Yes, nothing much happening there and certainly not the caldera erupting! See my two replies in the thread. One interesting quake area though.

Don't send rain to muzzy, that is unkind! It is bad enough that you folks have to celebrate Christmas in the middle of summer, but a wet one as well?

What odds from your bookies for a white Christmas?

Sorry some of you folks are having so much rain!!! Been really busy around here - hunting season, processing food, many birthdays, cakes, cookies, getting ready for Christmas, getting the firewoods in order (it's been in the low teens here every night - brrr) tis the season - busy, busy, busy - oh and just got over the dreaded flu - mass doses of antibiotics 3 weeks and still kept on going - would much rather have prefered to just sit right here and chat with you folks.

So what are the instruments stuck on 5.1?

On the 13th December there was a 5.0 in the Azores which actually did not get picked up. There was no further one on USGS so I guess it was a one off which got forgotten. But it has been pushing out smaller ones on EMSC which I have been aware of and today I looked at the tally:

There are actually quite a few - 96 in the last 2 months. Since this is an active volcanic region I am wondering if anything is going down there. Worth keeping an eye on.

Have you noticed that just about every segment of the Pacific Plate has had at least a moderate quake in the past week, except the Pacific Northwest/Northern CA?

I don't really believe in the concept of "overdue" (seems the earth does what it wants despite "earthquake prediction" claims) but it does seem we haven't had our fair share in comparison to the rest of the Pacific Rim.

6's can cause some deaths due to the adobe type construction there in Iran, but this looks pretty isolated, might be some damage at Nematabad though

You have exceeded the maximum window of 4 hours allowed to edit your post.

someone should buy ATS a clock so they can see what 4 hours looks like

9:45 to 12:11 IS ONLY 3 HOURS AND TWENTY SIX MINUTES

Anywy seeing as I can't add the new aftershocks to the list above I will post the revised list again, hense using up more ATS bandwidth

There are a couple of more aftershocks between the 2nd and 3rd on the original list (I marked the originals with a *)
I tried to compare with EMSC's lists but its too hard to tell if the times are out a bit or they are different quakes altogether. I have the same problem with Greece and Turkey compares with EMSC

Good morning! (I gotta stop sleeping during the day!)

Bam Bam Bam, Bam Bam Iran

It wouldn't have been funny if it hadn't been near Bam, Iran.

Cloudy here, hoping for a miracle and the clouds will part for me to see at least a little of the eclipse!

47knots here in Cook Strait and 20C, looks like the clouds are clearing, good chance we'll get to see it now, its supposed to be a Red Eclipse

Very clear here in the northeastern USA :-) I have a light snow cover from a few days ago - the yard/fields are alight with the full moons reflection - very, very bright and powerful. The eclipse is beginning although I can't see the effects yet but mother moon is full, big, bright and beautiful. Happy Solstice All - Full eclipse should hit here in 1 hour.

I wonder with the power of this very dramatic alighment if it will shake the earth - lots of biblical theory's in the air tonight!

Peace and Lots of Love to all my friends here!! You folks make my days worth living!

Wanted to get some video for you aoo but - I had a party pooper that backed out last minute and I don't know how set up the video camra - I am sorry
