Come on now....lighten up...I don't necessarily believe it, but I did find it fascinating reading, and am amazed at the amount of information available around such an odd subject.

I live in Austin, TX, where Hal Puthoff has his company, Earth Tech; maybe I'll see if I can get an audience with him and ask him about his research on the subject and while I'm at it, ask him about remote viewing.

LordBucket and EarthWanderer... how much could I learn from your knowledge of nature?
And what of the insignificance of real gold?
What is the true journey, I would like to study.
Are Mercury and Venus symbolic of both the sex aspect and other physical/spiritual aspects?

Either way, FMA is not TRUE alchemy, but there are definitely hints of Truth in it, just as in many other animes.
The journey involves a spiritual rather than religious journey. This is because of religion's reliance on Faith, which is powerful, but not as powerful as it can be combined with Wisdom and Understanding. What many zealots do now is utilize Faith and learn wisdom from uneducated journeymen. Understanding escapes those who aren't learned.

That is for you to decide. We are merely catalysts.

what of the insignificance of real gold?

What of it?

The journey involves a spiritual rather than religious journey.

Many paths lead to a destination.

is powerful, but not as powerful

Airplanes go faster than bicycles. Shall we therefore expect everyone to fly airplanes?

I won't dismiss the validty of a faith-based path. It may be appropriate for some people. Not everyone knows how to fly an airplane. And bicycling mistakes are less likely to result in tragedy.

So what if someone chooses to take a slower, gentler path? Is not the important thing that they get where they're going?

Are Mercury and Venus symbolic of both the sex aspect
and other physical/spiritual aspects?

I personally dislike the "method" of learning fixed associations. This symbolizes that, dreams about that always mean this, and a cigar is or isn't always really a cigar.

Symbols can be useful, but if you understand and intend a particular idea, why bother with a symbol to represent it? Why not simply use the idea?

More knowledge is to be gained by reading a book than by focusing on the symbolism of a book as a source of knowledge.

I see...
Would you happen to know a method by which I could further my current travels to the East?

Gold is the spiritual essence of me once my soul has journeyed. Each of us are able to transmute ourselves from lead to gold;
from what I have read, I need one who has completed the journey to show me the way.

I've read the same, but I don't believe it. As you say...

Be more specific. What exactly are you asking for?

I'm asking what do i need to read to reach enlightenment. I am willing to spend more than a lifetime to dedicate to the Truth, in reading and in practice.

There is only one thing you need to read: You.

I am willing to spend more than a lifetime to dedicate
to the Truth, in reading and in practice.

And probably have already.

what do i need to read to reach enlightenment

Ok. Answer this question please. Let's walk through it together and see where we end up:

What is this enlightenment you seek?

Enlightenment of the soul and its evolutionary track towards higher planes of consciousness is what I seek. Spiritually, physically, and morally I need to find out how to connect it all.

Enlightenment of the soul

What is soul?

evolutionary track towards higher planes of consciousness

What is consciousness? How can it exist on a higher plane?

Spiritually, physically, and morally I need to find out how to connect it all.

What is morality?

What is the difference betwen physical and spiritual?

how to connect it all.

It may be easier to connect these things with a clear understanding of what they are. So again...

What is consciousness?

What is soul?

What is morality?

What is the difference betwen physical and spiritual?

Consciousness is the state of living/perception that can be advanced into further dimensions.
The "soul" is part of the all that is God(which is everything) contained in a temporarily locked vessel that continues in the cycle of life until it advances past this vessel.
Morality is bull#.

Physical is our vessel's perception of reality. Spiritual is what is real.

Reality can be this time or that time, on the dimensional plane of our physical and spiritual body. Reality is the assortment of events that seem to be coincidental. Ir could be described as fate. But these dimensions are always changing, and always have the potential to change. Just as it is so for reality.

This must be refined. You appear to be attempting to describe reality, rather than telling me what it is. We can refine it now, or we can proceed with it unrefined, and filter out our false conclusions later. Both methods are valid. It will be easier for you if you can refine it now, but proceeding with it as it is will get you to your goal just as certainly. I'll leave that up to you.

Should you choose to proceed:

Reality is the assortment of events

Physical is our vessel's perception of reality. Spiritual is what is real

So then, you seem to be suggesting that there are events, and that perception might not necessarily accurately reflect these events. Ok.

Spiritually, physically, and morally I need to find out how to connect it all.

So then...if your goal is to "connect" these things...it would appear that your goal is simply to accurately perceive these things you call "events."

How would do you do that?

This is my own opinion based on people I've met and had to deal with.

It's another path for those seeking the truth. It just depends on what truth you are looking for. It seems to attract those seeking personal power and there is nothing worong with that, it just seems to give these people the a mental disease that they know everything which is the first sign to me that they don't.

It's not a very open path. They're very secretive with their hidden knowledge and secret codes, creating an us vs them additude which will cause an insensitivity in the end.

The Kabala is the origin of alchemy and the Tarot which was only given to the chosen people which therefore will cause secret societies who feel like they know what's best for the species and over generations you end up with an elite completely disconnected from the rest of creation who thinks b/c they know some mechanical insights to the nautre of creation, they can do whatever they want, ie the present time here on earth.

They're playing their part in the cosmic drama. But If you're inclined to be more inspired by feelings and the Goddess, I suggest going the shaman route.

But if you're all heady and logical, it could be a good path for one. Also you can be a Mason b/c they are all up in this stuff, so at least you can have an institution behind you.

However, as somenone who feels the earth and seeks harmony within myself and with my environment, most of my work involves CLEANING UP MESSES made by these so called illuminated wannabes. But we all have a part to play.

I have, coincidentally, been reading much about alchemy and the "Philosopher's Stone" recently.. Alchemy has much to do with symbols, the caduceus is a great example.. hint hint.

To put you on the right path I will say this: In alchemy, the abstract represents the concrete, which means.. the concrete represents the abstract. Mercury, the substance that they change (usually), is a volatile substance. Alchemists are usually said to be turning that volatile substance into gold, a fixed substance. Anything volatile can be fixed, and anything fixed can then be volatile, following me on all this?

Reminds me a little of dualism.. yin and yang...

ANYWAY!
From what I've collected, Alchemy is full of allegories. When they speak of converting quicksilver into gold, they speak of something metaphorical. When they make the change, they are always in the presence of their wife, whom they love just as much as themselves..

I hope I've given you a good start, in a way that isn't TOO confusing.

Again, something concrete = abstract, abstract = concrete..

PM me if you have any specific questions
.

Spiral Out, Keep Going!

Thank you all for helping me on my path towards Truth. I have been finding out everything about the physical world in terms of reality may not really be real. But as LordBucket has suggested, I may need to refine what reality is to me.
I do choose to continue the Path, and I will pursue it passionately until the end of time.
Wylee, my mind tells me that this is my path. I am sure because I suddenly wrote a short story at around 3 AM last night that is EXACTLY like an alchemical text, symbols and all. This is after I tried spraying the air with a can of Lysol, 4 times at first, and then 3. Never done that before, but it seemed to work. I am sure that I only have goodness to bring into the world once I finish the journey.
Thank you for your information, although I believe alchemy may be older than the book of Kabala.
lateralus, your words of advice about the duality of alchemy ring true. Thank you as well.
I am ready...

Am I correct in thinking that reality is just one big event split into many different much smaller events? I've found that little omens, such as insects, can be helpful in identifying upcoming events in my life.

In regard to the end of your post, in my opinion, after numerous synchronistic events throughout my life as well as many people's lives that I know personally.. Yes.

In alchemy, they use a rose in the center of a cross often.

The universe seems like a perfect unfolding of that balance of male and female, or whatever you will call it. Again, male and female mean more than meets the eye, the pure concept has numerous applications..

Sure, I could see insects as sort of an omen. Think of the qualities of the insect, what it symbolizes and what it makes you think of. Then strip those away for the pure concept, you may notice patterns you hadn't before..

For me, I've seen butterflies like no other in the last few weeks.

It is not for me or anyone else to tell you what is correct. The point is not "answering" what is reality, but "deciding" what is reality.

Then we simply take your answer and distill, filter and refine it until it can be distilled, filtered and refined no more. The answer you ultimately come to will be your own.

I could teach you a way of being, just like an evangelical preacher could teach you a way of being. But being taught how to be is not what you asked for and it is not alchemy.

There is no "correct" answer, there are only answers. What use have you for someone else's answer?
