Quake Watch 2010

Good morning

Yep, activity has definitely died down a bit... the normal quake zones being reported elsewhere, too, with the exception of a weird one way out in Beaufort Sea area!

Yeah, I just noticed the one in Beaufort Sea - that's kinda left field - got to run to work - back in an hour

Possibly a little early but I don't think Alaska is about to be rent apart from Canada!!


Once has to be seriously worried about the significant trend in increase in Magnitude. At that rate we should be working up to a 9.5 in time for 'The End Of Days' in 2012

If all the earthquake in the swarm stopped on a dime tomorrow - I would really jump out of my skin - not that i'm not close to that now - but, yes that would extremely significant.

I was just reviewing the quakes in the CA/MEX swarm. Did anyone notice that we did in fact have foreshocks to the 7.2? Is the 7.2 the main event or a forshock? Heres a list of prior quakes to the 7.2.

Just felt an earthquake at 9:46 am in southern california....will look further into it.

5.5 in Baja again....definitely felt it this far north, although it was mild compared to the 7.2 one.

Wow, I really, really hope that you have your glass things protected, heavy items on the floor and an emergency kit along with non perishable food and water on hand. If not, please, please take care of it really soon - like now would realy be a really good time! This whole swarm - everything about it is odd!! -- it is almost reminds me a volcanic swarm! Something big is going on here!

I don't know how much you would like to have shakes posted from Europe below the 4.5 margin of usgs?
there are about 9 mag 3 and above
there are about 14 mag 2.5 and above

IMO, it they are significant they should be posted - I have been posting 3 + with regard to the aftershocks (foreshock's) from the CA/Mex 7.2 quake. MoorfNZ has been posting 2.5 + for the same. and Berkeleygal was posting all of them for the same. I am not sure what others would like so - everyone feel free to jump right in here.

I have no idea what is significant, but when you here about an earthshake in turkey it must be bad, because they have a lot of them. what realy was significant often you now later more...

To my mind anything is significant, the thread is Quake watch 2010 every little bit helps to keep us all informed on what is going on. Keep up the good work everyone and thank you for all the great posts.
