Also, if that is not enough, why don't you check the statistics at Canadian flight schools. You'll see that a very large percentage of Flight School Students are from those countries in your list, and they have chosen to train in Canada for that very reason.

arent canadian pilot instructors trianed by the USAF?

Yeah the Argentines did do well against the RAF, they shot down 0 planes and only lost 28, magnificent.

And in the Battle of Britain mention above, funny how the USA gets listed when there were only 7 of them while the Poles Czechs French etc are ignored with their much greater contribution, which reminds me......see new thread.

Let's not forget the Finnish airforce...We may be small but we pack some power
I think our pilots did pretty good in the "winter war" and continuation war...Ilmari Juutilainen for example shot 94 planes down, even though he flew with crap like the brewster.
But nowadays, hmmm it's hard to say cuz we haven't had any action.

ahhh, what is the winter war? any ways what if Russia joined NATO and Nato did an operation somewhere. If desert storm looked easy imagine what would happen then

Nope they are not. Many other countries send there pilots to Canada to train, so I doubt Canadian pilots would then go to the US to train. Here is some info about it.

www.airforce.forces.ca...

EDIT: I just noticed you wrote pilot Instructors. That i'm not too sure about there training. Maybe some have been trained by the USAF. No idea though.

I think this can only be settled by collating operational performance in hostile teritory.America being the largest country is difficult to measure as no other country has deployed the same volume of force recently, but America has been lossing alot of aircraft compaired to other countries. And technology has taken away the pilots skills.

Yeah, the Finnish defense forces kicked Red Army ass pretty much in this time.

What about the RAAF? Their are f18C/D's over in iraq now. Plus their the second oldest air force! The RAAF also played a big part in WWII. Also their getting the JSF so they'll have one of the most advanced aircraft in the world soon!

No they are not. Our program orignally started in WW1 under the RAAF and by WW2 we had our own program, training facilities and manufacuring capacity producing some of the best fighters and fighter pilots in WW2. The only remnent of our superiour training and technology is our training mentality but from what i've heard the same is pretty much true throughout our military even though it is woefully underfunded.

Yep, Australia's is pretty good, just very small. We'll be getting the slightly cut down version of the JSF.

The InAF certainly deserves better than 7.
Inida has scores of Mirages, Jaguars, Mig-23,27,25,29, Sukhois, Sea Harriers. They also got some 400 odd upgraded mig-21's

They also got large numbers of indegeniously built Kiran, Maruth, Ajeeth and now The new NISHANTH

The Su-30MKI of the Indian Air Force is perhaps the best airplane in service today. It is essentially a Su-37 renamed. Its got 3D TVC and is the first and only service aircraft to do so.It is as menuverable as the Su-37.Currently all Su-30's of the InAF are being upgraded to MKI status.
vayu-sena.tripod.com...

India is also a major partner of the PAK-FA programme in competition to the JSF.

Also, India has more airplanes than France. Not just planes but pilots are really well trained too. I remember reading that there are atleast 70 IAF pilots who can do the cobra. That speaks for itself.

InAF's prowess is infact far superior to the Chinese,French,British air forces.
This was clearly borne out in the Indo-French, Anglo-Inidan joint air exercises

Considering India's tensions with Pakistan Indian pilots are most combat ready than any of the other AF's in the list

I'd put India at no3 anyday

What you are talking about is wrong.

As the powerful air forces, they will have their own Jet tech, including engine, radar and weapons. They can build jet without others' help.

So,in my opinion
1.U.S, Russia(the best in the world)
2.UK, France, German(advanced industy and better Jet)
3.China,Israei,Japan(they can build Jet.But if they want to get advanced one, they need others' help, they have to buy them or tech support)

As a Chinese,I will never feel proud of using Russia's SU-30.

It is a shame. It shows China lag behind the world.

If India can build the vector engine(over 7.5) and radar system(1437 radar system designed and produced by Chinese institution, equal to R-73 or APG-65)without import anything from Russia, then you can say you are superior to China,or any other countries.

France,UK or Isreal have better avionics than China.
