I think alot of people will go for that aswell! but for me, I feel like if it started now, that would be better for me! I think i'm at a stage where I would appreciate it more, say than I would 4 years ago at 20, i'd appreciate and waste less of what I could do with such a gift, right now more than any other time i've had!

Will probably dream on this tonight!

I suppose if dying at 30 was the rule, then you would probably be in a different mindset knowing you had just X amount of years to accomplish everything you wanted to do.
I mean we all muddle through life, never knowing the date or age of our death, and its that uncertainty which holds us back in a way....
We may die young or we may live to 100 !! God help us !!

It would be so much easier to know that you'll definately live to 30, that is guaranteed, and you will have a fantastic life, but you can mentally prepare yourself for your demise at 30.....

Oh please don't dream on this tonite baby !!!

No memory of previous life, just going through endless cycles..

Well in that case it's a complete WIN, WIN !!!
Bring on my next 30 years of luxury and pleasure

If I could live to 24 normally and then just have two amazing years, that would be brilliant!
but if I have to stick to the original rules then so be it, I would still choose it! I just hope that somewhere along the line i'd be able to see things the way I do now

I agree with you, about the uncertainty holding us back! i've always thought that!

I would'nt choose luxuary's like the obvious big house, great car, heaps of girls, fame and stuff.
I'd be living in a fantasy world with all the things I love, kind of role playing I guess!
and i'd obviously choose to experience love!

Fantasy worlds are permitted right? don't burst my bubble!

I have these kinda dreams everynight! so I probably will

Of course fantasy worlds are permitted baby

EVERYTHING you desired would be yours for the taking......but only from birth to age 30 !!!

Its kinda ok talking about this, but I wonder how I'd actually react when the crystal on my palm turned black and it was my " Deathday " ????
Would I accept it, or try and run as Logan did in the movie ???

I guess that's going to remain a " Dunno " ?????

I'd run, try and escape the domes..

What awaited me on the outside, who knows, but I'd make a break for it!
Although, after such a life, you'd have no hope at all of even figuring out how to survive on your own..

Mmm, tricky tricky Brave-New-Worldy!

Thought i'd come see what you were upto Blondie....

Dying when you reach 30?

I think by the time people reach 30 your life is only just beginning... you are really just finding out what you want to do in life and who you are... so for me it wouldn't be worth it... may aswell not be born at all if you want to die by age 30!!

Raise the bar to 50 and then its a possibility....

Another thing... what about your kids? If you had any they may only see you for like 10 years and then you die....

Yes i gave you a Flag

I'm now going to try getting me a cool looking avatar

For me, absolutely not. No Sandmen in my future.

Pain and unhappiness are part of the process of learning. If one misses out on those experiences, they never grow as a soul.

Besides, imagine what kind of spoiled brat you would become after a short lifetime of having everything catered to you.

Hey Truth

Good luck with your cool ave search, can't wait to see it !!

Now as regards children, life would be so much different with society having to accept the 30 year rule. It would be a completely different world where maybe children would be educated to accept from a very early age that death at 30 was quite normal and nothing to be feared.....
Middle age and old age would be alien concepts in this kind of society.

This actually sounds VERY sinister !!!
Hope nobody from the NWO is reading this cos they might get rather excited, plus it would kinda sort out the population problem !!!
Aaaaargh.........

That, or children are taken away at birth....

That seems more like the sort of dystopian thing that would happen in this, like raised without a parental concept, dropped straight into the life created for them..

This is starting to sound more and more like a prison life, but no one realises that it IS a prison..
Live their lives blindly, unwitting, controlled, given the illusion of being able to do whatever they want, because it's all provided, no questions would even be asked, no one would think, just be sucked in to a life of distractions and pursuit of pleasure...

Crap it's happening now!!!

OMG !!!

You're right !!!

Life and reality are all an illusion anyway, so we might as well have 30 yrs of an illusion of pleasure and fun than the illusion we're being fed right now !!!

Oh yes, it would certainly be a society of spoiled brats, but EVERYONE would be a spoiled brat and not just the lucky ones in society today !!
Well if you can call them lucky.....

Its actually quite communist in a way, a society where everyone is equal. at least I think its communism ???

Mmmm, this thread is getting rather deep !!

Yeah that's kinda what Marx wanted in his utopian vision of communism..

But his system still needed workers to provide for the state, like 'from each according to his abiliy to each according to his need'...

Yeah, there's a point, in Logan's Run, who makes things, feeds the people???

Could it be that there's like a sub-class of people, the proles who have to provide for those seeking and living the pleasurable life?
And that those who have the 30 year limit are actually an unrealising elite group who have to die at age 30 for the priveledge??

Even more like Brave New World..

Caste System— people in Brave New World are genetically divided into five Greek letter categories. The best and brightest intellectuals are Alphas while the Epsilons are the manual laborers with little need for intelligence. The other castes fill jobs somewhere in between.

Alphas: Wear grey; these are the intellectuals of society. Some examples of professions can be World Controllers (Alpha double Plus), Directors of Hatcheries, and Wardens. Bernard, a psychologist, is also an Alpha.

Betas: Mulberry colored; these persons are somewhat intelligent and often work as mechanics.

Gammas: Wear green; often work as machine minders/manipulators, butlers, and other semi-thought-provoking jobs.

Deltas: Wear khaki, helicopter attendants, cold pressers, screw-cutters, package packers; are mass produced and have no individuality.

Epsilons: Wear black, can’t read or write, Sewage Workers, liftmen, foundry-workers, carriers, semi-morons.

Quick... you better get your thread deleted just in case.....

Don't you feel like your life is only just beginning now though Blondie?

You feel young again.... re-born... a new life awaits you...

I know and can understand why many would choose to not live through the crap that's out there in the World but if we put that to one side maybe the true World is there... in fact if you don't read the papers or read the news on the net you can basically live in your Paradise....

BTW

You're only as old as you feel..

Some people let the shadow overcome them, and it hits them hard, but others boot the shadow in the face and enjoy life to the full!

Seriously you can see it in people!
