This new swarm on the CA/NV border reminds me of the Reno, NV swarms that were happening for a while.

Not sure what happened in the Reno swarm, but I don't think you can classify this as a "swarm" because of the 4.4 which came in pretty early on ( looking at the list) I think these are aftershocks of that.

Swarms can be described as a series of earthquakes by the observation that no single earthquake in the sequence is obviously the main shock
Aftershocks are earthquakes that follow the largest shock of an earthquake sequence. They are smaller than the mainshock and within 1-2 rupture lengths distance from the mainshock. Aftershocks can continue over a period of weeks, months, or years. In general, the larger the mainshock, the larger and more numerous the aftershocks, and the longer they will continue.

Thanks for the swarm clarification. Just looking at the image, it looks like other recent instances in Nevada is all.

Being regulars here I figured you'd know the difference, I wasn't trying to be clever, just so many people make the mistake, I blame the MSM for this, they always seem to get it wrong.
