My wife the probation officer has done nothing to encourage my belief in social welfare either. "Why should I get a job when I'm on welfare?" is the most frequent reply to a job status query. And then they have enough THC in their system to kill an ox. Our tax dollars at work (reguardless of my or your opinion on the legality thereof).

How much THC does it take to kill an ox? Last time I checked it's pretty hard to OD on THC...

And I for one love communism... I'd rather play for a team (humanity) than for self... just my opinion.

An acquaintance of mine who worked as a political advisor in the late 60s till the 80s summed it up best for me.

"Capitalist countries have to shoot people to keep them out, communist countries have to shoot them to keep them in."

As the thread title states, I can think of no worse destiny for mankind than an entire world dissolved into one massless formless communist "utopia".

there is no "humanity" in communism, none, nada, zip. Communism brings out the absolute worst in humans.

That is the absolute truth! The USSR now Russia shot many of their people who tried to excape. Communist have gotten smarter and don't give their people "any" opportunity to escape, North Korea and Cuba the worst to escape from. Aint no one trying to get into those countries.

Communism (socialism) is what the bankers and automakers turned to when greed got them into trouble - Bailouts, handouts and money for big bonuses! All paid for by the brothers and sisters of America!

It was paid for by Capitalists and those who make their money in Capitalistic societies. The problem was caused in a government agency called the Federal Reserve and was bailed out by taxes on Capitalism and the people that have Capitalistic jobs.

Communist and Socialist are government systems that feed on the money that is created by Capitalism.

There are plenty of countries that have no Capitalism, we call them Third world countries.

communism is such a flawed idea because it violates nature. In theory it seems so great, but in practice, it does not work....

Capitalism has Philanthropy and willing participation in charity.

Dude, you need to brush up on history. Capitalism has no where near the control over its people that communism does. How old are you? Dont you remember the U.S.S R?

Yes Capitalism verses Communism. Also during that time the USA lifted up the standard of living for most of the free world to boot. It was the USA that kicked Lenin's butt. Stalin wised up.

I know, I feel very guilty living in a home I purchased with the money I earned. I feel guilty jumping in one of my 4 cars I earned. I feel guilty putting nice clothes and shoes on my children that I earned. I feel guilty typing this post on the 5k laptop that I earned.

I wish I could live in government housing and be paid a government stipend that was confiscated from wealthy people. I wish take public transportation that was paid for by confiscating money from wealthy people. I wish I could buy my clothes at rummage sales or the goodwill with my welfare check that was money confiscated by the government from wealthy people. I wish I could just go to the library on public transportation and wait in line to use computers that were provided by the city by money it made by confiscating rediculously high property taxes from wealthy people.

I know...Material things.. Who needs them?

Capitalism has developmental stages. We are now in the stage of Globalisarion whereby big business have transcended the national boundaries. The previous stage was multinationalism. Marx predicted all of these stages and Marx is suppose to be on the reading list of the Harvard MBA course I am told.

I understand the OP's perspective clearly. I am against Totalitarianism. Both the so called communists and capitalists exhibit totalitarianism to a greater or lesser extent. People should read Marx and Adam Smith to understand the differences and the arguements. IMHO it is the human drive to power that kicked in with Stalin that poisoned the first communist country. I believe that the three years after the Russian revolution that was the golden age of Communism in Practice.

If anyone believes that the class system does not exist in the USA simply ask themselves why the bankers were bailed out for the second time in 100years. Yes the bankers not the banking system. Class interests have shaked our society. Democrat or Republican, Labour or Tory they are all fundamentally the same as they put themselves and their class first.

During the cold war the US could have overthrown the Soviet union by simply not selling them grain. Mrs Thatcher was a fierce opponent of German unification. These are but two points that indicate the subjective nature of so-called anti communist stance that so many of us have been duped into believing.

You have the communism of Utopia and you have the communism of the real world. Since you know so much, why don't you educate people of fantasy versus reality? Because what people know about communism is the reality of its true horror. Not this fantasy BS that the communists use to sell the idea to the ignorant.

Communism + Fantasy = Looks great. Total BS but looks great.
Communism + Reality = Totalitarian regime that murders millions of its own citizenry.
