now that I look at it closer in the negative, it looks like some of those rocks might be floating. Anyone else?
One thing I noticed on those LROC images is that there are areas with those white rocks, that look like they are the older rocks that got hidden by all that dust lying on the Moon.
So I guess that it's just the remains of an old impact crater, and the square pattern is just a coincidence of the way the rocks were broken and by the impact.

I add the circle and square in red.
now look again the first image (without red circle and square)
Do you still see a square pattern ?
You can notice that this image resolution and quality are the best available now.
the resolution of google moon is really poor compare to LRO picture.
The old song of clementine blabla sounds finished.
Please, join me, to congratulate LRO for their jobs.

I darkened the photo and deepend the contrast. Now it looks like a raised circular ring, with shadowed depth around both the outside of the ring and on the inside of it. Also with the photo darkened and deepended like this, it looks to me as though something was spewed into the area above and around the raised pit. It seems to have airborn particles when I view it in this manner.
