Abrahamic religions are religions which share the patriarch Abraham in their religious lineage, although he plays different roles in different Abrahamic religions. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all considered to be Abrahamic religions, as Abraham appears in the religious texts of all of these faiths, and the Druze, Bahai, Samaritans, and others are sometimes considered to be Abrahamic religions as well. All told, over half of the people in the world identify themselves as members of an Abrahamic religion.

Ezekiel 1:16 (NIV)
This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.
NASA's Josef F. Blumrich interpretation
Descriptions That Verify a Flying Guiding Vehicle
♦ The escort that accompanies the travelers is called a "pillar of a cloud" by day and a "a pillar of fire" by night. The word pillar is translated from `ammuwd, pronounced, am-mood; a column as standing; also a stand, i.e. platform. This means that this could either be a column or a platform that had the appearance of a cloud in the daylight and when the sun went down, it lit up. And, it is staying close to the people, in other words, hovering. When considered in light of the many other descriptions, replacing the word platform where pillar appears seems a more logical choice.
♦ The platform comes directly between the Hebrews and the pursuing Egyptian army. (Exodus 14:19)
♦ The platform harassed the Egyptian army. (Exodus 14:24)
♦ The "glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud" that leads the Hebrews. (Exodus 16:10)
♦ The lord ascended on Mount Sinai with great lights beaming into the night sky, shaking the mountain greatly and broadcasting very loud sounds with increasing volume. (Exodus 19:18 -20, 20:18)
♦ People were fearful of the vehicle. (Exodus 20:18)
♦ The platform/cloud descends and hovers. (Exodus 33:9, 34:5, Numbers 12:5)
♦ The platform/cloud ascends. (Exodus 40:36)
♦ God broadcasts his voice from the platform/cloud. (Exodus 33:9, 34:5, Psalms 99:7)
♦ The people follow the platform wherever it led them and was always with them. (Exodus 40:36-38, Numbers 9:17-18, 10:34, Nehemiah 9:19)
♦ The cloud provides shade and light. (Numbers 9:16)
♦ The platform/cloud hovers above the group for days, months and even up to a year. (Numbers 9: 22)
♦ The cloud takes off and lands. (Numbers 10:11-12)
♦ The vehicle protects the people. (Numbers 14:14)
♦ The platform/cloud scouts ahead for places that the Hebrews will rest. (Deuteronomy 1:33)

Once i got over his arrogance and irreverance of what actually happens in a Church**, I thought his points were very interesting. It makes me wonder why no-one else has done this?
It seems to make perfect sense.

In the programme below Richard D Hall takes a look at the subject of UFOs, aliens and the abrahamic belief system - there are a few inconsistencies but on the whole he does make some very interesting points – particularly People that follow the abrahamic religion may find the programme a little controversial as the presenter does make some pretty irreverent comments but I think if you've got an interest in (or an opinion on) the UFO subject then its well worth a watch.
The above painting is by Carlo Crivelli (1430-1495) and is called "The Annunciation" (1486) and hangs in the National Gallery, London. A disk shaped object is shining a pencil beam of light down onto the crown of Mary's head.
This painting is called "The Madonna with Saint Giovannino". It was painted in the 15th century. The Palazzo Vecchio lists the artist as unknown although attributed to the Lippi school.Above Mary's right shoulder is a disk shaped object. A blow up of this section shows a man and his dog in which it can clearly be seen looking up at the object.
This image is by flemish artist Aert De Gelder and is entitled "The Baptism of Christ" It was painted in 1710 and hangs in the Fitzwilliam Musuem, Cambridge. A disk shaped object is shining beams of light down on John the Baptist and Jesus.

When Moses led the Isrealites out of slavery in Egypt he certainly didn't do it alone. From the account recorded in the book of Exodus, it seems he had a lot of help from above, and this help appeared in a very unordinary way.
Now remember that when the history of that journey was recorded thousands of years ago, the author didn't have modern words like "UFO" or even "airplane" to describe what was witnessed. Think about it, how would you describe a UFO if you couldn't use any modern words? I'd imagine you'd compare it to something that people would be familiar with. Even today people refer to "cigar shaped" or "saucer shaped" or even simply "triangle shaped" UFOs.
With this in mind, let's look at the first account of the strange object that appeared to lead the Isrealites shortly after they left Egypt:
Exodus 13: 21-22 (NIV)
By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

The object is described as a "pillar" - certainly a common visual picture for anyone who lived during that time. But what would we think today if we saw this object that is compared to a pillar of cloud and fire?
Looking at the event from today's perspective, I think that a large object like this that could move on its own would likely be some type of vehicle. Given the lack of roads, this vehicle probably would have had to travel off the ground - either hovering or flying - to be this mobile.
It's interesting how the object is described as a "cloud" during the day - you'll see this visualization used later in the story too. Do you think that maybe the craft actually used a smoke screen or mist to hide itself so it would appear less foreign to the people? Maybe the occupants were using this tactic to keep everyone as calm as possible as this huge group moved out of Egypt.
As far as describing the object as a pillar of fire at night, how else would you describe an object that was illuminated if you weren't familiar with electric lights?

Exodus 14: 21-29 (NIV)
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.
