Royal Raymond Rife - Cutting Edge Cures or Quackery?

I have stumbled onto the life and works of this "interdisciplinary scientist" in another thread I had posted on "human parasites". For an overview here is the wiki listing for Rife. It is a rather quick read and you will notice that it leans toward characterizing his work as "quackery".

Royal Raymond Rife - Cutting Edge Cures or Quackery?

Rife's closest colleagues were threatened, bribed or murdered. His business associates were destroyed financially from the costs of fighting a costly frivolous lawsuit even though they eventually won. Rife laboratories were burglarized or destroyed by arson, and his accomplishments have since been mostly hidden from the general public for 60 years. Fishbein would eventually be dethroned in disgrace by the AMA after his true nature was exposed to the world a decade later in the Hoxey/Hearst libel trial of 1949, but the damage to Rife and many others had long since been done. Royal Raymond Rife was emotionally devastated by this insidious persecution and died a broken man in 1971. It is one of the most promising and horrific stories of the 20th century as many millions of potentially preventable cancer deaths have occurred since Rife made his amazing discoveries in the 1930’s.

- excerpted from "America’s Medical Holocaust / Rife Wellness Electronics Technology Suppression and Revival"
by George Gaboury, President of The San Francisco Tesla Society

Here is the entire article from the San Francisco Tesla Society on Rife. There is a short video titled "Effects of the Rife Beam Ray on Microbes" that is also there in the article. You get to see one of the microscopic buggers have it's cell wall ruptured by something, we are led to think it's the "mortal oscillatory frequencies" as described in the article.

Who Was Royal Rife?

Mr. Gaboury has a far different slant on Royal Rife and his discoveries when compared to the Wiki entry.

Here is what wiki has on Morris Fishbein. The man that Mr. Gaboury calls "Medical Mussolini" and indicates opposed Rife's research and breakthroughs.

The medical sociologist Paul Starr wrote in his Pulitzer Prize-winning book: "The AMA Council became a national accrediting agency for medical schools, as an increasing number of states adopted its judgments of unacceptable institutions." Further, he noted: "Even though no legislative body ever set up ... the AMA Council on Medical Education, their decisions came to have the force of law". With the AMA grading the various medical colleges, it became predictable that the homeopathic colleges, even the large and respected ones, would eventually be forced to stop teaching homeopathy or die.

- excerpted from "How the AMA dictatorship got rich and our expense and bad health"
by Dana Ullman, a homeopathic author on nwo101.com

"Dana Ullman, MPH, one of America’s leading experts on homeopathy and is a former consultant to alternative medicine institutes at Harvard, Columbia, and University of Arizona schools of medicine, and the author of eight books on homeopathic medicine." - homeopathic.com

Here's the entire nwo101.com article that blasts the AMA and Fishbein:

How the AMA dictatorship got rich and our expense and bad health

Added to the end of the article is this mention of Rife:

PS: Royal Raymond Rife, a scientific genius, had a cure for cancer in 1929 using "rife radio frequencies" It was tested on patients in southern California and proved it worked. On November 20, 1931, forty-four of the nation's most respected medical authorities honored Royal Rife with a banquet billed as The End To All Diseases at the Pasadena estate of Dr. Milbank Johnson. Morris Fishbien, a Zionist and hatemonger, destroyed Rife and many others that followed him so he and his criminal friends could make money selling ineffective pharmaceuticals. This is the first I've ever looked at what Rife did.
I know I have heard his name before.
This is amazing stuff.
I can understand why he died a broken man.
The AMA , since its inception, has religiously persecuted all forms of pathogen treatment which do not make huge amounts of money and/or keep the patient dependent upon the treatment.
So f&#$ing sad, really.
Nice thread.

Royal Raymond Rife - Cutting Edge Cures or Quackery?

Has the story of Royal R. Rife simply been buried with the passage of time? Has the AMA, big pharma and corporate medicine in general run roughshod over effective cures to ensnare us as repeat customers? Who do you believe? The corporate mainstream sources or the homespun conspiracy sites? They both try to sell. Many of the sites related to Rife have electronic gadgets for sale that are touted as providing the cures that he discovered. These gadgets don't come cheap. From my assessment of Rife and his discoveries I would not expect results would come from gadgets but more sophisticated equipment. That's just my impression and we all know that with time sophisticated equipment as well as "gadgets" come down in price.

What do you think?

What do you know?

Thanks DM. I stumbled on this guy on another thread I have going. It was the first I had heard of him. After reading the various accounts you would think he would be a bigger name especially in conspiracy talk circles. Even quackery gets bigger press. It's hard to know what to believe but not hearing much about him either good or bad makes me all the more curious. This is one dead horse, pardon the expression, that has not been beat to my satisfaction.

If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck.......... (Well you know)

The problem is that history is rife (Get it) with this type of stuff. You toss in a few stories about persecution and it makes it seem like something new and revolutionary is being squelched.

Thanks for that Fred. Of course it seems hoaxy from a distance but if that were entirely the criteria for looking into a subject on ATS there would I think be precious few threads. What Quackwatch does not do is attack Rife and his findings directly. They attack the people that have made money off of gadgets and the like, linked indirectly to Rife. As I said very early on, I think that if these methods were possible it would take substantially more sophisticated equipment than what is being sold on these Internet sites. I think the possibility is that Rife got shut down before his research could come to a conclusion. If it continued and were encouraged would it have been fruitful? I can't tell.

Royal Raymond Rife - Cutting Edge Cures or Quackery?

The following is from an article on rense.com

He received 14 major awards and honors and was given an honorary Doctorate by the University of Heidelberg for his work. During the 66 years that Rife spent designing and building medical instruments, he worked for Zeiss Optics, the U.S. Government, and several private benefactors. Most notable was millionaire Henry Timkin, of Timkin roller bearing fame.

Because Rife was self-educated in so many different fields, he intuitively looked for his answers in areas beyond the rigid scientific structure of his day. He had mastered so many different disciplines that he literally had, at his intellectual disposal, the skills and knowledge of an entire team of scientists and technicians from a number of different scientific fields. So, whenever new technology was needed to perform a new task, Rife simply invented and then built it himself.

Rife's inventions include a heterodyning ultraviolet microscope, a microdissector, and a micromanipulator. When you thoroughly understand Rife's achievements, you may well decide that he has the most gifted, versatile, scientific mind in human history.

By 1920, Rife had finished building the world's first virus microscope. By 1933, he had perfected that technology and had constructed the incredibly complex Universal Microscope, which had nearly 6,000 different parts and was capable of magnifying objects 60,000 times their normal size. With this incredible microscope, Rife became the first human being to actually see a live virus, and until quite recently, the Universal Microscope was the only one which was able view live viruses.

Modern electron microscopes instantly kill everything beneath them, viewing only the mummified remains and debris. What the Rife microscope can see is the bustling activity of living viruses as they change form to accommodate changes in environment, replicate rapidly in response to carcinogens, and transform normal cells into tumor cells.

- excerpted from Royal Raymond Rife by Jeff Rense

The entire article can be read here:

Roayl Raymond Rife

That's quite a bit of hype and from only one source but most sites do mention the intellectual capacity and inventive skills of Rife. The other sites do not go into detail on Rife's microscopes.

Electromagnetic Therapy

In this article the "Rife machines" are lumped into this broad category of Electromagnetic Therapy. These are the Internet sales type devices and not anything produced or designed by Rife himself.

G'day Hemisphere

You might find it interesting to read about irreversible electroporation (IRE).

Here is a link to the first medical device (the NanoKnife) utilising IRE technology.

I wonder if Rife did any work in this area.

There is so much static regarding this man. The negative information that is out there pertains mainly to the charlatans that tried to make money off of Rife's work without any actual connection to Rife. The following link will take you to a reproduction of a Smithsonian report from 1944 on Rife's "Universal Microscope". If you ignore the rest of this site which is based around Rife and focus on this report, I think you will get some measure of the genius of the man. There you can also open and view a PDF of the original Smithsonian report where this section on Rife was included under: The new microscopes, by R.E.Seidel and M. Elizabeth Winter and the Rife section starts on page 17 of the PDF.

The Universal Microscope

If this Smithsonian report is not a hoax itself and I don't think it is, then Rife was a rather well respected inventor and scientist early on, at least for designing microscopes. Which lends further credence to my thinking the man was not a hoaxer himself and that his work and theories were abused for economic gains by others.

Thank you Maybe. At first glance this NanoKnife would seem to be an extension or at least a variation of Rife's work. I'll have to look into this further. That's great!

Thank you for that. As yet I am unable to get that documentary to play at that site and the only thing I've found on YouTube is a trailer for that documentary. We will keep trying.

Oh man sorry, I didn't even check to see that it was a working video. It's sad, as this was one of my favorite documentaries. I did find a website where you could buy the dvd by searching google. Think this could be censorship at work?

Let me summarize the documentary for you:

* He invented a cure-all for virus' and bacteria by transmitting a resonating Fq for the virus or bacteria through a vacuum tube filled with a gas (argon?), and directed to the subject

* You needed a specific Fq for each virus or bacteria

* He tried to sell it, partnered with a business man

* Invention was too simple to patent, so they obscured the Fq's in the making of the machine, which resulted in a loss of performance

* Business politics resulted in a lawsuit over ownership, Roy became an alcoholic from it before even going to court.

* Invention has been suppressed

Thanks. I found that the video has been pulled from a number of sites by the film maker as they were in copyright violation. It is still for sale at the film makers site.

Your encapsulation is along the lines of what I imagined might have happened. That the method for targeting and killing the various viruses worked. That the mass production of working instruments to carry out the treatments never happened. The reason could only be guessed at and I was thinking that it was because it would have been too costly and the treatment unproven.

This from the Wiki entry:

Rife said that he could find a Mortal Oscillatory Rate (MOR) for various pathogenic organisms, and directed his research accordingly, culturing and testing various pathogens with his Universal #3 microscope and his directed radio frequency energy 'beam ray' tube machine. Rife claimed to have documented the precise frequencies which destroyed specific organisms, and claimed that many, if not all, contagious diseases could be cured using this radiation treatment. There is no independent verification of this claim.

Well-known debunker Peter Bowditch points out that no single virus, even Rife's hypothesized 'BX' virus which "caused all cancers", can account for all forms of cancer. According to the current medical understanding, viruses are only responsible for approximately 15% of all cancers.

This makes me wonder if the other 85% simply can not be identified as the cause perhaps because they can not be viewed in a living state under an electron microspcope. I wonder if "Myth Busters" would consider fixing a Rife microscope and debunking whether or not living viruses could be viewed? That would make a great show.

Find a way to make it explode, and I'm sure they'd love to try it.

They did talk a lot about his revolutionary microscope too. The first half of the film is about the invention, second half is about the business and kind of boring.

This will likely be my last post of information on Rife as the conspiratorial aspects of his story appear to have very limited appeal. The following link takes you to a short statement from George Gaboury, President of the San Francisco Tesla Society and includes a mention of Royal Rife.

Message from the President

Make up your own mind on Royal Raymond Rife, I hope you have found this of some interest.

Hello,

I am fairly new here and basically just stumbled across this site accidently while looking for public info on Magic Johnson and his H.I.V.
status and i most certainly didn't expect Dr. Rife to be a topic here.

Dr. Rife was 225% for real a complete genius and absolutely light years ahead of his time. The word "QUACK" belongs nowhere near the mans name.

I am a privately funded Ph.D in virology & microbiology and for the past ten or so years i have been working with immunologists and others in my field up to and including a specialist in nanotech medicine as well as a few others and our goal is not only to reproduce his work but to bring it into the 21st century and I don't think that I have to tell you good people here what that means.

So far its taken sixteen people to = 1 DR. ROYAL RAYMOND RIFE.

There is plenty of misinformation out there on him and the RIFE MACHINES that we have tested are NOT what Dr.Rife intended so please be carefull.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.
