programs...and well, I'll tell ya what....many of them have what it takes to survive in the most horrible circumstances...they are surviving!

That is/was exactly my point!
That's exactly what would make this nation great again, level the playing field. It's simple, I know I have survived some conditions that those said people you mentioned in the first line would just crawl into a corner and start drooling about! Or have a nervous breakdown about. OH How I would love to see them all drooling over themselves and mumbling like idiots, speaking of the unfairness of it all, hahahaha
. I would say to them "you didn't think it was unfair when it was someone else did ya?"

I think it may be a little late to revert back to our hunter/gatherer roots, no matter how much my friend John Zerzan tries to convince me otherwise. As civilized, and I use that term loosely, people we have a certain amount of social responsibility to those who are truly in need. But the able bodied should be able to fend for themselves.

ChattahBox)—Republican Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer of the bible-thumping state of South Carolina revealed his version of compassionate conservatism during a recent speech to his constituents, when he compared poor people on welfare to stay cats and dogs. Providing hungry people with an “ample food supply,” says Bauer only encourages the great unwashed of our society to breed more poor wretches whom the state is forced to feed. The genteel Southern gentleman is shocked that the poor on the dole have the bad taste to reproduce right under his nose, and he proposes that South Carolina “curtail that type of behavior,” by cutting off their food supply of government cheese and food stamps. Because after all, the poor, just like stray animals, can’t control their distasteful sexual urges. “They don’t know any better,” Bauer said.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Still more brilliance from the state that gave you Governor Mark Sanford.

Not all South Carolinians are imbeciles, of course, but it appears many imbeciles have high state positions.

I know I'm asking for trouble by posting this. There will be some people who will actually agree with Bauer. (Picture Charlie Brown banging his head against a tree.)

I've been a starving artist and poor in my lifetime. I'm not now, thanks to perseverance, hard work, and a hand up when I really needed one. No matter how high and mighty one is, there is always someone in his background who helped him when he fell.

That's how idiots like this one got to be where they are now.

Now I have the luxury of being allowed an opinion on poverty. I know many welfare recipients who could govern S.C. better than these two. Give them a job and get them off the dole!

[edit on 24-1-2010 by Sestias]

Yeah..This is a horrible thing to say, and a horrible way to think about your fellow man, but, here's the problem. A lot more people agree with him than you all might think. they're just bright enough to not say it. "poor" could be anyone, of course, but you have to know that it's code for "black/hispanic/other" the way he's using it. Look, We need to come to the realization that the human animal is just that. an animal. When hard times hit, like now, people go right back to survival of the fittest mode(some never leave that mode at all), and, because people are generally arrogant, they take it upon themselves to decide who's fit and who is not. If you press this guy, he will scream that he is not a racist, he is not an elitist, etc, but he's both, and he knows it. and all the people around him, chastising him etc? they're mostly chastising him for speaking what they say behind closed doors, that's all.

Well you say that, but I tell you it's coming! when the economic SHTF you'll see thats exactly what's going to happen.

I am a proud and well educated South Carolinian. I must say that what Andre Bauer said was wrong. But I also believe that what he said does not accurately represent what he inteneded.

Most of us have heard the phrase "give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or teach a man to fish and feed him for the rest of his life" I think this is the type of meaning Andre was trying to convey.

I do agree with Andre on one point. That is our government is not really helping the poor. We are just throwing money at the problem and hoping that it will go away.

We do not to start working people off of welfare by training them, and then stepping down their pay. We can not allow them to believe that money will be coming the rest of their lives.

Most of you do not know the problems that my state faces. We actually have government housing in some of the cities that have been by five generations of families. This is not to say that people have been moving in and out for five generations. Parents have actually passed on these homes to their children. These people do not want to leave because they have a free ride.

We need to educate and train them so that they no longer need our tax dollars to survive, but can become contributors themselves.

One person on this post called our state backwards. To that person I ask. Is it backwards to want people to be accountable for their own actions, is it backwards for us to want our tax dollars spent wisely, and is it backwards for us to hate paying for lazy people?

I think the backwards states are those like California, and Michigan. States that are willing to pay people to sit on their lazy ass. This country was not founded on Socialist principles, and you liberals try to bring them to my state, there will be a second civil war.

There is a reason states like Michigan, and California take so much federal aid. It is becuase those are the states that are governed by morons.

Poor is not code for black/hispanic/other. It is code for lazy welfare earning food stamp using piece of ****.

Just because you think we are racist does not make it so. I HATE ANYONE WHO EXPECTS TO LIVE OFF MY HARD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flame :

I ALSO HATE PEOPLE WHO ACCUSE ME OF BEING A RACIST BECAUSE I DO NOT LIKE HAVING THE GOVERNMENT TAKE MONEY FROM ME AND GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE AND USE IT IN A CORRUPT SYSTEM.

IF I PAID LESS TAXES I WOULD BE ABLE TO DONATE MORE TO THE POOR, AND THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT I DO DONATE TOO ACTUALLY GET A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF MONEY TO THE NEEDY THAN OUR CORRUPT AND USELESS GOVERNMENT

YOU LIBERAL WEINERS NEVER ATTACK THE ISSUE, YOU ATTACK THE INDIVIDUAL BY CALLING THEM RACIST OR BIGGOTS. I FOR ONE AM TIRED OF IT AND WILL NOT STAND FOR IT ANYMORE. THE COLOR OF MY SKIN OR ANYONE ELSES HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ISSUE

Why can't it be a choice? Support the poor if you choose too? If i want to donate money or time or clothes or whatever to a cause that is my right, but taking tax dollars from me to give to poor is a law. I know people who have grown up on welfare and have kid s of their own and still on welfare. How can it be?

there's also a little racism in his assumption that "poor" means race and he seems to think that all the poor sucking money from the system must be black or something....
that isn't true, there of plenty of white poor sucking money out of the system also, and even more white and black poor using the system responsibly. they genuinely need the help.

People on the internet in general and ATS in particular are essentially anonymous. There would be no particular reason to lie about your true feelings if nobody knows who you really are to begin with.

People use their screen names to hide behind when they show their worst, most intolerant side.

By the same token, people who really are appalled at the Lt. Governor's comments are free to say so. They are not giving into peer pressure because they need not consider it.

I think you see both happening on this thread.

Don't completely lose faith in your fellow humans.

You do realize the average american pays 25% on their income? That means I work from January 1st to April 1st FOR FREE. That means I don't get 3 full months of my salary. I'm a slave to TPTB for a a whole quarter of the year.

It's a lot more than a few pennies, and it was never meant to be this way. income tax started during the civil war (for companies) to help fund the north. Then in the 1880s, the SCOTUS killed it as unconstitutional. Then in 1913, it started up again (hand in hand w/ the giant bankers' of the times machine, the Federal Reserve). Then in WWII, they income tax went to all people of almost all incomes, and the percentage just keeps getting higher.

I understand all the comments about helping out your fellow American, and I am for that. What I am not for is FORCED depletion of my income with threat of IMPRISONMENT. The government is basically a gang forcing us to pay 'protection.' That's all there is to it.

Not long ago people with black skin were made slaves and not allowed to rise up. White people kept them down and they are still trying to get back up. See how this history affects the present?

Than this should also apply to the top dogs as well, take everything from everybody, level playing field and see how well they survive. Darwinism never intended or was integrating the monetary system, they base the whole thing on Strength, virility, and cunning, not who can crunch numbers, if met with a large tiger, you'd better know how to defend yourself, and I agree, that's a much better system than what we've got today.

I wholeheartedly agree. The bailouts to the banks and wall street is sickening. Let them fall. A child doesn't learn unless he faces consequences. The same goes for society as a whole. If you keep bailing out failing industries, they are just going to keep using bad practices, and have to be bailed out again, and not learn from their mistakes. I say let them fail, then we can learn from history and move on with out lives.

yes, we all know, the african americans in the US would be so much better off if we just left their ancesters in africa and they were born there.

I wish we could just get race out of the picture entirely!
When someone buys themselves a slave ( a practice I find very offensive by the way), they are obligated to feed, clothe, provide humane conditions for them for the service that they provide, or at least that is what I think....
If they chose to give freedom to that slave, or just don't feel like providing for them, they are still obligated to help him, teach him, train him, to provide for himself in the world he was forced into!

I don't know, I grew up in NY, but it seems to me that we've freed the slaves, they have been fed, sheltered and kept warm while we trained them, taught him, ect.... and well, the decendents of those slaves attend the same crappy schools our own kids attend!

I think the obligation has been met, what the heck, an african american has risen to the presidency, and there are african american, in our congress, in corporate board rooms, they are doctors, and lawyers.

if some of them can't get their our crappy school system and come out with the ability to be successful, guess what, join the flipping crowd!! there's alot of every race in our country facing the same problem!

Not long ago (and even to this day) whites enslave other whites, blacks enslave other blacks, orientals enslave orientals...your point being? The only reason racism is such a hot issue is because people keep dividing the human race into fake sub races. Get over yourself. Slavery is/was/will be going on.

But slavery really has nothing to do with 'race.' It has to do with finding cheap labor from places where the people cannot defend themselves (Vikings used to enslave the Irish - they're practically genetic cousins).

I wish people would quit with this nonsense, and quit spreading reasons for people to hate each other.
