While I agree with you for the most part; I have NO illusions that this soldier is fighting to allow me to surf the internet ... or protecting any of my freedoms, for that matter. No one has ever tried to blow me up or keep me from speaking my mind. Until that happens, I have no grand fantasies that this person is fighting to "keep me safe" or "Protect my liberties". Rhetoric like that only has a place on Fox news or other mainstream public propaganda networks.

The other people replying to this thread regarding the OP legitimacy? I have no reason to doubt all of you are 4 year old little girls who got bored playing with their barbies and decided to play on the internet. I believe that as much as I believe the OP is lying. Why not? There's just as much proof of one as the other. Go back to playing with your barbies and leave the internet to the adults.

Those of you who've served and are replying with tough love like, "suck it up" or "you signed up for a paycheck" ... well, after those statements you have NO right to ever bitch or moan about the job you have. Or to complain about having to have dinner with your in-laws. Or complain about you children when they don't listen or you have to sit through a music recital. After all, you knew what you were getting into when you decided to take the job, get married or have children. Don't EVER complain about those things EVER again. Because when you complain about having dinner with your in-laws you sound like those other 4 year old little girls who're doubting the legitimacy of the OP.

To the OP. Thank you for your service. Keep up the good work. I'm sure you'll return home soon to be with your family and friends.

I wont be getting any presents from my parents since the economy has drained them dry. However the only present they want from me is to come home safe so thats my motivation for the whole deployment. Ill be back in the states in several months.

You can always check my IP address like someone here mentioned before and find out what an a$$ youve made of yourself. Of course I dont tell my superiors that im on ATS, why would I? I would most likely be in trouble if they found out, but thats the risk im willing to take to spread the word of whats really going on here.

I would gladly accept those topless posters but the top brass would have a fit if they saw them
. I promised myself that I would not be in a relationship until I was out of the army due to family strains and seperation. From what ive heard we should be out of here by late april to early may

Stop-Loss:

I just wanted to say thank you, not
just you but all service men and women.
As a veteran I know that it can seem
as if you are unappreciated, especially
at this time of year.

What I do not understand is the hatred
seen on this thread. I am not referring
to the usual anti-military crap that always
seems to show up, but the cold blooded
disrespectful words from other vets.

I never served in combat or even in an
active war zone so maybe I am not
understanding what is going on, but I
would never have called you a liar.

The really sad thing is some posters referred
to you as a fraud, poser, and pretty
much scum until you could prove you
knew that you were deployed, then they
followed that up with "no disrespect
intended". It sure seemed disrespectful
to me.

Keep your head down and chin up.

When they say he isn't really in the military , it's more of a mental exercise on their part in the exorcism of any kind of undesirable notion they don't want or need , messing up their ideal of some heroic fighter for truth and justice and the american way of life . It's more of an exercise in extricating the poster from their delusions of what they want to envisage their crusading troops to be like . That is the trouble with all that flag waving and troop worshipping antics you get up to over there . Somebody turns out to be not quite what you hold in such reverence , and you go denying they could have been any part of it in the first place .

Hey Stop Loss!

I heard Barbara Streisand, Bob Saget, and Bart Simpson are heading to Iraq to spread holiday cheer?

Is that TRUE?

Even if a room full of people with B.S. initials "were in Iraq" the thread is certainly true for somebody out there.

I'd like to extend a heartfelt go # yourself to you. The real terrorists are you. The real enemy is you. You are doing nobody a favour but those above you...... the few, the proud, the corrupt. Yeah, I know, It's a job. I bet you all have got the same excuse. Merry Christmas.

To Stop-loss! A belated Merry Christmas!

Personal Disclosure: I hope the link I provide for you below, both cheers you up and maybe, just maybe, provides information on a way out of your particular SitX.

P.S.
This thread has inspired my creative juices! Thanks! I see $$$'s to be winkled out of that incomprehensibly huge DoD buget the US provides itself!

These idiots are all members of ATS, suprisingly. And STILL they thank this soldier for his "service for their country." It's not for their country, it's for a few global elite agencies with private agendas. Use your heads.

That is what comes from a culture of the brainwashed. They come out with the same rhetoric , the same little idioms . ' Thank you for your service' . It's like watching a zombie movie .

Well two nights before Christmas we had a double amputee with two others badly hurt, and about six bad guys gone. That is enough action for me for the week...

What is wrong with that? They at least pay well.
