Merry Christmas Folks!!! A Special Blessing for all of you my friends and a Toast too - for Health, Happiness and Love - May your day be filled with a special joy to last your whole life through - it's there, you just need to find it ;-) . If you are not of the Christian faith (which I was born and raised but have chosen my own path) - I still wish this for you - for any High Holiday regardless of Faith has the same message!!!

I still really think the area to watch for the next larger quake it somewhere between the North American / South American Area.

Now reduced to a 7.3 and they are working on getting it down below 7.0 before the end of the year. Can't have another 7 in the figures!

Merry Christmas

I was waiting for a big quake close to us yesterday morning, the birds are usually making a racket at dawn all around our place, there are quite a few trees, but YM it was dead still, cloudless sky and not a sound, it lasted well into mid morning before we heard any birds at all. But no quake. Weird.

I'm away back to bed, its only 4:30am here

Yeah that looks bigger than the Bonin Islands waveform doesn't it

Another subduction quake

Geofon at 7.7 Manual, we should be able to see the true size from the size and number of aftershocks, I just can't believe that the Bonin quake was a 7.4, look at all those +5 aftershocks on the USGS list, and still going on +5, wasn't that 7.9 initially www.abovetopsecret.com...

We are being hit by a new raft of aftershocks here in Canterbury, New Zealand this morning - after a relatively long period of frequency and mag decrease, too...

This one, a 4.9, happened about an hour ago - my friends were petrified as they were in a large shopping mall when it hit and things flying everywhere - struck right under Christchurch itself this time.

* Power out to some friend's in town

I was lying in bed and rocked and hubby came running in...

Haven't been able to get onto the kids, but assume they were all partying and didn't even f eel it! I was worried about them going before they left and my daughter kept saying stuff like "what if I die?' so I was sort of expecting some big movement there.
But I'm not worried about them as news reports have come up with no casualties or damage. Actually I'm really jealous that they've seen a volcano, experienced a big earthquake and tsunami.
Sorry about the curse, Muzzy. Don't worry Puterman, they won't be going to Ireland. Thanks Ressiv & Westcoast for your concern.
